  1. John has pace and I’m glad he’s the one we’ve got. I just hope he can get over his injury and hit top form again. He will get a big move to a better league if he does.
  2. He’s playing a bit deeper rather than as a number 9, I believe. Nisbet is EPL quality from what I can see.
  3. Harry Souttar is actually very comfortable on the ball but he’s somewhat on the slow side.
  4. Even at different tables? That seems ill thought out and indeed completely mental.
  5. The players broke the rules (that we are not party to) between the Scottish government, SPFL and SFA and Aberdeen should be punished, accordingly. The players did not break rules that apply to the wider public. The 3 household rule only applies to non-risk assessed indoor places such as homes - pubs are exempt because they have mitigation procedures in place with a 1 metre social distancing rule.
  6. Only applies to non-risk assessed premises i.e. doesn’t apply to pubs. How could it?
  7. Actually restaurants and pubs have a 1 metre distancing exemption if properly risk assessed. Is there a rule saying only 3 households per pub? I don’t live in Scotland, so not asking for a friend.
  8. Greater numbers are allowed if a 2 meter distance is maintained.
  9. The Aberdeen players were apparently guilty of breaking the governments rules pertaining to footballers. As far as I can see they didn’t break any rules for the general public. Given that they had been tested by their club prior to the game and presumably hadn’t trained since, I very much doubt if they spread the virus and actually were far more likely to have picked it up from the public post-game. If they’ve broken rules for players, fair enough, throw the book at them. It is questionable whether pubs or restaurants should be open in the first place, though. I’m sure there were plenty of non-footballers staggering about pished on the evening in question who didn’t get at test a few days later. All that said, players should be straight home after beaten by their biggest rivals.
  10. See psychologically broken comment above.
  11. The performance schools are there to ensure that time spent working on technique is greatly increased for promising players. It is calculated as an extra 200 hours of coaching per year (presumably compared with a regular school). One must assume that involves a lot of ball work. The evidence is in the hugely improved technique (and results) of the u17s and 19s. I’ve been watching youth teams for years. We’ve always been competitive but that was by playing strong runners with not much in the way of technique - those players inevitably falling short as they lacked the skill set for top level men’s football. Players are selected by skill on the ball now, because they have it, and have the game awareness to apply it.
  12. Can’t agree, cycling doesn’t involve much skill for a kick off. That’s all about fitness. Footballers need to work on their technique from as young an age as possible and the more hours they spend on it the better.
  13. That’s too old to truelu master technique. That needs to be done younger and with a huge amount of repetitions.
  14. Don’t be scared. Say he should be called up. He’s miles better than our other strikers.
  15. It’s nothing to do with goals, it’s because he’s left the four Old Firm centre halves blowing out their arses and practically in tears after 180 minutes of football. He’ll play for Australia of course.
  16. You may be right, although Taylor’s hardly kicked a ball so I’m not sure he’d be in anyway.
  17. However, the one player we sorely lacked in the recent games was one who could take the ball off the centre halves and get it moving. Gilmour (and Barry Ferguson) to a tee.
  18. Aaron Hickey, soon, if not immediately.
  19. Yes, but the current players you mention did not go through the Performance Schools. The oldest one is 19. It’s that age and under that needs to be judged.
  20. He is seemingly genuinely two footed and can play either side. It just so happens his early games with Hearts were at left back. He could just have easily been put on the right.
  21. Stewart is a player that needs to watched closely. He seems to have pace, is very tall and can finish. Let’s see how he does this season and if big clubs start circling.
