  1. I think what we all hope from Livingstone's game last night is that it's a bit of a boot up the backside in terms of making the jump to first team football. Obviously it's a hard game to get chucked in to with the circumstance but he's definitely not physically up to it yet. He had a couple of bits letting the ball run across him that he didn't quite get away with but he probably done it all the time in the 20s. I do really hope he follows the example of Cadden/Campbell/Turnbull and hits the gym every day. Dom Thomas' career trajectory hasn't exactly been stellar since he was jettisoned.
  2. Well I got what I wished for and it was...ok...ish? He looked ok at times, picked up a stupid booking then looked like he was breathing out his arse just before he got taken off. I mean it was nice to see what an actual left back is like though.
  3. I'd said earlier in the thread that ATS is a weird one. The signing made a lot of sense in that he's an actual left back, he's played at this level before etc. but he's made of glass. We do shop in the market of guys trying to get their careers back on track but this one is looking like a step too far. Maybe not against Celtic but I'd be pretty keen to see Adam Livingstone get a run out against some of the teams around us in the league just so I could remember what a left back actually looks like.
  4. This was infuriating. Tait's a solid stand-in at left back but it's painful to watch sometimes. The Livi defender just kept showing him on to his left foot to run down that line and Tait couldn't really do much about it. He needs shifted over to the right again ASAP.
  5. He's going to need a skip to get rid of the amount of absolute haddies in this team. We've got a load of strikers who can't score with any regularity, a defence that's leaking shitey goals every week and no wingers. I do still have vivid nightmares about sacking Robinson as I'm terrified of waking up to the news that we've appointed John fucking Hughes.
  6. I swear I'm cursed in Strawberry. Every time I go near that place it ends up in a fucking riot. Last night I left the shop and some lad started boxing with me (possibly my fault) so instead of knocking lumps into him I thought maybe I can just hogtie him and leave him there while I head off. Next thing I get done for kidnapping and half the town starts shooting at me.
  7. I assume whoever put that deal together went on to a lucrative career in punting sand to Arabs.
  8. I found it to be a pain in the dick until chapter3-ish when I was loaded.
  9. The Tony Watt bit I understood. I reckon if we replaced Ryan Bowman with Stevie May we'd just have replaced one striker who looks like he'll never score again in his life with another, hairier one.
  10. Aye pretty much. I adore big Nadir and would carry him back to Fir Park on my shoulders if need be but, sadly, he's never coming back. I don't think we need to sign another grafter of a striker. I'd prefer someone who's a bit of a *ahem* maverick.
  11. It's an interesting list that and it covers a number of different thoughts I have around the current squad. Main - Keep. He looked back to something approaching his best on Saturday and really deserved a goal. I don't think he's a 25 goal a season striker but he general graft and work looks a bit more useful when he's up there with a poacher. i.e. Danny Johnson. McHugh - Not fussed. I think he's had games for us where he's been absolutely class. The cup game against Hearts when he scored that outrageous volley is one that sticks out as I think he must have won about 50 headers up against Hearts array of giants. However his disciplinary record is woeful, once he's been booked we should just hook him as he loses the heid for 10 minutes afterwards. Bowman - In the bin. f**k me I'm tired of watched someone who seems to base their entire game around failing to trap a ball before chasing it towards a corner flag at breakneck speed. He's had a couple of purple patches with us but they seemed to coincide with Moult/Main being in form. While I think the furore around the Cardoso incident was spectacularly over the top, he's doing my tits in as he still jumps in to every header with his elbows round his ears. Frear - In the bin. I suppose us playing systems that don't require an actual winger has somewhat shackled him and he can't really be faulted for that. However, in the case for the prosecution, he's an imposter. If he plays a game and doesn't go past his man in the first 5 minutes just hook him as he's a man short. He rarely looks like he's bothering himself. Rose - Keep. I like big Andy Rose. I think he's underrated and, according to some of the shouts in the Cooper stand, he's shite. I think he does an absolute power of work in midfield that goes unnoticed a lot of the time. Bigirimana - Keep. Absolute #baller. ATS - In the bin. I know we shop in the market of guys who are on trying to get their career back on track but he seems to be less fit than me. I don't really think we can justify keeping him on when we really have no idea what we've signed. Tanner - Keep. I'm pretty gutted about Tanner's repeated setbacks as he has shown how good he can be. When we managed to get Bigi & Tanner in the same team some of the play around the edge of the box was absolutely delicious. Also delivers a wicked set piece and absolutely hates Dundee Football Club. Cadden - Keep. I know he looked to have plateaued somewhat but he was coming on to a game at right back. The mixture of him and Grimshaw (more on him in a minute) was excellent as it opened half the park up for Cadden to run in to. Seems to suit his game more as he isn't capable of using skill to beat a man. Grimshaw - Keep. I wasn't sure on him for a while but recently he's arguably been our best player. I think we can now see why he captained a Manchester United youth team and had actual money paid for him when he left us. Very tidy, looks like he would tackle anything and recently his mazy runs are what make my Saturdays worth leaving the house for. Mbulu - Keep. He looked assured at the weekend and has something about him. I don't think he'll quite eclipse Kipré but his inclusion added something that we've been missing for a while. If Dunne's back on Saturday I'd like to see what a back 3 of Dunne, Aldred and Mbulu were like. Gorrin - Keep. The pile on was a bit OTT tbh. I thought he was quite good on Saturday and Michael Stewart has said that he wasn't really briefed on things so he didn't know what role he'd played. I thought he looked tidy and quite a cultured player. More of the same would be lovely, thanks. Newell - Honestly forgot he even played for us until he was mentioned on another thread last week. I think tests have come back and have confirmed that his legs are, in fact, made out of cardboard and sellotape. Loans: Aldred - Keep. A total warrior and looks more at home in the middle of defence where his entire remit is to heider anything that comes near him. Big fan. Sammon - I'm playing 7s at the Oriam on Friday so if he wants a lift through he can hop in. If not then I'm firing up a GoFundMe to build a giant catapult to launch him back to Gorgie. In. The. Bin.
  12. The last few episodes are one of my favourite sequences of television of all time.
  13. Aye I helped a lad who'd been bitten by a snake and got a new gun as well! It's quite useful to help folk it would appear.
  14. This game is some caper. Having a great time daundering about and finding stuff. Stopped to speak to a stranger who was struggling with his horse and his horse volleyed his heid off. In terms of open world games I'm not sure anything can eclipse Breath of the Wild but, god damn, this game is fantastic.
  15. FWIW I feel quite bad for the bold Ally Gorrin as he's getting a bit of stick for only being on for 14 minutes. I did think he was tidy and I'm hoping he gets a bit more time on the pitch in the next few weeks. It was fucking window-licking mental to single him out as the key to our recent form, though.
  16. The highlight of that Dundee game was someone on Steelmen Online saying Frear should have just played at left back with his injury. Mental because 1. his hamstring had just exploded off his leg and 2. we'd be better digging a hole at left back on the off chance it might trip someone up.
  17. I would say the latest "coffee and a chat" explains why we stuck Richard Tait in front of the camera after the last game.
  18. I absolutely can't fault Daniel's approach to selling art to the punters. He's played the game, not the occasion. Waffle some shite about the mood of a painting and empty the clueless b*****d's wallets.
  19. I'm assuming it'll be a kind of lift & lay of GTA 5's online mechanic only without the teething issues they had on launch which were brutal. I've been playing this the last few days and god damn it's good.
  20. Well I mean he got off with being a literal nonce so I guess they had to get him done on something.
  21. If we hadn't had a load of call offs he wouldn't have been considered at right back, let alone starting there. I'd have him in the squad as he's the kind of person we could chuck on up front and ask him to throw his head at things. I think it is pretty unfair to expect him to be great when he's not played that position regularly in about 3 years.
