  1. Back in the old days, Willie Penman used to cross the ball from wide, then run under it and lash it into the net when it reached the box. Maybe big John can do similar with his throws.
  2. I know what he was saying. I simply disagreed. At 2-0 we were playing very well indeed, and Ayr had their work cut out just to stay in touch. Being the Rovers though, nothing is certain, and sure enough, 2 wasn't enough. Over the piece, a good, close game, but I think we were worthy winners.
  3. Don't get all revisionist and pedantic on me. You certainly look beaten to me.
  4. Never looked beaten? Except when you were beaten? Righto.
  5. For me, it was always a "just don't get relegated" season. New management, players leaving, players arriving, new team, new formation, new tactics, new captain and still foggy under the McGlynn hangover. I didn't expect anything else. I hoped for more, but we are where I thought we'd be. I suspect we'll finish where I thought we'd finish; 5th to 8th.
  6. Stop trying to bring this back to football. The loonies aren't finished yet.
  7. Irrelevant. If she pops her clogs, or indeed has already, then the country grinds to a halt.
  8. Not quite, but I have a feeling English won't be his first language. A bit like Sinky. Oh, and somehow we look worse in the highlights than we did in the flesh.
  9. Some proper heads gone stuff at full time today. Couple of boys in particular fit to burst. Anyone on here?
  10. Murray's post match interview sounds like he just realised today that we need another striker. Not only that, his timescale has slipped out again to "possibly this week". I'm beginning to get irritated.
  11. I hate to criticise a youngster, but I'm going to. Connell is as good as a man short. Woeful. I'll concede he didn't get much service but I'd happily drive him back to Ayrshire tomorrow. Millen's challenge was deplorable. After one of his crosses I said to my son, "that's the weakest part of his game." I was wrong. He too is as good as a man short. We're down to 9. The Gullan critics will now see that we are worse without him, but McBride did OK when he came on. At least he doesn't take us down to 8. Connolly was heavily marked, as was Easton, but we have no physical game to shove them back. Easton aside we had zero creativity and zero dig. I hope Spencer is fit to play 90 very soon, but I agree with some others - I too was giving it 1st quarter but feel Murray needs to up his game a bit, pronto. ICT were a pale imitation of themselves today but I felt best we were gonna get was a 0-0. Imagine my disappointment....etc
  12. Quick, someone look out the Kevin Nisbet reviews when he signed for us. Happy to trust IM but I'll admit I've never heard of the guy. Hoping we recognise the striker when he strives.
  13. Have heard from a usually well informed source that we may see signings (plural) today. No detail, which makes me question it, but if so, they'll surely be cross border deals?
