  1. We now have 5,000 joined the AberDNA scheme - that is incredible numbers and a fair amount of money coming in for the manager. I will expect other clubs to do the same as us in the future now they see the success of this scheme.
  2. Celtic fans will love it if we had a team with Schalk and Logan in it [emoji39]
  3. You are forgetting that you get a football top for nothing and also £40-£60 off season ticket. The club will be taxed on this scheme as well. International will sell quite well - will be more than 10% but might be 60% between both international and premium.
  4. Things are really starting to look positive for Aberdeen overall - the club continues to do well in the last 5 seasons while the oil industry is starting to recover after the worse downturn ever. Can't believe we have over 4,000 with AberDNA - I thought we would be lucky to get 1,000 folk doing this. This will bring nearly 1/2 million to the football budget every season so lets hope we can get another 1,000 fans to do this. There was nearly 1,000 people on Wednesday collecting their free football top which shows a lot have picked the premium option. Twitter or any of the Aberdeen forums as never a good judge to what the fans think as those unhappy will post/moan while those satisfied/happy with the club don't post.
  5. Best doing that then collecting it today - massive queues that took an 1 hour to go down which I think it was caused by nearly all wanting the DNA badge at the back of the top - if only the club managed to get a fair number done then there wouldn't have been much of an queue.
  6. His 2 little boy tackles on Kenny McLean which should have seen 2 yellow cards. If Shinnie played for Celtic he wouldn't get 17 yellow cards a season as we see with Scott Brown. Was disappointed with the BBC for not showing Brown 2 poor timed tackles on Kenny McLean but we know there is always media bias when it comes to Rangers and Celtic compared to other clubs.
  7. The issue isn't the strikers but it is more the wide players this season not creating chances for them.
  8. No doubt a load of rubbish this one as Aberdeen normally do their transfer business quietly. If true there is a option of Tansey going to Ross County and Naismith coming here.
  9. It was no surprise that Sportscene didn't show Scott Brown terrible change on Shinnie or the 2nd foul which he should have been sent off.
  10. 18 again ha ha - did nick this photo from the sun website but didn't want to post link
  11. Very nice graph I've also did the best team outside the old firm since 1994-1995 season - Only Hearts in 2005/2006 season have beat our points total this season which many Aberdeen fans class this season performances as very poor: 36 games 1994/1995: Motherwell – 54 points 1995/1996: Aberdeen – 55 points 1996/1997: Dundee United – 60 points 1997/1998: Heart of Midlothian – 67 points 1998/1999: St Johnstone – 57 points 1999/2000: Heart of Midlothian – 54 points 38 games 2000/2001: Hibernian – 66 points 2001/2002: Livingston – 58 points 2002/2003: Heart of Midlothian – 63 points 2003/2004: Heart of Midlothian – 68 points 2004/2005: Hibernian – 61 points 2005/2006: Heart of Midlothian – 74 points 2006/2007: Aberdeen – 65 points 2007/2008: Motherwell – 60 points 2008/2009: Heart of Midlothian – 59 points 2009/2010: Dundee United – 63 points 2010/2011: Heart of Midlothian – 63 points 2011/2012: Motherwell – 62 points Rangers Liquidated 2012/2013: Motherwell – 63 points 2013/2014: Motherwell – 70 points 2014/2015: Aberdeen – 75 points 2015/2016: Aberdeen – 71 points 2016/2017: Aberdeen – 76 points 2017/2018: Aberdeen – 70 points (1 game to go)
  12. Well done to Derek McInnes on his move to Rangers (Sky Sports News)
  13. Derek McInnes confirmed in the press conference today that Anthony O'Connor will be moving on at the end of the season - that will please a few of our supporters after the Scottish cup semi-final reaction.
  14. https://www.afc.co.uk/2018/04/30/aberdna-membership-drives-football-investment/ Over 3,000 Dons supporters have now signed-up to AberDNA, the Club’s new official membership scheme that provides compelling benefits for our supporters across the globe and promises to deliver 100% of the net proceeds to the football operation. The membership initiative has already raised over £500,000 in gross revenue since its launch. Upon hearing the news that the latest membership milestone had been reached Derek McInnes had this message for the Red Army, “I would like to say a big thank you to the 3,000 supporters who have become founding members of AberDNA. The support since I have arrived at the club has been excellent and your further contribution as members is a massive boost as we strive to take the club forward and prepare for the 2018/19 season. “With Celtic’s turnover at £90 million, Rangers around £30 million and Aberdeen £15 million, finding innovative new ways to support the football operation is essential to the club’s future. A rejuvenated Hearts and Hibs are also closing the gap given they are enjoying bigger average home attendances. “To level the playing field, and be as competitive as we can be, I urge anyone who hasn’t already considered AberDNA to do so and sign up now. I know that everyone has different circumstances to consider, and that’s why this is a voluntary membership. “If just 6% of our 100,000 fans join AberDNA, we’d have 6,000 members contributing a significant amount of money each year to support investment in the first team, youth development and sports science – that’s a potential game-changer for this football club. “Your backing and support is very much appreciated.”
  15. It was a disgraceful interview - Derek McInnes did well not to answer the questions but still be professional. Hope Derek McInnes had a word with Brian McLaughlin after the game.
  16. On route to hampden tonight - hope the the dons under 20 win the youth cup tonight - COYR
  17. Was never a fan of tangoman as the football was dreadful to watch and negative - think the fans had enough of his type of football even though he managed to get some decent results and qualified for europe a few times. I've wanted every manager sacked from Portaloo onwards till Derek McInnes came in.
  18. https://www.afc.co.uk/2018/04/24/development-project-receives-full-planning-approval/ AFC Chairman, Stewart Milne has given the following reaction following the news that the club have now received official planning permission from Aberdeen City Council: “ This is yet another piece of good news in our long-running saga to secure badly needed training and community facilities. We are really excited about letting contracts to local companies for the work and getting started on site. Despite claims by the objectors, we will be going ahead as we are confident that our plans have gone through the proper channels and democratic process. “It’s now clear from planning and legal experts that the objectors cannot stop these plans. At best, they could hold them up for a matter of months but ultimately our plans will go ahead. The courts won’t entertain a challenge that is just based on the development being in the Green Belt. The objectors need to argue that the process of permitting the development was flawed and, even in the unlikely event that is upheld, the Club and the Council will simply go through the planning process again, correcting any procedural error and the outcome will be the same. “It’s only right and fair that those donating or making pledges to their cause are fully aware that their money cannot prevent these plans and will simply fund a pointless exercise that will drain Council resources and potentially damage the region’s reputation as a place in which to invest. “Our aim is to work constructively with the local communities to be a good neighbour and to ensure we deliver the best sports facilities for local people and the best training facilities for the Club.”
  19. Just looking at Aberdeen League Points stats since 3 points was introduced in the Scottish game from the season 1994-1995 (Hopefully correct info below). 36 games a season 1994-1995 - 41 points 1995-1996 - 55 points 1996-1997 - 44 points 1997-1998 - 39 points 1998-1999 - 37 points 1999-2000 - 33 points 38 games a season 2000-2001 - 45 points 2001-2002 - 55 points 2002-2003 - 49 points 2003-2004 - 34 points 2004-2005 - 61 points 2005-2006 - 54 points 2006-2007 - 65 points 2007-2008 - 53 points 2008-2009 - 53 points 2009-2010 - 41 points 2010-2011 - 38 points 2011-2012 - 41 points 2012-2013 - 48 points Derek McInnes 2013-2014 - 68 points 2014-2015 - 75 points 2015-2016 - 71 points 2016-2017 - 76 points 2017-2018 - 65 points (4 games still to be played) The reason I've done this stats is to wonder why minority of Aberdeen fans want McInnes out when in the 24 years apart from 2 season from Jimmy Calderwood we have got nowhere near the points total that Derek McInnes teams have achieved? I suppose some arguments will be that for a few seasons it was a weaker league and many will be unhappy with our record against Rangers/Celtic in last few seasons. Some may also argue that the football this season hasn't been the level of the last 3 or 4 seasons. Others may also go on about only 1 trophy won since McInnes come in. I've got a feeling this could be Derek McInnes last season in charge of us but I feel he has done a fantastic job and don't think there is anyone out there that can do a better job at present
  20. Falkirk Chief Executive released a statement yesterday which included this bit about us: Think Aberdeen contacted them as they have changed the statement to:
  21. After the elbows incidents including the Scottish cup final he was going to be target for refs so it was best he moved on. Got to remember Zander Diamond was Player of the season at Exeter City level so I don’t look at that goals record too much as it is miles behind our level.
  22. 16 appearances and 8 goals is a great return- was impressed how he destroyed Rangers. Think the Motherwell manager worked with him previously
  23. I hope the offer of a new contract to O’Connor will be taken off the table - not because of that comment (could care less what thick footballers think) but because the performances from him have not be the standard we require. No doubt a few more Aberdeen fans will turn on the manger but I’m still backing him. I believe a decent season is qualifying for Europe, anything else is unacceptable. If he does fail then I think he deserves another chance next season as the previous 4 have been good. Recruitment has been dreadful this season and he can’t get it wrong next season.
  24. It may get worse for them as it may have been the case that they have been getting freedom of information using a pseudonym. Can understand using a pseudonym to media if they are getting online abuse but if they used it to get freedom of information then what has they thinking as that could get them into legal trouble.
