  1. Crikey... They'll be in trouble with the DUP over copyright issues... The DUP are already known as the Political Wing of the Old Testament. Who do these chancers think they are? Maybe they are forming a new UK party with the DUP to represent those who'd prefer to live in the Dark Ages. I'm in Edinburgh and appear to be a scarce commodity around here... I'm a Rangers fan, I have always supported the SNP, can't stand Royalty and I'm an atheist. (I don't think there's many of us about!) The consensus appears to be that in these parts the best votes to secure the best pro-indy outcome is SNP for the FPTP constituency and Green for the regional list. Unless anything major happens, I can't see much to change that approach. Always happy to hear of additional views...
  2. Given some of the earlier posts, someone has to say "Gordon's alive" so it might as well be me. I'll get my coat.
  3. As penance for my negativity, I have stuck £3 on 4-1 Scotland at 20/1. I'm trusting the Scottish defence not to let me down.
  4. On the basis that every silver lining has a cloud, the Faroes have denied their opponents maximum points in 70% of these games....
  5. He would make announcing the Scottish squad sound like an appalling threat, which would be an improvement in itself.
  6. This is just getting too cheerful, isn't it? Still, there are 13 teams that we have a 100% win record for, so it's not all bad. Pity that we can't have a qualifying group of us plus Malta, Gibraltar, San Marino, and the Hong Kong League 11, but I suppose you can't have EVERYTHING....
  7. I started looking at results since 2000 of teams that have scored against us, but it was too depressing, with highlights such as Latvia, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Macedonia, and Lithuania... when I reached the dizzy heights of Trinidad and Tobago, I decided against any further research!
  8. Now you've done it. He'll probably score a hat trick now. (If he's the goalie, maybe just the 2.) An easy Scottish win would be great, with a couple of goals in the first 15 mins to settle the nerves. However as I'm in my 60s, experience tells me that we'll be hanging on for dear life to a one goal lead at 85 mins, possibly with 10 men. Quick chorus of "Always look on the bright side of life" any time now.
  9. ..... Just total . Cashed out my bet as I can't see it staying 5-1
  10. Errr.. What? I've been watching Scotland too much. Can't t get used to this attacking football stuff.
  11. As someone with a soft spot for the Rovers, may I say "Yaaaaaaas"
  12. I think it's just the sickening realisation that another qualification is down the toilet after 2 games. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong but won't resume any hope until Denmark and Austria drop points against the likes of Israel. I stopped believing in magic years ago.
  13. Bit harsh to be talking about human sacrifice, the second half might be better.
  14. I refer to my earlier post. Isn't it remarkable that football makes sane people do insane things? 11/1 ffs.
  15. I was as well, but so many folk seem optimistic that I might start on the bevvy early. Anaesthetic might help dispel the feeling of impending doom.....
  16. I think I'll take an interest in snap as the world of football is effing mental. With 10 mins to go Armenia (rank 116) are beating Iceland (rank 16) 2-0. Not a friendly, a world cup qualifying match.
  17. Hi. Simple, really. One or two points out of six just won't do. I'm done with needing other teams to do us favours- I can't remember the last time anyone did. We need to be winning the group and if we end up second, that'll have to do. Every point dropped is a disaster. 7 out of 9 would be just about tolerable but 4 out of 9? Nope. Ever the optimist, I've stuck a fiver on Scotland to win 2-0 at 11/1!
  18. I hear that Steve Clarke thinks that points targets are unnecessary. Cant agree with that. Here's one target and a prediction... if Scotland don't win tonight, the qualification objective is over after the first 2 games.
  19. Must confess to a wee liking for the Rovers. I was at Ibrox in '94 for the Coca-Cola cup final. Hard not to appreciate them after that match. I've stuck a tenner on them at 2/1 for old time' s sake. Good luck Rovers!
