Starting to see a rise in the particularly VL behaviour of the opponent going quite far ahead, and then pausing as if to say "go on, rage quit then". Guy went 3-0 up and did it (usually pretty easy to spot, as they immediately continue rather than spending a while making a sub. I usually quit Rivals games if it seems like it's going that way and they go at least 3 up, but never like to give people like that what they want. Got it back to 3-2 and had a chance for the equaliser as he started to wobble, but he went straight back up the other end and got one. And of course shush celebration. Ended up 5-3 (another shush for his 5th) unfortunately, really thought I could get back in it. Anyway, away from absolute virgins, finally had some decent pack luck and got Ikone Future Stars. Had heard good things about him, and given I'm looking to go a bit Ligue 1, he's a big boost. Worth 270k now, and I suspect that'll rise a wee bit once the promo ends. Doubt I'll sell him though, he seems very, very good at the moment just behind Osimhen. 900k currently saved up, swithering between Ben Yedder and Mbappe

I won't say there's absolutely no way we'll get specific Prime Icon SBCs, as if EA smell the money they'll always be tempted, but I'm 99% sure we won't. They said at the start of FIFA20 that no Icon SBCs would be made available, and it's rare they actually come out and confirm things like that. They're driving Swaps hard, and SBCs would completely undermine that. We'll get Mid Icon SBC soon though, perhaps tonight. It'll be here for a month or so, then probably return for a little while in future. Then a Prime Icon SBC in Summer once people start getting bored.

I took Keane and Giggs from the first set, and then Moore, van der Sar and Zambrotta from the second set. Giggs is essentially useless now after I packed Neymar. Keane was similar, but I ended up using him a lot recently for chemistry reasons, and he still stacks up. Moore was very useful when I played 3 at the back, but now I've moved back to a 4, he's very much the third in line and will only play when one of the others are suspended. VDS will probably play more often than not, and Zambrotta will likely be in my side until the end of the game. Is it worth the time I put into the game to get them? Well I was going to be playing the game anyway, so I may as well play towards something. Wouldn't say I regret putting the time into that.

Doolan: 39 games, 6 goals, 2 assists, 447 minutes a goal Miller: 32 games, 10 goals, 1 assist, 267 minutes a goal So undoubtedly, Miller did better based on the stats, but once you start to take into account the much bigger cost, then it's not really that much of an improvement.

Yeah, definitely. I'm around 10 miles as the crow flies from Hampden, and it's still a fucking ball-ache to get home from a mid-week evening game. I dread to think what it's like for anyone who lives outside Glasgow or the surrounding areas.

I did think as I was posting it that it was a bit pointlessly bleak. I more meant that if we can't sell out such an important game, then it's a really poor look for the SFA. We've always been very good with attendances, but the last year has clearly broken a few people. If we fail in March, I doubt we'll be going into World Cup Qualifying (which is almost impossible to get out of) with much confidence, and certainly not much interest from the fans. Slightly less bleak there. Slightly.

Went through enough Swaps tokens to get Zambrotta to add to the Moore I already had, going through 4 of the Online ones and 1 of the Offline. Given there's no-one between 6 and 10 tokens, I'll go for VDS and skip the final two tokens. Glad I don't have to go into the WL, and it'll save me doing one of the "play 6 SB games" ones.

It's probably the cynic in me, but I could definitely see him being asked not to appear in the international matches anyway, even if he gets back to the Villa side before then. Definitely doesn't seem the type to want to do that, but could see it happening.

If there is evidence that it causes problems later in life, then absolutely something should be done to protect kids from that, but...well, is the evidence we currently have from players old enough for it to happen even applicable? We've seen cases of players getting fairly severe issues linked with heading the ball, but back then the balls were likely considerably heavier and more unfriendly than what is used now. Granted, we don't have any data yet on what today's balls are doing, and I wouldn't know whether this would even be possible. But I'm hardly the sort of person that has the knowledge or data to make the decision. If it's affecting anything, even in a minor sense, then that's fair enough. Although I am speaking as someone who grew up playing head-height 5s for most of my formative years, leading to someone with the jumping and heading ability of a guillotine victim.

I quite enjoyed the Rivals objectives for Swaps. Gets me using squads I never would normally use, and I never find I'm that bad when I'm playing. It's the squad battles ones that I really fucking hate. So utterly tedious. So here's to the prospect of another forty million Squad Battles matches that'll get announced tonight. Yippee.

I'd try your hand at some of the lower icons given you've got the coins. Particularly if it's one where the price has levelled out and you won't lose much. I always liked Shearer, and Vieri was serviceable. Using Klose at the moment and he seems OK, although not quite as impactful as I'd hoped. With Mertens and Insigne behind, a big ol' b*****d up front might be the best option to hold it up. All three of the above would probably fit for that. Or given you've got far more coins than they'll need, maybe push the boat out and get a more exciting icon

He's certainly the worst. Closely followed by Jack with the "Oh, I'm kind of awkward really" gimmick. Even though I expect they've gotten a lot better - must've been quite hard at the beginning when their most charismatic member got canned - their biggest fans make it all the worse. The usual toxic parts of fandom turned up to 11. Urgh. They seem to be doing well though, and good luck to them. Except Ross. f**k off Ross.

I think I must be fairly alone in the fact that I could never take to Cultaholic. I enjoyed the original WhatCulture, but once they punted Blampied, it became clear that he was really holding a lot together. Pacitti played off really well against him, and I couldn't fucking stand the rest of the "characters". Also couldn't stand the smug "Name Redacted" stuff that just came across like wee weans who've never had a proper job. I'd imagine it's gotten better though. Good to see Blampied back doing something though. Hopefully he's gotten past the milking it phase of his exile, some of the "come on guuuuuys, we ALL need to do better" stuff was utter w**k. But he has the charisma and presence to be really good at this stuff, and there's no reason why he shouldn't be doing it.
