Ompreon looks more like a development team level player than a first team one to me. Could be another Francis or could turn out great but he looks a good bit away from that the now.
He's got a slightly better pedigree than Francis so we can only hope that's not the case but I hate when players are described as 'raw' as it normally means they're so far away from being ready for first team football. Good for Keena coming on and getting his goal.

Well that was a pleasing game, brilliant getting a look at all the players who we haven't really had a chance to see yet. Paddy Martin was excellent and on that showing as soon as Mutch drops a clanger he'll be in for good. Lemon & Weekes were also very good tonight I'd actually be tempted to stick Lemon out on loan as he won't start ahead of Dixon and he'd benefit from playing more first team football. Krasniqi was classy on the ball but looks very soft for the middle of the park. We definitely still need a number 9 as Ompreon showed tonight he's not anywhere near as finished as we need him to be. He looks so erratic on the ball, you can tell he has some good qualities but his lack of understanding of the game really shows. Constantly offside and struggled to hold the ball in. Feel sorry for Dowds as he's clearly better than Wilson but he'll not be played due to the fact Sheerin signed Wilson. Williamson was also good considering he was playing on his unatural side all game.

Mark Millars got cult hero status for me. IIRC came in with a shite haircut from Celtic, two footed some Dunfermline player on his debut. Was absolute ass the full season. Came back next year with a baldy and ran through brick walls with a team of youngsters. Brilliant player who's career seemed to only go down once he left us.
Also scored the winner in our last game against Rangers FC R.I.P x
When he got his move to Dundee United he must have thought he'd made it and downed tools. Turned up about 2 stone overweight to his first pre season with them and Houstie was raging. Can't fault his effort or attitude with us as he was brilliant here in both spells but just seems to have wasted the talent he had like many others. I'd even make a case from him to get in my all time bairns team and if not he'd definitely be one of my first subs. Dictated games with us, could play with either foot and got right stuck in. Was also prone to a peach of a goal from outside the box.

Also Queens Park with a strong side out against Bonnyrigg Rose and are getting beat 1-0.

Pretty sure Sheerin and co like Wilson more than Dowds.
Unfortunately that seems to be the case given he was signed when it looked like we'd have Dowds as the only option upfront. A panic signing. Be interesting to see though who starts against East Kilbride as that'll most likely give us more of an idea who he fancies and who he doesn't.

Have you seen the lad or is this a joke flying over my head?
I reckon he's being sarcastic which is ironic given the amount of excitement in his post when Airdrie signed Kouder Aissa.
5 games, 1 missed penalty, 0 goals and an injury.

Leon McCann to score a hattrick and airdrie to win 4-3
Given he doesn't look to have ever scored a professional goal that is bold. Kouder Aissa out injured again?

Mutch
Miller Hall Dixon McCann
Telfer Hetherington
Morrison Nesbitt McGuffieKeena
Subs: Martin, C Williamson, Krasniqi, Ross, Weekes, Dowds, Ompreon
2-1 Falkirk (Morrison and Keena), Airdrie inevitably scoring form a set piece or long throwI'd go for that too, interesting looking at the starting 11 and subs, I can't see Wilson or potentially Dowds even making the bench for most of our games when most are fit, especially if we get another loan or two in. Makes the Wilson signing even more baffling.
Would be as well as just ripping up his contract now and allowing him to go get games in the lowland league. I'd imagine we're still trying to bring in another striker given nobody's taken the number 9 jersey yet.

3-1 Falkirk, goals from Keena, Morrison, Ompreon off the bench and Dylan Easton to score a screamer.

Kras-ni-key going by the Huddersfield commentator. Just watched a bit of a game he played in for their development team looks to love a long diagonal with either foot.

We've signed Ernaldo Krasniqi on loan from Huddersfield until January. His signing gives us a squad of 20 so I don't imagine there will be many more possibly just another 2.

Brilliant to have cover for centre back and centre midfield in the one player so hopefully he's a decent. Another striker and possibly a right back on loan? 20 of a squad currently which would take us to the 22 players that they discussed in the Q&A albeit more permanent signings than initially planned.
Much more comfortable that Sheerin's at least getting the players in to take a look at them in training first before agreeing to loan them.

Surely now restrictions are lifted we can just go back to PATG?
Probably still need to keep details of attendees for track and trace purposes no doubt.

I actually think Lee Miller's out injured so he may not get the glory he seeks on Wednesday. Wasn't in their squad at the weekend.

Will be interesting to see if a Sheerin team can beat a full time outfit next week against Airdrie. It's been a long time coming and it would certainly show signs of us turning a corner. Couldn't care less about the East Kilbride game just a nice opportunity to see some of the youngsters.

Good performance yesterday and I was delighted with some of the football we played. It definitely feels like we're a couple of games behind where we want to be with getting the players match sharp and used to the new system, we were quite sloppy on the ball in the last 20 minutes or so. Reckon with Williamson and McKay in for Miller and Hall plus a few more games to bed in then we'll be looking pretty good.
If we're playing 1 up front then we need to bring in some decent backup for the 3 behind the striker, if Morrison is injured I don't know who plays there and he'll need a rest at some point. If Morrison got injured Nesbitt or Weekes would take his place. Whereas if Telfer or Hetherington get injured we're stuck with Gary Miller as the only cover in the middle of the park. Interested to see how Lemon looks on Wednesday hopefully there's potential there.

Another great interview with Sheerin. Not happy with losing that goal and made it very clear by the sound of it. Good to hear that he knows Sammy E is very raw but can see his qualities and when we can use them. A lot better than the bland interviews of the last few seasons
See I didn't like that as it's near enough word for word how M&M described Akeel Francis when he signed. Very raw, pacey and room to develop. Obviously hoping for a lot more than another Akeel Francis but as some have said hopefully there's still a number 9 to come in.
Keena was ok today but still needs a few games to get up to speed and gain that match sharpness back.

How did stevie hetherington play ? Maybe now he's captain his booking count might go down, he was always a favourite at alloa though, wholehearted player
He was exceptional today, kept the ball ticking over as well as picking up every second ball and mopping everything up.

The team I would line up for the EK game.
Martin
miller
hall
Dixon
McCann
hethrington
Ross
nesbitt
Dowds
sammy
weekes.
if McKay and Williamson out for a lengthy time that back four could do with some consistency to try and get the best out of it. A case for keena to start in order for him to try and improve fitness levels but would like to see the other strikers given a run out.
Be interesting to see which players go out their way to nail Lee Miller as I'd imagine there's a fair few of them don't like him. Perfect game to give a few of the youngsters a shot at it as well as try something new. I'd go with the following
Martin
Miller Hall Lemon Mccann
Weekes Telfer Hetherington Williamson
Sammy Keena0 -
Thought Mutch got away with quite a few individual errors at cross balls today and on another day that could have cost us. Nothing he could have done with their goal though.

With Ompreon signing we've got a squad of 21 right now including the 3 youngsters from the development squad. Could be doing with that extra centre back especially if Mckay's out for a while and extra centre midfielder for cover. Also if we could bring in another striker and shift Dowds out on loan that would probably be best for all parties as Sheerin must not fancy him.

On FTV before the game Sheerin talked about them working on positioning in the box for when our crosses came in but I felt today our strikers could really do with attacking the front post and getting across the defender as numerous times today the first defender just cleared our crosses.

Yeah well you look at Weekes, Lemon, Williamson and Krasniqi who are all younger than him but were all much more composed on the ball tonight.
