  1. While I'm sure the board would have loved to have got an extra £500k for Moult this summer it's really not the end of the world. He's been more than worth what we paid for him (possibly worth more than the £500k we've speculated as a possible fee). Would our board have imagined we'd have got to much for Heneghan so soon and so much from Johnson's future fee clause so soon? I very much doubt it. Looking back I think they will see this window as having gone perfectly. Louis would have been so much harder to replace than Ben (there is a good chance this Hartley may be a more accomplished centre back and might be an improvement in the short term). With our new transfer strategy of signing youngish players for a small fee to develop and sell on there are really 3 outcomes: 1) Player does well and we sell him for cash and % of future transfer like Johnson. 2) Player does well but our valuation isn't met and he goes for nothing at the end of their contract (99% Moult). 3) Player does shite and we release them. (Thankfully can't really come up with an example!). As long as the majority of these signings end up with either the first or second outcomes and with more 1s than 3s then we'll be fine. With our recent recruitment (Les era) we seem to be doing just that.
  2. Aye? Out of all our summer signings he's the one I thought has looked the best. I'm honestly surprised more SO posters don't move over here. Don't know how they can handle it.
  3. The St Johnstone and Kilmarnock game apart I thought Ferguson always done ok. He was certainly no more of a liability than some of our more experienced first choice defenders last season (and a lot less of a liability than SCOTLAND UNDER 21 INTERNATIONALIST Zak Jules).
  4. When you add in Thomas and Ainsworth (who would really not be of much use as part of the midfield 3) we've effectively got 6 attackers for 3 places in the starting line up. Would we look to add a seventh? I doubt it unfortunately.Even though he's very close to being of first team quality, I'd shift Thomas out on loan this season. We've seen how the likes of Erwin and Moore have benefited from a spell in the lower divisions in recent years, and I'm sure Ferguson and Mackin will have as well. Although he'd probably be of use to us this season, I don't think we'd really miss him. Johnson is way ahead of him, and Ainsworth would likely be preferred over him as well. I'd loan him out and try and bring in another centre forward, whether it's a young guy with potential to sell on, or someone in loan from down south. I think Moore is decent, but I wouldn't like to rely on him if Moult/McDonald were to break a leg or something. I'm not too concerned about our attacking options tbf (as long as McDonald stays). Whatever McGhee does or doesn't do we'll probably have better options there than most. It's what happens with our defence and central midfield that will be key...
  5. My work had us downgrade from "Kind Regards" to "Best Regards" as it just seemed a bit much. I normally just put "Cheers" as I hate how formal some people can be.This is maybe not quite so much a business-speak complaint as it is a general work annoyance. Our communications team had us change our email footer half a dozen times in the space of a couple of days while they were trying to find a format which would allow people reading our emails on a smartphone to dial our phone numbers with just a touch of the screen. Our phone numbers were to be changed from +44 (0) **** ****** to 0 **** ****** to 44 **** ****** before finally settling on 0044 **** ****** (amongst other changes). It was infuriating and will be utterly pointless. I very much doubt a customer would go to a competitor just because he can dial one of their salesman's numbers easier from his blackberry emails. Also, how and why is faxing still a thing? The first thing I do when I get a fax is scan it so I can save it on my computer and/or email it to someone.
  6. No tickets left according to the website and the girl on the phone just there. I meant to buy some last night when I got in from the gym but completely forgot. I'll have to try and source some from elsewhere nearer the time.
  7. My work doesn't really seem to be too bad for this corporate language nonsense. The only one I can think of is some people's insistence on using the word "advised" instead of "said" or "told" etc. It's really quite annoying and a lot of the time it doesn't make sense.
  8. I'm away down to Cheshire this afternoon for my work's national sales meeting/conference that's on on Thursday and Friday. Expect hourly updates.
  9. There's a guy at my work who's name is Cy. It's pronounced like 'Si', but it's not even short for anything (like Cymon). When I first saw it written down I was sure it was some sort of typo or maybe he was foreign or something, but no, that's his name. It must cause him some amount of hassle.
  10. Just open your windows and turn the heating up full blast. Give it a few mins and it'll be right as rain
  11. It's not that bad. The vast majority of questions are basically just common sense. Just make sure you read the questions/answers thoroughly and think it through. Like others have said, the hazard perception is a wee bit trickier but still easily passable. Again, just read the instructions and don't be scared to click the mouse. Good luck
  12. Right enough. I've not been to KFC in donkeys but I used to get extra chips instead of one of the shitty sides with a box meal. Felt like a champion every time I did it.
  13. I love a good bit of salad when I'm out for dinner. Somehow restaurants can make leaves taste better. #extracoleslawplease
  14. My mate has a completely irrational hatred of dear old Pardew as well. He's despised him for years, and several times I've asked him why and his response has always just been, "he's an evil, evil man". What is it you, and him, aren't telling us?
  15. I think the football is genuinely a big help in these situations. It's one thing that'll always draw my full attention anyway (it's hard to not care about your team!). Here's to a Hibees win.
