Following up a season scoring every week by getting lifted for being a steaming riot after scooping the award makes Michael Higdon the ultimate footballing icon imho.

I agree with this. Samson must have only played 30-40 games for us across his time and I can think of a frightening number of blunders that cost us games. There were occasions where I started to wonder if he actually had hands in those gloves or were they, in fact, lettuce leaves.

I'm, quite frankly, still reeling from the revelation that Lee Hollis wore two different boots. The lower end of that list of keepers is the stuff of nightmares. I'll give Dubordeaux a pass for his one ridiculous performance against Rangers but Hollis, Neilsen, Fraser, Samson and Meldrum were absolutely stinking. I'd put Dean Brill in as an honorary mention despite never playing for us. He rocked up to Fir Park about 4 stone overweight.

From my, admittedly basic, understanding the worries about head knocks and falls are only as he's on blood thinning tablets at this point. They basically stop your blood from clotting so if you cut yourself it doesn't stop. Theoretically once he's off those it wouldn't be an issue.
