  1. The old days when there was more sand on our park than on Troon beach look like a bowling green compared to the Firhill tottie field.
  2. We aren't great but Aberdeen are hoaching. Brown & Ferguson get a weird hard man reputation that follows them about which is genuinely inexplicable when they've now been thumped out of 3 games by a midfield that has Sean Goss in it. The only thing the two of them actually do is take the ball off a centre back and pass it sideways. Anyway. Looking forward to Cormack having a couple of whiskies and ringing up Sportsound on Monday.
  3. Aye I do remember that one. There's been a few of them. Callum Elliott also burst the arse out a seat next to me with a wayward shot. Poor fucker was probably shattered from getting out his bed at 8am and going to his work.
  4. As someone who sits directly behind that I am very appreciative of the net they've installed. I mind a few years ago someone along the row from me ended up with a burst nose after someone's terrible shot hit them. Also I think it was the Hibs game where Woolery managed to hit the windows at the back of the stand with two consecutive shots.
  5. @thisGRAEME touting himself for a move to Sportscene with that analysis. Joking aside it's painfully true. Whatever system GA attempts to play seems to entirely hinge on making a c**t of the fullbacks. It's common sense, to me anyway, that if a fullback needs to press up the pitch a midfielder should drop in to the space or at least follow a guy in a different coloured kit from them. It's clearly a thought out decision to have the fullbacks press so I don't know if it's also a tactic to have your midfielders practically holding hands or if it's just a chronic lack of ability/awareness/both.
  6. I've been wondering about this as well. We're persisting with a load of wingers who are either not wingers or bang out of form. And watching 90 minutes of us scooping pointless balls towards corner flags that have folk running away from goal is brutal to watch. Surely there's mileage in trying Shields & KvV as actual strikers and stick Tierney in behind them to attempt to pass a ball. The number of times we play stupid pointless passes that arrive up front at waist height on the touchline would drive you to drink.
  7. Obviously injuries/suspensions/covid have meant we need to rotate players a fair amount. Most concerning, for me anyway, is the fact we don't really seem to have a first choice system that we then put whatever squad we have into. The fact we're still experimenting with wildly different tactics with every new game isn't exactly inspiring confidence. The current set up is amongst the worst football I've had the misfortune to watch at Motherwell.
  8. Alexander's football is weird. Mental tactics, still doesn't seem to know what his best team is and collectively we all seem to never be further than about 3 games away from wanting to bin him.
  9. Agree with this. Look at SOD as a prime example. He's consistently a serviceable international right wing back. Then the bold Grezza hangs him out to fucking dry by trying to play him as a right winger or playing him as an ultra defensive full back. As I said before the game, it's the Graham Alexander tactical tombola every game. f**k knows what we'll try on Saturday but I'm expecting our season to be over by 5 o'clock.
  10. I've got to be honest I'm a bit fucked with this. Alexander's tactics at this point are either completely stupid or to throw Bevis up front in the last 10 minutes. He's trying to be all big brain but Sunday was tactical seppuku and tonight is just stupidity. Tierney is the one bright spark for the last 3 games - benched. Cornelius looked alright in spells on Sunday - benched. Donnelly who had a disaster and looks miles off it - starts. Chuck 3 wingers up front, don't create any chances then put Mugabi up front and hope for the best appeared to be the hope tonight. While Murderball wasn't great to watch it was somewhere near Thunderdome in that it was brutally effective when it worked.
  11. Finished rewatching the whole thing last night. It's still absolutely tremendous. Planning on sticking on In The Loop later on to cap it all off.
  12. While picking through an opposition club's finances tends to be something Celtic Da's spend their every waking hour like to do it is quite something to see Dundee United try to reenact that KLF video. Ogren saying he believes the club will turn a profit in 12 months is giving the same energy as some lad in the bookies telling you his next horse is definitely the winner.
  13. I still vividly remember being shifted to the main stand years ago. John Boyle standing in the directors box getting absolute dogs abuse for 90 minutes is burned into my memory.
  14. Always tickles me the sheer level of entitlement these goons have about going to an away ground and assuming that all clubs should just huckle their season ticket holders out the seats they've paid for because they've got a hugely over inflated opinion of the blue/green pound.
  15. Not content with the usual amount of Monday morning misery I just watched the highlights there. Carroll's absolutely hoaching for the first and third goals. He's literally marking Abada for the third then just casually jogs back. Donnelly was like a man short all over the place. I don't think he ever got within about 10 yards of Rogic or Hatate. I think what annoys me is that we have, in the not too distant past, taken points off the Old Firm with teams that are not as talented but work like f**k. That yesterday and the Rangers game a few months ago were both completely gutless performances. I said in the match thread that playing with a high press is fine but only if you're willing to press all over the pitch and not just chuck it as soon as they've got through the midfield. It does somewhat feel like the tactics yesterday hung us right out to dry. For Wednesday I hope Ojala's fit, get Donnelly emptied to start Tierney further forward and just look like a semi-competent set of football players.
  16. Some of his covering in the first half was excellent. Bailed us out on a few occasions. The third goal was Carroll hanging about in the Tim Horton's car park meaning McGinley's stuck either going wide or trying to pick up someone in the box. He can't do both and it was a fucking disaster all in. McGinley's just the new target for the boo boys.
  17. He's not wrong tbf. Him & Kelly were about the only two with pass marks.
  18. I don't mind if we decide to go for a high press but you need to be willing to work all over the park. Jake Carroll was so far behind the game he was cutting about in a Zoom Airlines jersey looking for a one two with Richie Foran. I can handle conceding a goal like the second because fair fucks to Rogic, I'm no sure there's a keeper on earth would save that. But the first & third were absolute dug meat. McGinley was actually quite good today I thought. He's just the boo boys favourite. Would start Tierney and American Joe on Wednesday because they achieved more in 45 minutes today than KVV has managed this year.
  19. Carroll's looked at Barisic during the week and thought it was something to emulate. An absolutely stinking 45 minutes. We're not going to win a league game for the rest of the season and we'll still be alright thanks to Aberdeen & Hibs being as bad as we are.
  20. 5-4-1 with Van Veen up front and nobody within about 35 yards of him? Cannot wait.
