  1. He certainly made an impact when he came on, hope he comes good.
  2. I think Virtanen played RB for the Finland U21s so could easy take Hernandez's place in the team
  3. Every time Wright has shown a bit of promise he's been injured very soon afterwards. At 18/19 that could just be growing pains but he's 24 in the summer so I'm not sure his body can hack professional football. If he fancies it he can absolutely change a game but he doesn't do it regularly enough to be an out and out #10, he's not a winger and he'd need to be part of a two to play up front.
  4. No chance it's the same boy who was on loan last season, his first touch actually controls the ball rather than sending it 30 yards ahead...
  5. "New striker would give St Johnstone a different dimension, says Craig Conway"
  6. Kerr or Findlay, or maybe Soutar to take Devlin's place on the physio table. Honestly Hoban on a decent contract "would be like a new signing"
  7. Wow, that's weak as f**k. I thought I was being overly optimistic hoping it would be a 1 game ban + 3 suspended
  8. Lewis Hernandez Taylor Hoban Hayes McCrorie Ferguson Kennedy Bryson Hedges McGinn
  9. Must be confident they can actually punt McKenna since Hoban was signed as cover for Devlin right?
  10. All the radon will do him the world of good, worked for Russell Anderson's knees
  11. France will have another transfer window at some point in August/September, wouldn't be surprised if Guingamp keep working on Cosgrove if they were willing to spend €3M.
  12. Out of form, Hamilton away, horrific weather, 3 at the back... I'd go "wait til the summer" 3
  13. What was the name of the "player" we signed who made maybe two appearances but whose Dad was an agent who facilitated a couple of transfers for us?
  14. Conspiracy theory time.... Moving between teams in England u24 warrants compensation, moving outside England >23 does not require compensation. James Wilson turned 24 in December...
  15. Fair enough, guess we'll have to wait and see if he just means the solidarity payment or an actual clause. Maybe I'm just too positive but Carlisle board rep trying to save face at a fan meeting by exaggerating the truth feels more likely than us outright lying for no real reason.
  16. Is there an actual source for that or just the usual social media nonsense?
  17. Feels quite a lot like the tail end of the Calderwood era where it seems like the players are being held back and could/should be playing better. Then we had McGhee... I wonder how much the inherent drive of Shinnie and Hayes hid the limitations of McInnes' tactics/approach. The past 18 months I'm not sure you can identify what the team are trying to do. We get possession just inside our half, pass it around a bit, attackers are just standing still next to their markers, ball ends up with Taylor/McKenna who pump it long, Cosgrove wins the header on the accurate ones, no-one is within 20 yards of him so the opposition pick up the ball, repeat for 90 minutes.
  18. Cammy Smith is very similar to James Wilson in that he looks like he has something about him but can't translate it into regularly influencing a game
  19. Stewart can obviously only perform as a big fish in a small pond with a team set up for him, when asked to be part of a team not focused on him he failed. Its 90% mental and 10% McInnes not seeing that (though I wonder if hobbling Killie for the second half of the season was enough...) Hayes wasn't unanimously lauded when he joined and had a bit of a ropey first season but his mentality was spot on. Even when he wasn't having a great game he never hid and was always trying to make something happen. Think it was Stevie Clark that said there were a number of players in the Scottish Premiership who have the talent for the EPL just lack something mentally.
  20. Jonny Hayes, Greg Stewart, Curtis Main and Matty Kennedy have all been really impressive against us and looked like they could improve the team. Hopefully Kennedy is more on the Hayes end but fear he'll go the same way as Stewart and be asked to play in a way that doesn't really suit.
  21. Bought by Atlanta, loaned to us until March when their season starts?
  22. If we had a Christie/Madison/Hayes in the team Ojo would have an easy out ball to transition from defence. Pushing Ferguson further forward was reasonably effective at the end of last season so hopefully see more of that. How much would it take for Kennedy to make the move in January?
  23. Considine hat trick - shin, face, erse
  24. We'd probably get 3-400k compensation given his age so not completely ridiculous to ask for a wee bit more if there are a couple of teams interested
  25. Which could easily mean we've agreed a release clause or offered a %age if he's sold while matching the wage on offer from Hibs.
