  1. How was it in Manchester? What kind of things did they get up to?

    It was a great show.

They mix between doing stories, showing videos of skits and stuff that truTV wouldn't let them air and comedy sketches. Two hours absolutely felw in.

  2. The Tenderloins are playing the Hydro in Glasgow.

This is a new tour from the one I saw in Manchester so I'm extremely looking forward to it. Tickets go on sale this Friday.

  3. Hamill's token couple of good games a season definitely aren't worth keeping him around for.

Barbour is horrendous. I'll be pretty surprised if he pitches up at another full time club (or at least if he stays at another one for long before being found out). I strongly suspect the part time seaside leagues await.

    Robinson is an empty jersey.

The first part is arguable. He does do a lot of work with the youth teams and helps with coaching too, which could help swing things. However, I'm not really that bothered in all honesty about him leaving.

    Agreed on the rest.

Good to see Clark sweeping some deadwood to free up some funds. I can see numerous other players leaving shortly. Regardless of whether we stay up or go down, we have a lot of players out of contract or ending loans and a lot of players who aren't good enough. Will be a summer of rebuilding either way.

If we were to look at the squad, who would you get rid of in the summer (if it was possible)?

For me - Ashcroft, Westlake, Findlay (end of loan), Obadeyi and Carrick. That would still leave us with a squad of seventeen though...

  4. Irvine was atrocious when he started with us, although it was clearly a symptom of the fact he had never really played senior football before. As the season went on he improved, and by the time Boyd dug us out the mire in our last two games of the season, big Jackson was one of our absolute key players.

Delighted for what he's gone on to achieve at County, and he seems like a player that will go on even further - but let's not kid ourselves on, there were upwards of a dozen games where he was the worst player in a horrendous Kilmarnock team.

He was not "atrocious" when he first came to us. He was the easy target because of his playing style and being part of a team that wasn't playing well. I thought personally he was excellent in that game away to St Mirren (the Boyd red match) but struggled after being constantly shunted around. Once he got a proper run of games in his position, he excelled. Maybe I'm slightly biased as I felt at the time I was the only one defending him, but I really don't remember him every being that bad when played in midfield. Any worse than Scott Robinson or Paul Cairney?

I see in one of the papers today your manager Lee Clark has told Jamie Hamill, Scott Robinson and Ross Barbour they are all free to leave Kilmarnock!

Jamie Hamill I'd be inclined to keep around, as he does have the odd really good game. He must be one of our top earners though, and is pretty injury prone these days so it does make sense. The other two will be no loss whatsoever.

No great loss. Barbour another victim of post Shiels mismanagement. He hasn't been good enough in the last 2-3 seasons. Shame.

Rubbish. Barbour's decline is nothing to do with post-Shiels mismanagement. He admitted himself that he has came back for the last three pre-seasons overweight, and he struggles to drop the pounds. That's not exactly the sign of solid pro, is it? Plenty of rumours that he's a terrible trainer as well, and that's part of the reason why successive managers haven't favoured him.

I agree that it's a shame though, as when he burst into the team he looked like the right-back we'd been looking for since Canero.

  5. Jackson Irvine reminded me of Bambi , all legs going at all angles . The boy could run all day , win balls on the ground and in the air but his final pass was shocking . Like every footballer there ever was there will be their detractors and admirers , from fans that purport to know a lot about football and those that just go for the enjoyment . Both opinions are valid IMO.

He came on loan from cellic so I presume they were paying part of his wages and he may have been looked upon as low risk cheap utility type player , hence the readiness to use him in multiple positions ?

He has undoubtedly improved at Ross County for reasons known to himself but that could be applied to many players who don't " make it " at one club but do so at another.

GGH is a different matter , as many Dee fans will tell you , he excels in the dark blue on a regular basis , at Killie he was an enigma

Irvine was used in a number of positions because Allan Johnston didn't have a fucking clue.

  6. Interested to hear Killie fans thoughts on Balatoni and Higgy. How have they been?

Balatoni has been an improvement on Ashcroft/(early season Connolly) but is far from perfect - hence why he's at Killie.

Higginbotham has flitted in and out of the team, and has struggled. Looked good for a spell as #10 but an injury set him back. Hopefully he finds some level of consistency as we're desperately in need of some creativity.

  7. I think it might be about time to drop Magennis. He offers a lot in terms of link-up, but his goal return isn't good enough, and we're not getting enough goals from the rest of the team to justify carrying him. I'd even think about sticking Carrick up there instead - he's a much better finisher.

I agree that it isn't working at the moment with Josh. When he wins flick-ons and nobody is following up then it's an utterly pointless tactic to use. I would rather go with McKenzie as a striker to be honest, as he's probably the best finisher at the club. Carrick has looked absolutely terrible in every first team outing he's made, and that miss late on against Hamilton (?) was unbelievably bad.

  8. The dudes what said it were under the impression that there was a very small basic plus expenses, (similar to what Boyd was on two seasons ago), and then larger appearance fees.

I'd be surprised if that was the case given he had an opportunity to go to America, but decided to come here. You'd think, looking from the outside, that he must be getting a decent guaranteed salary to stay in Ayrshire and play for us rather than try his luck over the pond.

  9. Really can't see Killie being in the Premiership next season. They've rode their luck in recent seasons but looks like their time will be up imminently

No final league position is ever down to luck.

If we do go down this season, there will be a number of reasons. At the moment, the biggest one will be the board appointing Gary Locke as manager and then taking too long to remove him once it was clear that he wasn't working out. We have the squad available and the time left to stay up - if we don't, then there will have to be an inquest at the end of the season.

  10. Faubert's fitness levels are apparently a massive issue. Clearly got the talent, but with us only got 13 competitive matches left and in no immediate danger, the club doesn't seem to have believed it wasn't worth our while. Kilmarnock are obviously in more danger than us so you'd imagine are more willing to take a gamble on his fitness. He's clearly good enough for this level technically- probably well beyond that - but it's whether you can get him up to speed before the end of the season that's the issue. Think Saints called this one right for our circumstances at the moment.

Did Wright not say he wanted to sign him, but Faubert himself was "off to sunnier climes"?
