    Seventy ?

Head counts this season have had 53 v. Cumbernaul Colts and 69 v. Edinburgh University so far. It's not that surprising. Broomhill have averaged double figures over an entire season most of their existence.

Shire must have a bronze ground same with Broomhill and Stirling Uni?

Depends on what the arrangements are like. Similarly, Spartans are Bronze on Ground but Hutchison Vale are Entry. Pretty sure there's been a time when a non-league team had the higher grading over the SPFL team sharing. Either Cumbernauld Colts/Clyde or Spartans/Edinburgh City.

  3. Cowdenbeath 0-6 East Kilbride
    Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 4-1 Pollok
Kilwinning Rangers 3-2 Shotts Bon Accord
    Troon 3-0 Caledonian Braves
    Kennoway Star Hearts P-P Ashfield
    Tranent 4-1 Broxburn Athletic
    Johnstone Burgh 1-2 Threave Rovers
Rutherglen Glencairn 0-0 (3-4 on pens) Cumbernauld Colts

  4. Broadwood can't be long for this world in its current form. Someone's going to have an idea to make money by demolishing it.

5th Round's today. Ashfield's game was postponed yesterday as Kennoway suffered a broken water pipe.

    Cowdenbeath v. East Kilbride
    Kirkintilloch Rob Roy v. Pollok
Kilwinning Rangers v. Shotts Bon Accord
    Troon v. Caledonian Braves
    Kennoway Star Hearts P-P Ashfield
    Tranent v. Broxburn Athletic
    Johnstone Burgh v. Threave Rovers
    Rutherglen Glencairn v. Cumbernauld Colts

  5. Outstanding ties went:

    23/12 - Threave Rovers 5-1 Leith Athletic

    20/01 - Dunbar United 0-1 Cumbernauld Colts

30/01 - St Andrews United 0-2 Kennoway Star Hearts

I was reminded of this as the 5th Round ties are due to be played this week. Unfortunately, Kennoway v. Ashfield is an early postponement due to a burst water pipe.

    Cowdenbeath v. East Kilbride
    Kirkintilloch Rob Roy v. Pollok
Kilwinning Rangers v. Shotts Bon Accord
    Troon v. Caledonian Braves
    Kennoway Star Hearts P-P Ashfield
    Tranent v. Broxburn Athletic
    Johnstone Burgh v. Threave Rovers
    Rutherglen Glencairn v. Cumbernauld Colts

You telling me these aren't plastic clubs? They bring zero to the table in terms of support. Football is all about fans, what is the point in throwing money at something that has no real meaning to anyone.

If some of those clubs count as plastic, then Darvel must be in your book.

Tranent have appointed a Director of Football. Yes, you heard that right, a Lowland League club need a Director of Football.

Wouldn't see it as a need, but a want. Didn't they recently integrate a youth club into the mix. Coaches can come and go. A designated position like that can provide a continuity of care.

On Monday the 5th of February, the Lowland League board is due to convene for a general meeting.

Club chairman Chris Ewing will in attendance on behalf of the Caley Braves and we want to factor the views of all Braves owners.

If you have topic that you would like for us to table at the meeting, then let us know by responding on the 'Live Votes' tab of on our official app.

The Lowland League have requested that any reports for consideration to be submitted by Wednesday 31st of January.

Any chance we'll hear anything on the attempt at reforming promotion/relegation between Tier 5 & 6 from this meeting?

So the competition with by far the biggest prize pot shouldn't be allowed, why does the west of scotland not match the £20k winning cheque for the west of scotland cup likewise the south challenge cup?

The overwhelming majoirty of teams are in favour of playing the the junior cup. Other than Clydebank in the premier league who we all know the competition is below their board of directors, I think the rest are all involved? May be others however can't think off the top of my head.

If there is a cup to be done away with it is the South Challenge, lot of expense very little recovery.

Actually paying prize money these days, or still hoping the gate covers the guarantee?

That’s the first two episodes of the Air Force “follow up” series Masters of the Air up on Apple TV+ now.

Seems the Pacific didn’t get the ratings that Band of Brothers did so HBO passed on the new series so Hanks and Spielberg went to Apple.

It wasn't a ratings issue. HBO had been developing the series for years. It boiled down to money and when the time came they didn't want to pony up the budget. The Pacfic ballooned over budget. With all the CGI required to make this work on top traditional production costs there were concerns.

I've liked it well enough so far. Main problem i've encountered is a don't like some of the actors or am just too familiar with them which makes their protrayal more forced compared to the previous shows.

  11. Not long into the second half and Drumchapel United have taken a 1-0 lead.

Alex Jack Cup Final is on 18/02 between Bo'ness Athletic and Heriot-Watt University.

Alba Cup still to play their semi-finals which will be on 17/02 (Lochar Thistle v. Upper Annandale / Lochmaben v. Nithsdale Wanderers).

    EDIT:

    Finish 3-0

Is Hearts playing a weaker team bring any less credibility than the Uni teams weakened at holiday times?

    Kinda. It's a league of part-timers.

Uni teams struggle out of term time, others face the usual midweek limitations and shift-work ruling out players.

It's not because a chunk of the squad are playing a game elsewhere.

I also highly doubt that the allegation of a 'play date' with Lesnar being set up but cancelled due to a weather event is provable without receipts. Lesnar famously said he hated his wife being back in that environment in 2004 which is why he encouraged her to leave.

Since this is the person that asked for a video of her urinating. There's the possibility there are "receipts" its not like everything's being included in the complaint.

As for Lesnar getting Sable out of that environment. It's not necessarily virtue signalling. It could just as much be about being possessive and controlling. Everyone's known or aware of the hypocritical husband/boyfriend that treats their partner one way, and treats those they are having affairs with in a completely different way.

There's not an impossible chance that this was consensual and has been framed in a narrative to try and rinse McMahon for more money and end him.

Sure. Then there's the other $11m+ worth of NDAs. Rita Chatterton's claims from the 90s onwards until she potentially got paid in 2022 and she disappeared. As well as the massage parlor worker/manager.

  15. Meltzer is saying that the Network will be closing down and content moved to Netflix internationally starting next year. How much of the archive that moves across is an unknown at this point.

  16. Busy news day. The Rock isn't quite head of the table, but he's now one of the Board of Directors of TKO.

The Raw deal in the US has been confirmed as going to Netflix, and more importantly from a UK perspective they're picking up basically everything new once the TNT sports deal is up in January.

Beginning in January 2025, Netflix will be the exclusive new home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America, among other territories, with additional countries and regions to be added over time. Likewise, as part of the agreement, Netflix will also become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the U.S. as available, inclusive of Raw and WWE’s other weekly shows – SmackDown and NXT – as well as the company’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble. WWE’s award-winning documentaries, original series and forthcoming projects will also be available on Netflix internationally beginning in 2025

If Edinburgh Uni do come down and the league opt to Demote 4 it will then have a knock on affect for the leagues below. Demoting 4 from the premier league will then create an imbalance in the leagues below also.

it would require other leagues to demote 4 while only promoting 3, this would surely be more of an issue than just having 17 clubs in one league. as cant see many clubs being happy with this happening.

will be interesting come end of season none the less to see what happens.

The net gain or loss isn't a new thing. Everyone is aware of it as it gets explained what the permutations maybe at the beginning of the season.

AFAIK all clubs in the HL and LL are licensed. It's a condition of entry.

Bronze licensing is now needed for the SPFL. The scaremongering on that might be a hardline with no grace period. Even though a grace period exists now for Tier 5 champions to meet additional SPFL standards and League One promoted teams to the Championship.

I presume there would be a knock-on effect of increased relegation in the EoS and that the EoS accept that. Or would the EoS Premier expand?

I might be missing something here, but right now the EoSFL accept this:

    0 Promotion + 0 Relegated LL = 3 up / 3 down
    0 Promotion + 1 Relegated LL = 3 up / 4 down
    0 Promotion + 2 Relegated LL = 3 up / 5 down

    1 Promotion + 0 Relegated LL = 4 up / 3 down
    1 Promotion + 1 Relegated LL = 3 up / 3 down

    1 Promotion + 2 Relegated LL = 3 up / 4 down

3 positive/normal scenarios and 3 negative ones that would mean increased relegation.

If the LL had a scenario that 3 relegated sides becomes a possibility it would mean adding 2 negative scenarios.

    0 Promotion + 3 Relegated LL = 3 up / 6 down
    1 Promotion + 3 Relegated LL = 3 up / 5 down

I don't know if they would tweak things. Perhaps not initially as the additional scenarios are extreme and should be uncommon. If they went several seasons of excessive relegations maybe. On paper they'd be expecting their champion promoted and 1/2 relegated from the LL. Which is where they are now.
