  1. I'm with Hank. Not seen Millen do much wrong. Too many unfair comparisons to Tumilty. And to make matters worse, Liam Dick is nowhere near as bad as many make out. He had a(nother) good game and took his goal well. Pleasantly surprised by O'Riordan's composure. He will be good, and, along with Nolan, who didn't really put a foot wrong, we now have something we've not had at centre half for a while - mobility.
  2. Best bit was when he outran himself minutes from time and the South stand rose to its feet, cheering as if we'd smashed in another. He's a cheating, half a trick pony.
  3. During the game they announced that the official club shop was open in the South stand, yet it's a wasteland. Always has been. Like something oot of Mad Max.
  4. Well, that and Quitongo cheating every time the ball is within 20 yds. Also, hammerthrowers.
  5. That's an initiative I'd contribute to. As I said, we need to be on our toes.
  6. I'll do you a deal. Stop talking shite and I'll stop pointing it out.
  7. That is not kicking the can. Kicking the can means choosing to defer a decision on something difficult. My point is that fans have next to no power or influence when it comes the board change we would like to see. That much is proven at our club this year alone. To a certain, regrettable extent, we have to suck it up whilst Sim is in charge. We've seen good season ticket sales and strips purchased, so fans are clearly not of a mind to withhold money from the club. We can't buy him out unless he wants to sell, and fan-related appointments to the board can only exert as much influence as the owner and chief exec allow them to. Noisy protests and cardboard placards make a scene but wouldn't make Sim easier to deal with. More likely, as threatened, he walks away and closes us down. So we're not kicking the can anywhere. We're not deferring anything because it's not ours to defer. We need to stay on our toes though. Who knows what circus will ensue once he decides he's had enough.
  8. So in what way are fans "kicking the can down the road", as you said in relation to the crisis which may unfold when Sim departs?
  9. What do you expect fans to do to change the ownership situation? Be precise.
  10. Agreed. Said they discussed the 3 strikers IM was after then, when challenged, can't definitively name them. Sounds legit.
  11. Some pretty big accusations there Scotty, without elaboration. As for hospitality and adverts, you are aware of the current economic crisis aren't you? People are making decisions on how they spend their money. Spending it at the Rovers is probably not high up the list of priorities.
  12. You had us relegated last season too. You should find a hobby, something which actually gives you enjoyment. Have you tried golf or whittling spoons? I'm not sure football is for you.
  13. I've been following the Rovers for a deal longer than many on here and I've honestly never read or heard such overreaction as I have this season, and we're 1 league tie in. That's less than 3% of the campaign. Here's a bold but experienced take, which will likely keep some kettles boiling - yesterday doesn't matter. Very important players set to return in a few weeks, manager has said he still needs additional players, the combination of which will allow certain players to return to their natural positions or be dropped, and 35 games to go. Our season isn't defined or even shaped by defeat on day one. Should we show no improvement with those player and likely accompanying tactical adjustments by the end of 1st quarter, then I'll be concerned. But on the 1st Sunday? Nope.
  14. Don't know about Musonda - seemed he would liked to have stayed, but Pars offered Bene 2 years instead of our 1, and more money than he was on. Bene said so himself.
  15. Where has Sim said no more money for players? Where has any board member talked of reduced budget? Reduced from what? The pile that JMcG spunked on duds? Lastly, anyone who thinks Ambrose is the answer to anything, whether it be on trial at training or, Joseph Mary and the Wee Donkey forbid, in any form of contract, needs to take a long walk and clear their heid. Or stop watching football.
  16. I didn't claim attendance patterns wouldn't change if streaming was allowed. I said if everyone had my attitude, they would. And then I said they don't. All have my attitude, that is. Please pay attention.
