Morelos has been terrible this season in front of goal. Roofe hasn’t played all that many games and even less as the main striker. If Dykes had played every game this season for Rangers I don’t think he’d be far off 20. I do agree though that scoring is not really what he brings for us, but his presence has helped enormously. My only concern is we get lazy and become reliant on the long ball, especially against the top teams (where there will be a temptation to do so).

If he’d gone to Rangers he’d probably be on about 20 goals by now and everybody would think we’ve struck gold. He’s probably better off where he is though, playing against better defenders and gradually improving his game.

I wouldn’t put Gallagher there. Hanley, Hendry, Souttar and McCrorie would all be contenders.

The back three was to get Tierney and Robertson both on the pitch, I’m certain of that.

Gauld is playing at a higher level than the SPFL and is playing extremely well.

I think James Forrest and Ryan Gauld will also be contenders for the second attacker spot. Dykes aside, the main striker spot is a bit grim.

McTominay was a winger/attacker all the way through youth levels prior to his very late and astonishing growth spurt.

I’m keen to see Hendry on the right of the three. He’s got unbelievable pace and I thought he was excellent in his Scotland appearances. Seemingly he’s the real deal now and this gives a good chance to get McTominay in midfield. This in turn gives us extra height in the team for set pieces.

No particular problem with Gallagher. He can defend his box but not much else. I rated Hendry before he went to Belgium, at least in terms of his potential.. He’s now rated as one of the best in the league and I’m pleased but not surprised. We all know Hendry’s team would destroy Gallagher’s team.

The reason I went for those three is because it gives us genuine pace right across the back and players comfortable in playing it out or taking it up the park. Defensively I’m not sure there’s much in it between those, Cooper, Hanley and Gallagher. Hendry could come into the squad for the WC qualifiers and take it from there.

McTominay, McGinn and Gilmour would be an amazing middle three. Although maybe Jack for Gilmour at the Euros depending on the next few months. Hendry (or Hanley), McKenna, Tierney in defence.

Yes, he’s also good around the edge of the opposition box, and can pass it into the corners of the goal.

Wales have a few promising players but I believe we will blow them out the water over the next decade. The lad needs to have a think. Maybe he doesn’t fancy his chances.

Regarding the OP, no punishment at all. 7 game bans however for all staff who breached local and elite player guidelines.

If Gilmour doesn’t break into the Chelsea team during this wobble then I see him going on loan, probably to Rangers. He’d then have a fair chance of going to the Euros, especially if he excels in the three WC qualifiers. Gauld also has those qualifiers to get in the Euro squad. I could easily see him playing off the main striker, although there are 4 or 5 others in the same category.
