  1. As far back as his debut at Cove. Parry at least has won us a point on opening day. Leighfield has contributed nothing positive.
  2. Elgin started like a train in fairness, pressed high up the pitch, but they puffed themselves out after about 20 and we have settled down. The temptation with Allan is to try and hit him long all the time and whilst that resulted in a great chance for a second, it also gives up possession too often. Some stinking performances from Leighfield, Dunachie, Howie. Not sure any of the rest have been that great. Big second half ahead.
  3. Leitch has only really been effective behind the striker, hence Rennie being pushed wide on Saturday after 15 minutes. It will be interesting to see how we start this one. I'd also not be dropping Lyon after Saturday. Dunachie goes out if McGinn is coming in. If McGinn has been scouted and we know he is decent then he has to start regardless.
  4. They've been out at the away exit the last two times we were up and they were winding up the wrong people on the first of those occasions (there was noone there second time to react to their nonsense). It's maybe worth an intervention before something actually happens, they probably only get away with it as they're on the young side.
  5. We have the fewest clean sheets in Scotland. If we do get King back then we should have enough in the attacking third (starters and depth). But we desperately need to sort ourselves at full back and in goals. East Fife and Spartans have mustered a total of two shots on target in the last two away games, and both have ended up as goals.
  6. That's twice where Spartans have spent large parts of a home game against us just sitting in their own half. Bizarre. They've got some decent footballers, and they'd be much better jettisoning Blair Henderson for someone who moves. We didn't create enough but if we start keeping clean sheets then that's not an issue. Another rubbish bit of defending today. Hamilton was excellent, as was Ross Lyon. Scullion really unlucky to hit the bar. I thought Howie was poor today but his floor is so high he's still a massive improvement. We really need to stop playing Dunachie at full back. Allan exactly the same as before. He'll score a goal but not hold the ball up well, or make the right decision in possession. Still, he is another big improvement. You sense we aren't far away but until the wins start coming, there's always going to be a worry there.
  7. We've been the better team, stung for a wee bit by the equaliser which again came as a result of not having competent full backs. We really should have fashioned a second goal.
  8. What's the deal with the floodlights? Will they be fixed for Tuesday?
  9. He is only 18, again like King he physically looks a bit older than that. He strikes me as a player who plays like he had a real burst of pace, but in reality he doesn't (whilst not being slow). There's certainly been a lot of poorer Clyde players than him but you'd imagine this will see us using the loan spot on someone better.
  10. He can kick the ball fairly cleanly, as in he'll probably finish a chance or two, possibly even from distance. Unfortunately for a wee guy, he simply isn't quick enough or good on the dribble. Him and that Faye from Bonnyrigg would probably be the worst pairing ever seen at L1 level.
  11. Pleased with that, between him, Rennie and Young we should get some goals. The whole move to Falkirk didn't really work for anyone.
  12. Nowhere near, £24k per team. Same for Viaplay. Prize money for getting knocked out in round 5 is almost £50k though, in comparison to the £20k we will just have got.
  13. I've been advocating signing Jasu Rely for a while now. On King, I agree the last game showed exactly how he should be played. Freedom to drift off a wide position, and less defensive responsibility. That said, using loan deals on him AND Leslie doesn't seem right to me.
  14. I'm only watching this to see Falkirk papped out, so they've done the right thing leaving it until later in the programme.
  15. I thought Aberdeen were one of the poorest "big" teams we have played against. Really one-paced and not particularly physical either. Usually these teams overrun us with pace and power on top of their technical ability. Obviously the class told with the opening goal but they looked like they were missing quite a bit of spark. Their number 14 was more than a bit lucky to get away with a coward's challenge on Grant; no idea how the referee waved play on. We huffed and puffed and put effort in. Could easily have got a goal. You'd hope only really four or five of those would be starting in our team come the end of January.
  16. I'd sub Rennie and Young off and get them to watch Miovski's movement. Absolutely sensational. Given the team we have got out we are doing as well as can be expected. You can see why Aberdeen struggle against better sides.
  17. It's a stretch to say McCall is our third manager this season as well, and the same article also claims our current two match unbeaten run is our only such run this season.
  18. There are a limited number of loans allowed and presumably very few free agents available (we should have gone in heavier on Edinburgh castoffs). The obvious way to strengthen is through transfer fees, which will no doubt end up bloated. We just need to suck that up at this stage and pay over the odds. It can be reined back in the summer. If the club had been managed properly then there wouldn't be a need to panic.
  19. It looks like Flynn Duffy is off to Peterhead again. This is all a bit embarrassing.
  20. Anyone available for transfer should definitely be considered. I think we are constrained somewhat by limits on loan deals. That said, there are real issues as to why a player that good is a) playing at that level and b) being allowed to leave. Then there's the bizarre Stenny loan deal as well.
  21. There's an obvious improvement and we played pretty well today but we need to turn games like that into wins and get closer to those above asap. Especially as there is a massive drop off if one of those midfielders/centre halves misses out, as Cuddihy did for half an hour. The lack of competent full backs is more obvious when the rest of the side looks stronger. East Fife were terrible, as so many sides in this division are, but got a point. We have rarely played that bad and got anything other than a hiding.
  22. We've not created much outside the goal but we have definitely been the better side. The four players in centre half and centre midfield are so proactive and aggressive in winning the ball.
