Thankfully Elgin are two down.

I’d 100% vote for automatic relegation if it were up to me. The play-off is 100% short-term benefit to favour the League Two club and truthfully, I’d feel better if Clyde were relegated knowing they wouldn’t have to go through the play-off for a chance to go back up.

In a partly related note, surely it’s about time Highland and Lowland League clubs started adhering to the same transfer windows as those in the leagues above?

Desperately hoping we can somehow avoid three cricket scores over the next three weeks and a plethora of signings are announced ASAP in January.

That’s a real shame for Jardine. Must be psychologically absolutely brutal. I always think about Lewis Vaughn’s injury troubles and am pleased that he now seems to be kicking on and staying injury free. Hopefully Jardine can do the same in the future.

It’s not often I’d prefer a trip to Elgin midweek but if this could be postponed until mid-January, that’d be brilliant.

Never seen us play Aberdeen before and they should bring a decent crowd down. Happy with that!

Fairly comfortable in the end and we navigated another potentially difficult tie without too much hassle. Not going to analyse the game too much as the league is obviously still a huge problem but it’s nice to not come away from a game thoroughly miserable for a change. Leighfield was much better tonight, including his absolute worldie at the end. Centre-halves were fine and Cameron was playing well until his red card (don’t get me started on that). Huge problems remain in the obvious areas, but that’s not going to change until at least January. Give us Rangers/Celtic away please (or another winnable tie obviously).

You’ll never convince me anyone in this team was worse than some of the Stuart Millar/Duffy first time round squads. For as rubbish as Ross Lyon is, I’d take him over John Kane every time. He’s also head and tails above guys like Hendji, Jack Sloss and Craig Tully to name but a few. We’re still clearly absolutely dugmeat, but I do think the division as a whole is stronger than it was 10-15 years ago.

Some fantastic production from East Fife to be fair to them. Quite astonishingly bad goalkeeping from Leighfield there. The third one is almost worst than the first. It’s pretty much straight at him! Lyon just doing his usual for the second goal.

Forfar may be the team to catch after all…

I think January will be pretty busy. If there’s money there, I think the board will be pretty content for it to be spent. Regardless of their previous mistakes, I don’t think they’d get a guy like McCall in without backing him. Nor do I think McCall would take the job without such assurances. As things stand at the minute, we could be 8 points behind Elgin come 5pm a week on Saturday (yes I know, we could overtake them depending on how things go) but we’ll need to absolutely on the ball with who we bring in.

I contacted another Lanarkshire club (who play pretty close by) to transfer their funds. I told them I’d keep it safe for them. Suckers…
