Former striker, got to be Hippolyte only one over the past few seasons that we would welcome back.
Nobody said anything about it being a former striker, I just took a wild guess with Andy Nelson.

Unlikely, seeing as he signed for Torquay United last week.
Yeah just seen that just now on his twitter.

the striker is a potential signing, not as concrete as the Keena info was
Does his name rhyme with Fandy Melson?

So today's signing rumours are Aidan Keena, Danny Devine and a former Bairns midfielder?
Also BainsfordBairn clearly isn't a morning person as he's kept us waiting all day and finally sick boy might actually be ITK...

Anybody else continually refreshing the twitter page today waiting on confirmation or am I the only sad act?

To replace one bombscare defender with another is not good practice, at least we addressed the right back problem this year though.
Yeah if the devine thing is true looks like Mcrackens looking for two centre backs who are very much just there to defend and defend only. Kind of like how mcracken was as a defender. As long as you've got players infront of them who will play football I don't really mind that. An oldschool defensive centre back pairing, Darren Dods and Lee Wilkie esque.

TOE wasn't actually that bad a football player. I think had he stayed he'd have turned out ok hence why he's got lovely wee highlights reel for hereford.

Why is everyone wetting their pants over Aidan Keena?
A semi decent 14 games in League 1 two years ago with QP and that seems to be it. According to Wiki he also had unsuccessful trials with Darlington and Berwick Rangers before Hartlepool took a chance on him. Even then he only managed 8 games? What am I missing?

If alston does come home then he's got to play in the middle of the park with miller. Otherwise my dreams of a quick nippy right winger will be in tatters.

You'd like to think it's a two year deal to give him a bit of stability. Hopefully continues his form from the last time he was in this league with queens park.

Dixon will be our left back starter and if Sneddens up to much i'd imagine he'll get phased into the team. If the Keena talk is true i'll be more than happy and with 8 goals in 12 games at this level he'll have the 'proven goalscorer' lot reaching for their kleenex.

4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1 or my toys will be out my pram. We can't go another season of not breaking teams down because we have 3 spare players playing eye spy on the half way line.

All being said a right back's not going to win you games so if he does a job defensively then i'm happy enough. I'm more interested in who we're going to see lining up in front of him.

That's what worries me

Feels like the exact same signing as last season when we signed Doyle hopefully is a better crosser of the ball.

Probably been covered but does anyone know how long dowds is signed up for?
Nah it wasn't covered off on the website but I'd imagine/hope it's a two year deal.

I think as well a lot of people will be holding off just now as we don't actually know for certain yet when fans will be allowed back into stadiums. Going to have to get BTW streaming Falkirk TV upstairs. Some teams won't be able to sign players down to the fact they can't then furlough the player till October so just now i'd imagine there won't be as much competition for signings. But as bainsfordbairn said with the premiership starting early we could see more players become available nearer our season starting as they realise they aren't going to play as much as they'd like to ala Mcmanus.

From who we have signed there are bankers as starters for most games.
Mutch - Durnan - Dixon - G Miller - Connolly - Dowd - Sammon that is the core of the team like it or not. We need pace, drive and flair in our signings.
Interesting times await.
If Sammons a banker for starting most games we won't be near winning the league. Fortunately the fact Lee Miller played in a lot of our games last season tells me m&m already know Sammon's not the answer. The rest however i'll agree with.

M&M sticking with most of the same squad from last season for the sake of continuity has put a lot more pressure on their recruitment this summer as they need to get 5/6 quality signings in to give us a right good chance. But I agree regardless of who we bring in this season we're going to have to have another big overhaul next year if we get promoted but we'd have the advantage of being in a much better position than we are just now.

I didnt really see Deans doing much different to anyone else to be honest. Don't see how it could leave our reputation in the grubber especially when you see how some of the others have carried on.
Yeah I also wouldn't really be worried, I thought he came across quite well especially compared to some of the statements in the past from his predecessors. Maybe shouldn't have said he wants us to pump everyteam on the pitch as we're all thinking it but it's probably better keeping that to yourself so it doesn't come back and bite you. He couldn't really win to be honest as if he said nothing we'd have had fans crying about the lack of effort and when he does actually give all his statements he gets hit with 'oh you've said too much now'

So if we loaned 4 players off one of the OF, romped the league and played football worth the £19 a game to watch you'd be in a huff because that's not right? Come off it, i'll take us out this league in anyway possible. The rules are how they are and no other club will think twice about flouting them so why should we?
