  1. Anyone remember Suzie Lamplugh ? She was the woman who disappeared after she left her west London office in July 1986 to show a man called "Mr Kipper" around a house in Fulham. She was never seen again and was officially declared dead in 1994. 8 years and the useless UK plod couldn't find the woman. It would therefore appear it's not only the Portuguese police who occasionally have problems solving crimes. You'd have thought from all the xenophobic pish that's been flung in the direction of Portugal that we were somehow any better...doesn't appear to be that way.

Has there been xenophobic pish? or is it just people wanting the police to do a better job than they are doing? (no matter if it has happened in the UK or not)

  2. But it was a member of the British press that tipped the pish plods about Murat was it not?

So the main suspects are suspects because, they looked shifty in front of the British press pack or the polis dugs went for a pish in the wrong place.

So, what else are the polis doing?

    1) Apparently wanting to read Kates Diary. I think they just heard she was a swinger, so is hoping it reads like a porn book.

    2) Digging around under newly laid concrete, which was laid before the McCanns hired the car - yet Maddys DNA and Hair etc was found in the hire car.

    3) Have put together a really strong case and getting ready to convict Kate McCann (with evidence we surely have not heard)

(is there anything factually wrong with that?)

  3. Any leaks, stories, inacuracies and half truths eminating in this sad case are coming, through the British media, directly from the McCann's and their friends/family.
But is that not due to the fact that officially they are not allowed to talk to the press? Which leads to officers selling info to the press.

So is it the McCanns or the portuguese police leaking the stories? (that don't add up to the police having a solid case, imo)

  4. It all helps to paint the picture that what she has been telling lies to police and that she can't be trusted.

Telling lies to the police about her sex life and marriage. Yup she definitely killed Maddy.

They have f**k all to go on. It is a waste of time. If they have the proof that has been said they do (especially on here) then they wouldnt need her diary to show she has lied to the police.

  5. After something happened yes, but there may be details of her behaviour before anything happened that could be used as evidence.
    Read my post again.

I said nothing that would prove anything.

Doesn't mean it wouldn't be incriminating.

So if it is going to be used as evidence, doesnt that mean it will be used to help prove she did it, or why would they use it as evidence?

  6. Maddy's sleeping habits

    Arguements between her & him.

Whether they were big dirty swingers.

Wouldn't be anything that proves they did it or not but could give insights. Enties in diary could be different to what she has told police proving her a liar.

Could make her look really bad (worse)

So it could make her look bad, and therefore prove she killed Maddy. Righty-o.

  7. After something happened yes, but there may be details of her behaviour before anything happened that could be used as evidence.

    What, like :-

August 22nd 2006, Maddy will just not stop crying today. I wish i could shut her up, she is doing my nut in.

There is nothing that will be in the diary that will be able to be used as evidence against her. (unless she admits to it) Everything that is being released suggests (atleast to me) that the police have f**k all to go on.

  8. the bit that confuses me is that they can test 3 million dna strings for matches yet have to trust a cocker spaniel to solve the crime.

In my humble opinion the cocker spaniel is the landed aristocracy of the canine world, highly inbred and of little use other than pheasant hunts, just goes to show you eh.

Then again Columbo always acted a bit "touched" so perhaps it's an affectation the spaniel has worked on.

So do the matches set fire to the string?

  9. Aye, that does seem strange, in the circumstances.

Not really. The church will have likely given them a key so that they can go in and pray at any time. I doubt they will turn them away just because it isn't opening hours, especially going through what they are going through.

Also, apparently, the police are investigating some roads which had been filled in around the time of Madeleine's disappearance....

If she was dumped there, when it had been filled in about the time of Maddys dissapearance, how can her DNA being in the car be the fault of the Mccanns?:blink: Obviously they have no real evidence either way if that is the case.

  10. The

    IF

being used for both the type of analysis and the result.

Don't blame me for your misreading and general pedantry.

As long as it doesn't go down the whole "PR debate" route- that was fun. <_<

Ok, anyway they wouldnt have used sequencing for this, it would take far too long to compare the results. They use fingerprinting to look at the DNA profile (different for everyone, 50% from mum, 50% from dad). That is why the 80% is very wierd, it means that 4/5 of the DNA is from Maddy
