Simple answer to all this is to ask the man what his intentions are.
Has anyone thought about doing that?
Picking up the phone and asking him or meeting up with him at the next Gartcairn game.
How about one of the many podcasts just inviting him for a chat?
Go on, you know you want too.
He has done quite a few over the years now.
Don't think any of his plans have really paid off at this point.

Far more likely PossilYM is if Stranraer dropped into the Lowland League that within 3 years they wouldn't have the money to operate a B team in the SoS.
I could see that happening, but I saw it mentioned that the main club doesn't really put much money into the South side. Maybe more that the reserves would be cannibalised considering the player market they'd be operating under outside the SPFL.

Remember that all the clubs moved to the WOSFL as they had no where else to go at that time.
They could have stayed in the West Region. Junior football may well have ended up being Ayrshire, Central, East, North. As we've seen the North and Midlands are happy with the status quo or will still float the 'Central League' idea so the old East teams get away from the Highland League.
Its now a case of the "senior/pyramid' minded don't have anywhere else to go as the SFA or other Lowland area leagues aren't going to sanction another West league.

Can the SRCC be optional? Sure I read entry to this is a stipulation of being a league in the pyramid that is part of the Lowland catchment area. Could be wrong, pretty sure @glensmad would be able to confirm.
There seems to be an attempt to make it optional within the WoSFL constitution.
That doesn't mean that the Lowland, EoSFL, or SoSFL would accept the situation. Which brings you to the typical impasse seen when the PWG was a thing.

Stranraer wouldn't be a bad away trip for LL clubs.
Arse end of nowhere, possible potential local derby with Gretna 2008.
local
I'm sure the self-preservation mix of clubs will be thrilled by Stranraer coming down though. As they won't upset the status quo too much.

£23k to do fucking what? Run one cup competition?
They do have some oversight of the North Region and Midlands. Still find it funny that TJ would get stick for being a paid employee and those taking over when he left wouldn't be taking on that role, hence the COO. Now the board are probably sharing close to his salary anyway despite doing less work with less revenue.

2 x 5k
1 x 10 k
1 x 20k
Is 40k - where does other £13600 come from ?
Qtr exit - 2k
Round of 16 exit - 500
Round of 32 exit - 100

Thats potentially from wikipedia. Always be a bit wary of that.
2022 SJC final was said to have roughly 3500 from the SJFA COO
Yet wikipedia with no sources has found an extra thousand from somewhere.

Is that in addition to gate money ?
In which case, they will be at least £13000 up on the deal.
The SJFA now have to cover £53,600 in actual prize money. Since we know they were losing money with the old model of just covering the semi-final and final guarantees. Time's going to tell if they're onto a money loser with this version.

Let's stay in here and now. Hard to tell what gates will be but say they are as follows
1 Talbot v Darvel - 2000
2 Darvel v Talbot - 1200
3 Arthurlie v Burgh - 1000
4 Burgh v Arthurlie - 800
Now for sake of the clubs I hope each has more- I've no real beef with any of them.
Prices are £10 & £5 I believe
If you allow for 60/40 full to concession which is hopefully again realistic.
Game 1 has receipts of £16000
2 £9600
3 £8000
4 £6400
That's £40000 over 4 matches and at 60% SJFA pocket £24000. That's not 25 years ago That's today. Allowing for expenses etc it's still around £23000. That's money taken from pockets of clubs. Not sure what guarantee - if any - is but unless it's on top of your home game then it's a big whack of money to be taking.
Losing semi-finalists get £5k each. Runners up will be £10k and winners £20k.

genuine question - regarding the point about too many unlicensed clubs.
To use Beith as a hypothetical example because their lack of license is probably the most inconvenient from your perspective - if they continue to delay getting a license indefinitely and won the next 3 or 4 league titles, what would be your solution to this?
It doesn't seem like there is any sort of penalty for not getting licensed at the moment other than missing out on the chance to be promoted. what practical "progressive" solution do you have in mind for this situation?
Personally, I would just let the highest-placed licensed team have a pop at the playoffs.
The WoS Board did try and float the idea of making the Premier all licensed or certainly aim for that standard. Don't think it even went to a vote as they knew it wasn't popular enough to pass.
They're certainly trying for that.
Its just there's no teeth to it.

Unless there's wider changes we already know what the ceiling is, Tier 6. Unless they want to pay the fees to the LL.
EDIT: This is more of a trivial side-note. Would this be Livingston joining the EoSFA and enter the City Cup?

Just to condense the last 8 pages Into a brief summarisation.
Talbot guys give their best in every game and their fans pretty much want to win every game and aren't really too ruffled over all this .
Personally I'm not too ruffled too and will support my club regardless of which league we play in if the licence opens up or even if in decades time and we went down the leagues I would still be there regardless .
And in conclusion and onto the bankies fans now and they're just pretty much angry at everything.
Think most of it was about Alex McDowall potentially becoming the WoSFL Chair.

It has been said if Stirling Uni were relegated from the LL, that the EoS team basically folds. One league = one team. A Gala team increases the chances of that scenario happening sooner than later.
Is there any rule changes on that front?

Can we not just amalgamate the South Challenge Cup and the Junior Cup and call it the Junior Cup?
Name recognition of the Junior Cup twinned with having every club in the south region involved. Sounds a win-win to me.
There's been attempts at changing things but they never went anywhere.

What is the general stance from the EoS on accepting reserve sides? I know Stirling Uni are in it but they have been for years and were accepted when numbers were much lower. I'm sure other reserve sides have been rejected since then?
Stirling Uni never resigned as members of the EoSFL when the Lowland League started. It was never a case of being voted in. Selkirk would try in 2014 and lost out on a 50-50 vote (no Chair pushing it through like the LL votes).
Don't think there were any after Selkirk until Edinburgh City tried to get in, but they still hadn't resolved the Meadowbank situation. The uncertainty on where they would play I believe meant it never got to the point of a vote.

That’s even dafter as surely your team is only playing in one of the other? You get promoted then you aren’t active in the east?
Not as conflicted but daft.
I think what they're talking about is the Secretary and Fixture Secretary. Neither one is making up the rules or votes as far as i'm aware.

No push back on this front?
Course not as we made sure to give the SJFA special exception.

I thought he quit his role with Gartcairn in order to take up the role with the SJFA? Doesn't a committee member have to be with a WoSFL club?

I’m sure the South League don’t want/like them as their application was turned down the last time they applied.
That's in the past and not sure how much of that was due to a rushed application after the original Gretna went bust.
Gretna 2008 would be relegated to the South. They also joined the Southern Counties FA this season.

Some rare AEW releases
*Anthony Henry
*The Tate Twins a.k.a. The Boys
*Stu Grayson
*Dasha Kuret
*Gravity
*Parker Boudreaux
*Slim J
*Jose the Assistant
*Jora Johlhttps://www.postwrestling.com/2024/04/02/report-aew-releases-ten-performers/
Dasha seems like the real surprising one, given that she's been there since the start of Dynamite and was still on TV most weeks.
Most of those names remind me of 2022 when a lot of the lower card originals weren't renewed. I wonder if their deals were coming up soon and chose to cut bait early. As long as they're getting paid. I don't think there can be many complaints. As you'd probably think they were already gone or had forgetten they even worked there in the first place.
Anthony Henry is meant to be injured which is a bad look anytime. Made worse that its the same day Punk was talking about organising his own surgery after Brawl Out.
The Boys must be disappointed after being part of the Dalton/Johnny TV feud.
I always liked Jose the Assistant and Dasha, but if they're gone you wouldn't notice.

Hi @The Faceman
I know you've went with a different approach recently with sending the data to the social media of the leagues. It looks like the Lowland League isn't publishing them.
A new month often sees an update, would it be possible to add them here?

In the continuing adventures of the hottest signing in women's wrestling, Mone was absolutely awful on commentary, came across like she had absolutely zero charisma, and went down the route of simply making noises rather than providing any insight. They really need to have her wrestle soon.
Don't see it happening until Double or Nothing based on how things have played out. Hopefully her ankle hasn't been Pillmanized after the injury and she can get back to normal.
