2nd  game in a row when Killies finishing 11 (or 10 in this case) end up better than the starting 11, with the subs making all the difference.

How McKenzie, Polworth and Robinson didn't start the game I don't know, but they made some difference .

Poor, flat, 1st half from Killie with the obligatory cheap goal thrown in.Good character to dig in with 10 men and what a strike by Polworth.

Agree that had Well flooded the midfield with a man advantage they should have been able to see it out though.

Polworth didn't start because against Hearts he was absolutely dreadful. Worse than a man down. McKenzie should always start and I think Robinson just isn't ready to be in the starting eleven yet.

That is one way of looking at it. The other is that we were by far the better team 11v11. Had it stayed that way we probably would have won. But Killie had to go and get a man sent off.

I suspect that is now a tactic by opposition Managers. “Hey guys we are 3-0 down to Motherwell with 5 minutes left. Somebody break a leg and get a red card”. That was a great 4-3 win and comeback.

Once the red mist clears. It was a decent performance up to the red card. Killie did not look good tonight. Getting Lafferty back may be key for them. But apart from self destructing I take solace in the fact that Killie did look to me a poorer side all told.

I'd have said the same after the win against Motherwell earlier in the season.

Motherwell tonight took the lead after being the better of two bad sides and then doubled it after some hoachin' defending. I'd be more worried about conceding two goals to ten men after that and then not being able to break down a team with Rory McKenzie at left back.

Motherwell are bang in the relegation fight along with us, County and Dundee United and it's going to be January that decides who will go down.

  3. Well that was weird.

Absolutely dreadful but a sending off and we suddenly turn into a decent football team. How Robbo didn't start is beyond me.

To the positives... Don't think there's been a better goal scored than Polworth's and who knew (me) that Rory McKenzie should start every game for Kilmarnock?! However, if Motherwell can't see off a ten man Kilmarnock (especially this Kilmarnock team) then they're in big trouble. I can see why their fans are worried.

Depends what your definition of “better” is but there are literally dozens of other folk I’d rather watch and/or listen to.

On TV/PPV, Punk was absolutely fantastic. He didn't have a bad segment and gave AEW a significant shot in the arm.

Off-screen and it's a different situation. If he's caused even a percentage of the problems he's reported to have then it's probably best they're rid. Saying that...

Call me a mark, but I don't think he's done. He's not daft, nor is the Elite, and certainly TK isn't. There's a lot of money on the table if they want it and I can see him coming back at Revolution to start a feud with the Elite. Punk and FTR challenging for the Trios titles which then spills into Punk v Omega.

Either way, the last few weeks of Dynamite have been fantastic. Roll on 2023.

  5. Actually looking forward to tonight. We showed something different in the second half on Saturday, especially when Robinson came on, and we surely have to win away from home eventually... Would like Wales to continue upfront as he was decent at Tynecastle and possibly Doidge alongside?

Hopefully we at least see full-backs played at full-back which would be a start.

    2-1 Killie.

Not quite for me. Dicker often has a mad 15 mins, where he has a few dodgy misplaced passes (usually at the start of games), but he then drags himself back into the game and never goes missing. Be it age, experience or just a will to win but I feel Tish is lacking that.

Still young and on his day a better player than Dicker but for me he just needs to find that other level that some players can pull out.

Delighted with the signing though, great squad being built.

Aye that's pretty accurate about Dicker. Still, we need to start looking forward - Dicker and Power won't go on forever, and both started showing signs last season that they might be on the wane. Great against Rangers or Celtic but lacking something in games we're expected to control.

  7. Happy enough with the transfer business so far. Agree that we need to bring in another centre-back, and although Broadfoot has been fine if he or Findlay pick up an injury we're then reliant on a 19-year-old with no senior appearances to step up (or move Dicker).

Tshibola signing today is excellent and hopefully settling down somewhere he knows will get the best out of him. All things being equal he starts in midfield ahead of Dicker for me.

  8. Aye your spot on. They have nothing to lose by doing it as it sits empty anyway.

Watched the sportscene highlights earlier on I player. Looks brilliant with a crowd like that. Falkirk really added to the occasion as well by bringing through a great support. I could be wrong here as but did Killie not average 9/10 thousand not so long ago ? It was great to see Lee Clarks celebrations at the goals too.

Giving away free tickets has had no long-term impact on attendances for us. If we have a team playing well, one that the fans can be proud of and a change in the boardroom then fans will come back.

  9. Why has Slater been released?  Looked the best player on the park yesterday, or was that just a one off?

Slater is excellent, although going by his comments on Twitter it was his decision.

Addison also looked a big, handy unit at the back in both play off games.

    I'd love to keep Addison.

  10. Norwich were in the Championship when Neil went there.

Even so, I think the days of that happening are gone bar a few exceptions. You've only got to look at the brilliant work done by Tommy Wright and Robbie Neilson and they barely get a mention for jobs down south. Granted Lee Clark has a bigger reputation down there, but unless he wins the league at Killie the best he can hope for is a mid-table Championship team. Newcastle, for example.

  11. Kilmarnock aren't based in Glasgow, though.

I think you get my point - doesn't the sight of kids wearing BigotBros tops around the town piss you off more than those with, say, Barcelona or Real Madrid? There's a massive difference between a liking for a "tv team" who might get the occasional (ie once or twice a season) visitors from abroad, and a growing affinity for either of the big Glasgow sides, who stand to make a lot more if wee Johnny tips up regularly at their ground for his live fix.

Please note that I'm basing this solely on football, as well.

As far as I'm aware, they pick up in Kilmarnock too. After checking, there is an Ayrshire branch too.

On your second point you're correct however. Kilmarnock's biggest rivals for customers are Rangers, Celtic and lethargy. All this situation is doing is enforcing the point that you shouldn't bother supporting Killie because at the end of the day only two clubs in Scotland really matter. As I said earlier in the thread, we need to start doing our best to promote Kilmarnock F.C. itself rather than pander to the Old Firm fans for a cheap buck. We don't do enough in the local area to help encourage kids to start supporting Killie and haven't done for decades. Jim Mann in his letter to shareholders seems to believe that if we offer cheap tickets then that should be enough to just magically produce supporters but it doesn't work like that. Cheap tickets only work if they're brought in alongside a sustained programme in the community to enhance the club's standing and make it an appealing prospect. Right now, sitting in a stadium with two closed stands (for a lot of games) and watching a team you have no connection to fight relegation isn't the most enticing prospect for prospective fans.

We have an asset now in Lee Clark, whose energy and enthusiasm is infectious and we need to find a way of harnessing that in order to get fans and prospective fans excited about coming along to Rugby Park again. Open training or signing sessions; meet the manager events; appearances at local schools, youth clubs, Junior sides etc all would have been better ways to spend our Saturday off rather than pander to a game that 90% of Kilmarnock supporters couldn't give a flying f**k about? Hell, could we not have had an open training session and worked with Hurlford United so they had a league game afterwards at Rugby Park? I'm sure Hurlford would be glad of the extra publicity and I've said for a while we need to start working closely with them and try to arrange something such as discounted double tickets for entry to Blair Park and Rugby Park if we can get the kick-off times of the 'ford games to be slightly earlier. There just seems to be nobody at Rugby Park that is willing to think outside the box, and everyone instead is willing to just sit idly by and watch our club drift away.

Say we have a group of fans that turned up to the St Johnstone game and thought "that was excellent, I really enjoyed that so I'll come back after the split" and even a handful of them see the Old Firm pandering and get annoyed enough to not bother turning back up this season - we're doing ourselves more damage than good.
