  1. Where did these figures come from? A similar list I saw last year (unfortunately , I don't know the source !) had very different figures in some instances, e.g Hamilton on higher average salaries than Livingston, St Mirren and Motherwell.
  2. Previous two home games had around 130 and 160, although the latter was against Ardrossan, who brought a few more supporters than most teams in this league. Would say that Hill still have higher home crowds than most in this league, despite being in the bottom half of the league.
  3. Carluke have a very small support at home games, and even fewer at away games! They were by far the better team , and fully deserved to win, although Maryhill were without their two main strikers. Estimated attendance was around 110. Full match report at Maryhill FC Facebook page.
  4. Why not go for a compromise and have 2.30pm kick offs, and then everybody would be happy(?)
  5. Excellent post, and sums up the situation perfectly in my view. Whenever there is an injury on an artificial surface, we never hear the end of it, but injuries on grass pitches get no such comments.
  6. Shettleston, Ardrossan and Lesmahagow would be my predictions for promotion. On form,Lanark are a match for anyone, but seem too inconsistent.
  7. A pretty good start yesterday, winning 7-4 against Bellshill. A truly amazing game. Full match report on Maryhill facebook page.
  8. Exactly. Thanks. Wasn't at the game today, but will accept general view that he didn't play well. Any time I have seen him he has been impressive (for first team and reserves), and he has played several times at international level, so can't be that bad! As has been stated, he is 17. He will have bad games - it happens!
  9. Guessing that it must have been something he said - abusive language?
  10. I think that this sums up the situation pretty well. They even play rugby on them now! Won't be able to prove this as I won't be here (!), but I reckon that in about 30 years max, most if not all football matches will be played on artificial surfaces, and folk will look back in disbelief that grass pitches were ever used, and that games could be cancelled because of rain.
  11. Watched this game as a neutral, and doubt if I will see a better game all season. Credit to both teams for a fantastic performance, although being 4-3 up on 90 minutes and losing must be hard to take for Glens fans.
  12. Yes, probably. The way the Maryhill defence has been playing recently, it's not too difficult! Seriously etc, I have seen Lanark a few times recently, and have been impressed. I have followed the fortunes of Maryhill for many years, but now live four miles from Lanark, so they are my local team!
  13. Ah, good point. I hadn't thought of that, although I have seen keepers only get a yellow for a similar offence. Of course, if you think of it as denying a goal scoring opportunity, which it would have been, then def a red! But, let's face it, missing it was never really on. I am 68, and have a bad back, but pretty confident I would have scored in that situation.
  14. Well done to Lanark, but Kerr will rarely get such gift wrapped opportunities. The third, in particular, should get an award for high comedy content!
  15. The dates for rounds 1-6 of the Scottish Junior Cup are on the SJFA website under "SJFA NEWS".
  16. Website actually says £5 for CHILDREN and £10 for adults. This suggests that over 65s charge is £10 which would make it more expensive than the Betfred Cup games which are usually £12 and £6 for concessions! Surely some mistake?
  17. I don't know anything about the new keeper, Williams, apart from recalling him playing for ICT, so can someone enlighten me as to where all this negativity about him is coming from?
  18. Aye, maybe they would like the league positions to be determined on a count of supporters. Then, we could eliminate all this time consuming nonsense of actually playing games. I mean, we all have other things we could be doing on a Saturday afternoon!
  19. Well said! Tired of hearing this nonsense about teams which 'deserve' to be in the top league. It is how many points you have, not how many supporters or how much money you have that determine a team's league position.
