I think January will be pretty busy. If there’s money there, I think the board will be pretty content for it to be spent. Regardless of their previous mistakes, I don’t think they’d get a guy like McCall in without backing him. Nor do I think McCall would take the job without such assurances. As things stand at the minute, we could be 8 points behind Elgin come 5pm a week on Saturday (yes I know, we could overtake them depending on how things go) but we’ll need to absolutely on the ball with who we bring in.

I contacted another Lanarkshire club (who play pretty close by) to transfer their funds. I told them I’d keep it safe for them. Suckers…

This is reminding me of a Clyde v Cowdenbeath game from 2016. It finished 5-3 to Clyde but was an absolutely woeful game. Very similar thus far.

Very diplomatically put but I’m sure McCall is under no illusions as to what he saw today. I fully agree that 2 or 3 out of the whole squad were “okay” and nothing more. Truthfully, I still find having a guy who actually sounds like a football manager refreshing compared to monotone McLean.

The most entertaining thing, by far, was the Dutch guys during the crossbar challenge. Do any of them fancy a game? As I mentioned in the other thread, Maitland’s insight on a few things was very interesting and explained a lot. He made it quite clear that he was not at all impressed with Jim Duffy. He also made some assurances that there will be changes to the squad come the transfer window which is about the only thing stopping me from a feeling of eternal doom.
