    This.
Go up and play for a 0-0, a bit of hoofball required, line up as follows:
                                         Martin
    Williamson McKay Dixon Lemon McCann
         Ross Telfer Hetherington Nesbitt

                                   Morrison
Use Morrison's pace and trickery to see if he can make something happen upfront on his own, he's a better option than any of our 3 "strikers" (I use the term loosely).

Any time one of our players gets on the ball, just hoof it straight out the ground.

That's it play like Airdrie did in the last 20 minutes of the game they beat us 2-1 at their ground last season. The only positive to take from it is no matter who has Covid we'll not be missing anything decent upfront. If it's either of Ryan Williamson/Dixon/Telfer/Morrison then we're humped.

Just wondering how many available players you have outwith those isolating until Friday or Saturday? If there is any circumstance where the club’s (lack of) available players might require one or more of those isolating players to play the match, it should be absolutely postponed and the PA should be screaming to high heaven about the risk to the player(s). It would be  utterly insane to expect a player who has been limited in fitness activities for the preceding 10 days to risk his season or career to keep some opening day match from being postponed. It’s not so much the lack of practice as the lack of a proper workout followed by a balls to the wall effort.

Personally, lock the SPFL Board into small boxes for a week, and then have them compete on an obstacle course, with wolves chasing them, while wearing meat suits…and toss the OF Directors in there too.

We have a squad of 20. 5 players with actual covid and 9 players seen as close contacts so they are in isolation until Tomorrow. So that gives us 6 players who've been able to train this week and 9 players who'll have to play having just came out of isolation the day before. That's obviously assuming there's no injuries or any further covid positives(I don't know which days they test)

Last time I checked, the SPFL aren't actually forcing you to play any of your first team players who were in isolation. If you care about their welfare so much then just field a bunch of kids instead. We played a bunch of 16 year old regens in the League Cup - the manager had a similar guilt-tripping whine about it - but that's just tough.

It has got nothing to do with a legitimate concern for player wellbeing but rather 100% concern for Falkirk not being at a competitive disadvantage, which is not the SPFL's problem.

Yous not got 11 players we can borrow. We'll most likely be taking them next summer so just think of it as a trial?

Does anyone know if we’re back in training? I know all of Falkirk FC was WFH until Monday at least

Hilarious how underprepared we are for this season. I suppose we’ve tried every other method in trying to have a successful campaign - let’s try the no match fitness no strikers route this year!

What were the club supposed to do about having to cancel the last two games due to a covid outbreak? The recruitment front is filled with holes yet again I'll give you that one as we still need 2/3 starters in our team but you can't have a dig at the club for having to forfeit games due to Covid.

If the Cove game is on we'll have a bare bones squad which is giving me the absolute fear especially as we've not signed any new players this week.

Dundee fans who watched him have been complimentary about him. He was in good form at Dundee when he took the deal in A-League.

Certainly plays deeper these days, but we need somebody sitting deep more than attacking players anyway, Our attacking options are the best outside the Premier League.

You've clearly not seen Anton Dowds, Aidan Keena or Jaime Wilson play football mate.

Asked before and got generally poor reports that addressed out of depth and such. Now asking where it seemed he might be suited, sorry to bother. Canada, eh?

Coming off the bench when the opposition has tired is where you'll see the best of him. He's positive on the ball and generally will have a go at his man but he never really had any end product with us.

  7. If one of our Covid 4 is Telfer and we have to play on Saturday then we're scunnert. A midfield pairing of Miller & Hetherington we'd be aswell giving them the 3-0 win. Why have we not recruited more than one player in the centre of midfield. It was glaringly obvious last season we got dominated in there and our only cover just now is Gary Miller.

Without information from the club how can fans be expected to buy tickets for a game and make arrangements to travel. If the games postponed then many may not be able to make the rearranged date. All we’re looking for is an update. Only the club has the information regarding the isolation dates. It’s not asking much. The clubs communication with the fans is not good enough.

They are probably in dialogue with the SPFL just now to work out what's happening themselves. I'm sure as soon as they get the full picture they'll let us know. It is the SPFL we're talking about so we'll get the decision on Friday once Dundee's votes came out the junk folder.

Andy nelson getting stick from Torquay fans and was pretty quick to like a tweet asking for him to return 😂😂😂

Didn’t realise that he preferred to go out clubbing rather than focusing on the football.

Ik he’s missed a lot of games due to injury over the past years, but was decent when he actually “played” for us, so not sure if he’s the one.

Obviously nothing behind liking a Twitter post and I really doubt he would, but what r folks thoughts on our strikibg dept atm?

Our striking department at the moment wouldn't even get a game for @latapythelegend's Sunday team. We need someone who plays like Andy Nelson just not Andy Nelson. He comes with too much baggage off the park and injury wise, little white bags according to Dundee fans.

This late on we're most likely going to have to rely on a loan which is hard to take especially when as some have said on here you've got a director of football and the best he's came up with on that front was Jaime Wilson and John Robertson. We need a miracle out the blue signing. Has Farid not got any young Moroccan mates?

  10. Rumour is we've got 4 positive covid tests so our starting line up will depend heavily on who those 4 are. Covid aside we're all praying on a half decent striker coming in before the league starts. Dowds will hold the ball in well and knock it off but he doesn't look like a natural goalscorer. Keena from the small bits we've seen of him is the polar opposite, he looks to be a natural goalscorer but one of those players who's just tuck away the final ball. We need a striker who'll run the channels, make a nuisance of themselves and create chances for themselves as well as scoring the chances others create(not much to ask for I know) Cove have Megginson who'll do exactly that in abundance for them and fyvie who'll dictate the play in the middle of the park.

We may have to go all week without training and given the positive tests were seemingly on Wednesday we will most likely be without a fair few if the game goes ahead. If everyone was fully fit I expect we'd be lining up with the below.

    Mutch
    Williamson Mckay Dixon Mccann
    Telfer Hetherington
    Ross
    Morrison Dowds Nesbitt

Noticed that Ruth wasn’t involved in the Aberdeen squad the other evening, surely inevitable he comes on loan once the covid situation is settled.

Ruth, Wilson, Dowds and Keena ( staying fit) give me the fear.

Definitely need another one in there to provide something different. Ruth might come good but we can't solely rely on that not when we've got a league to win.

Airdrie just went in dry on a Premiership team so they seem to be breaking into at least a jog already.

We're still lying on the sofa munching last night's chips.

To be fair the Motherwell team they went in dry on look shocking after a bad campaign last season and the loss of Gallagher & Campbell won't have helped. Queens Park also dominated the game against them. Cove scudded Inverness but look shakey at the back, Inverness missed quite a few chances.

Queens Park look the best of the lot for me with Brown pulling the strings in the middle of the park whilst Gallagher does the dirty work for them. Murray running about like a blue arsed fly up top pulling defenders all over the shop(exactly what we're missing) Longridge and Biggar providing a bit of attacking threat from the wings. They've also got wing backs capable of getting up and down the park in Robson/Yeats and Doyle on the other side. Petet Grant at centre back who's relatively solid when fit. They still have their weaknesses and don't seem to have much depth like us so hopefully we're the ones that go out and recruit a bit more quality.

How many guys do you have out with covid?

When we had our outbreak we forfeited the St Mirren game as it happened the day before, but we were told in no uncertain circumstances that we had to play the Stenny game 3 days later which led to us signing two lads on amateur deals just to get enough players. I'm assuming that Falkirk's outbreak has more players out than we did but I still find it a bit shite that we were forced to sign players to play a game but others are being allowed to forfeit.

They've not said, they just keep saying 'a number' but not clarifying exactly how many. If anything and as horrible as it is we should be hoping it's a fair few instead of us going up against Cove with a depleted squad the game would just get rearranged. Would give us another week to get the finger out and bring in a few signings as well.
