I thought after the bad Watt over they'd take a minute or two just to compose themselves and have a think about what to do next, but McMullen was charging in with the ball from the other end almost straight away. I think they just kinda got overwhelmed in the moment, but aye, that's really a failing of captaincy not to just slow it down and have a bit of a mental reset.

That's just the nature of short-format cricket. Netherlands kept their nerve, a couple of mental errors by the Scots combined with a couple of poor overs and it all turns around. Yup. I'd question the coaching as well. Nobody had been tonking the ball out of the ground, and in most instances when they had tried it the ball was coming down well short of the ropes, so I don't understand at all the need to have your fielders right out and let the opponent run two's all day. You may as well bring them in 5 yards, because it cuts down the two's, it's where the mishits are dropping, and if it goes over your head it's probably 4 or 6 regardless. The fact there were two catches went down with fielders running in 5-10 yards tells you they were too deep.

England dropped Marsh on next to nothing and he's busy slapping their bowling silly. They could have had the Aussies 100 for 7 or 8 and given themselves a chance to save the series, but as usual for England, they got the dropsies when it mattered most. What's the bigger embarrassment? Scotland not qualifying for a 10 nation World Cup despite totally outplaying expectations, or England getting slapped silly by Australia, at home, yet again?

He should have been on as soon as Watt got clattered for 20'odd. They could get away with one over like that, but not two, and I don't see De Leede hitting Sole for 3x Sixes in an over no matter how set he is.

Don't understand why they let McMullen bowl that last over. As soon as it was down to 25'ish from 3 it should have been Sole bowling 2 of them, even if it meant someone faking an injury to give him a minute to warm up.

Fair play to the Netherlands. Paced this superbly. Some really poor Scots bowling over the past five, and the outfield has been too deep right from the start.
