  1. Take the tractor, we can collect the new guys on the return journey.
  2. Surely, SURELY the Arbroath game gives us a bit of a free go in trying something different? Hopefully we’ll have another couple of bodies in, f**k me this team needs a bit of livening up
  3. I’m not so sure. Odds on for a Mandron hat trick a la Ferrere, then never to be seen again.
  4. Is Mandron likely to be registered in time? Regardless, I’d go: Kelly Johnston Sol Lamie McGinn Penney Crankshaw Cornelius McKinstry (or Tierney) KVV Mandron (or McKinstry) McGinn and Penney as wing backs, but McGinn could tuck into the midfield if needed with Johnston pushing out. f**k it, throw the newbies in, what’s the worst that could happen?
  5. Fear not. I remain hopeful a big hard b*****d midfielder will appear at 1pm tomorrow.
  6. Robinson definitely seemed to focus on the more innate attributes - pace, leadership, general hard b*****d-ness than we’ve seen with Alexander/Hammell, on the basis that you can coach the more technical aspects in specific players. I wonder if the fact we’re going more down the Wyscout route with a formal head of recruitment makes it more difficult - ultimately I doubt there’s anything to stop Hammell saying ‘we need a player with X’ but it seems we’re overlooking the basics in favour of the data
  7. And you get to be team mates with Christian Ilic as well. What more can you ask for?
  8. That seems to be a recurring theme with Hammell in that the emphasis seems very much to be skewed towards performance rather than results. As much as I like Hammell the environment that he’s been in historically has been one where the results, to an extent, are secondary. I can’t imagine him or Kerr tearing strips off folk. Sadly the situation we’re in requires a b*****d or four to sort us out, in the dressing room and on the pitch.
  9. It’s a bit of a poisoned chalice really. Previous injury issues aside I don’t think many of us would have grumbled with Aarons or Moult returning. Whether we would have been in a drastically different situation is a valid question but had both of them stayed fit it would have at least addressed some of the deficiencies we’ve seen ie having to rely on Connor Shields… The problem with a club at our level is that every signing is going to be a gamble to some extent. Having a HoR might help to implement a particular strategy but the required output of that can change drastically over a season for various reasons, so what we are looking for now is likely different to what we would have been after if the summer signings worked out. There are obviously gaps we need filled now, but I wonder if we ever *can* take a particularly long term view?
  10. I think Casper Sloth was perhaps one? Regardless, if he was the first it would be Morris’ most notable contribution to the Well cause.
  11. Never mind Snodgrass - I see that the bold Sofiane Feghouli is available gratis at the moment…
  12. Thought that as well. Silkier than a bag of silk. Re. Goss I mean. Glad we are able to get a tune out of him.
  13. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a draw as much as that in a long time - certainly never a 0-0! I thought we were excellent, I saw a few folk make reference to McGhee’s first spell which isn’t far off. Some of the interplay between KVV, Tierney and Efford was lovely. I thought the bold Joe looked grand actually - put in a fair shift and there was a marked drop off when Aarons came on, but then the second half generally wasn’t up to the same standard as the first. I get the feeling that once we click - especially upfront - we’ll deal out a few skelpings this year. Hopefully we can get Moult up to speed quickly. Also - How shite is Tony Watt? Lovely to see.
  14. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite so wholesome on here in a long time.
  15. Just wait until McGinley rises salmon-like to bullet home the header that secures top six status this year. No bother.
  16. 10:59 on Thursday night, glued to Twitter all day and camping out in my car outside Fir Park, only to be witness to the return of Jermaine Hylton and Mikael Ndjoli.
  17. The more I think about it I can totally see why it would be an ‘option’ we are exploring. KVV is always going to be the main striker and Moult (even accepting of the fact that he is made of paper these days) offers us something different ie he isn’t Joe Efford or Connor Shields, which gives us a bit more flexibility in how we set up. If it does come to pass I can’t really see the club shelling loads of cash at him anyway, so it’s a yes from me Clive.
