Is Danzaki injured? Not in the squad today. I’m not sure why and have nothing to base it on, but I’m quite keen to see him get a shot. Not sure who he’d replace though. I know he may well have been a Hammell signing but after giving him a 2-year deal you’d hope he has at least something to offer.

Apparently we’ve signed Harry Paton until the end of the season. I remember the name but nowt about him. What’s he like?

What are we due when he disappears? Buttons?

It'll be interesting to see if there is much of a change in approach if/when we are safe, if Ketts is minded to get more of a look at the wider squad by tweaking things a bit. Given how he came to the job I wonder if he's had much scope to do that over and above our number one mission of staying up. The likes of Danzaki and Tierney, and even McKinstry will perhaps get a bit more exposure, the problem is that they all pretty much play the same position. As ever, shaping up to be an interesting summer...

Shaping up to be an interesting few weeks. Between us, Dundee Utd and St Johnstone, if results go for us we could overtake the latter and pretty much be safe(ish). In fact, there’s an outcome where we also overtake Aberdeen as well… Top 6 is a gimme.

Yeah, as well as Kettlewell has come across over the past week, is it too much of a risk after Hammell? I suppose all appointments are to some degree. Now, Kettlewell until the end of the season with a further decision made then is perhaps the obvious option just now…

A redemption arc so large it’s a full circle.

The thing is, for most clubs at our level January is an absolute lottery. Blaney alone seems to have been a longer term target (potentially Danzaki too) but with most of them it’s a matter of them becoming available at the right time - and that’s as much a result of things happening elsewhere as it will be us making a convincing pitch to a player. We went into the window needing: - a combative midfielder (Butcher) - new blood in the centre of defence (Blaney/Casey) - help for (or at least an alternative to) KVV - Aitchison/Mandron/Obika The only gap we really haven’t filled is left back. Now, of course the folk we’ve brought could be utterly humpty (they’ve certainly not set things ablaze so far), and we’ve been unfortunate in the injuries to Blaney and Mandron, but surely to f**k someone can get a tune out of this lot…
