  1. How much is not a lot of room?

With promotion all-but over the line, McGlynn revealed that the current squad won’t look too different come the start of the next campaign, with continuity key.

“I don’t think we’ll have a lot of room for bringing in new faces, I don’t think the budget will stretch that far,” he admitted. “But we will have a lot of continuity. It is what it is. “We have an amazing dressing room, the guys all get on like a house on fire.

I’m happy with Oliver signing. He’s scored a fair few goals for us, link-up play is good, and he’s clearly liked in the dressing room. Stats don’t measure stuff like squad harmony.

If there are still two contracts on the table, I guess excluding the loan players, then that’s what, an intent to retain 14 of the championship winning side? Have to say, I like the way McGlynn is going about his business. He’ll have the last month of the season then entire close season to make the final 6 or 7 signings, unlike many of our opponents.

Get Hogarth, Yeats, Ross, Tait and Shanley resigned then sprinkle in some quality starters in the summer. Allan will be out the door.

I like Yeats and he's young, but I'd argue he's been our weakest (outfield) consistent starter this season. I think his role should be a midfielder to come off the bench next season.

He could definitely improve defensively but over the course of this season I can't remember many times the opposing winger got the best of him over the course of the whole game and given he's only 19(20 next month) I'm not surprised he's got things still to work on.

I don't mind him in the middle of the park but he's very limited in there for me, I much prefer him at right back.

Right back more important than the 10 for me. Surely not putting all the eggs in the colts boy's basket?

I'm assuming Yeats will eventually sign a new deal and if he does I reckon it will be between him and Adams as to who makes that starting spot their own.

Surprised Oliver getting a new deal. Might be falling into the trap that we did last Summer of being too loyal to some who won't make an impact required for a team looking to make at least a play off push.

He's being signed as a squad player who can play in 3(4 at a push) positions in McGlynn's 4-2-3-1 but absolutely we need to improve on the starting 11 this summer.

GK, 10 and ST being the priority.

Do you think you'll make the playoffs?

I think after his recruitment this season, he deserves to sign who he thinks will do a job tbh as he hasn’t wasted a single £ this season in terms of who he’s kept on last year or signed in both windows. In John we trust & get the naked calendars bought 😂

    @gav-ffc knew all along.

Looks like Oliver has been signed up for next season.

Wasn’t desperate to see him moved on but I do think the money could maybe have been used for another option in that position given he hasn’t been good enough to start in league 1, so I’m not convinced he’ll pull up trees a league up.

I can see the versatility point of view but I was hoping McGlynn would have been more ruthless than that.

  8. We've all mentioned the positions we feel need strengthened in the summer but what kind of attributes would you like to see us improve on.

Just like how last summer Swinney was on Falkirk daft talking about how we needed more power, aggression and pace.

For me it's creativity, composure & experience.

So what’s the general opinion?  Will we do it this weekend, or against Montrose?  Or later?

I think it'll be this weekend, Cove need to pick up points as otherwise Montrose/Alloa will pip them to the playoff spots.

Cove won the last home game against them 1-0 in November and although Hamilton won the other two matches there wasn't much in the games.

  10. It's mentioned on Falkirk daft how much McGlynn lives and breathes football and how much his fine lady must detest him for it.

I made the trip through to Alloa on Sunday to watch the U18's and around 5 minutes before the game started in strolls super John McGlynn in his finest Sunday clobber(bunnet and all) with his fine lady following behind him.

Just hope he treated her to something from the lidl bakery after the game.

The hardest thing this pre season is thinking which positions need improved and thus which players in what is a record breaking team close to all our hearts get replaced.

Makes a difference from us fighting over which of the numerous diddies we want punted first.

  12. Bit left field here but what's the script with Steven Warnock, I remember him being hyped up in the press a few years ago with a possible move down south and he had a decent loan spell at Edinburgh last year but appears to have done nothing this season?

Thought he'd have been out on loan again this season proving himself like Bobby Wales.

Anyone any ideas who the three players are that have been offered contracts according to McGlynn, I'd imagine Yeats will be one, Ross? Oliver? On a side note Allan is doing his chances of getting a move no harm at Clyde another two goals yesterday 7 in 9 games.

    Where was this mentioned?

Hopefully Hogarth, Yeats and Ross. Tait's under contract for another year at Hibs but hopefully we can bring him back in the summer too.

At the time, I didn't think the McIvor miss was that glaring.

In fact I couldn't even recall the incident at first when people were mentioning it on here.  I just thought it was too high for him and he couldn't quite get above it.  Are people suggesting it was a comfortable header and he just popped it up and over?

Looked to me like he jumped far too early for it and so got caught underneath it when the ball actually came to him.

He's one of the best in the air we've ever had but he has those sitters in him.

Hopefully, the boy gives 110% every game, deserves to be a starter. However, sometimes money talks for players.

Just hasn't worked out for him here, with him performing so well with you lot it may be he has a fair few clubs after him in the summer.

As Bairnardo mentioned I'd imagine we'll want to move him on in the summer so it'll be up to whether he wants to leave or keep collecting a full time wage.

  16. I joked that Hartley would send Lawal straight back to Falkirk for the tunnel antics after our game the other day but as he's not been in the last two squads I'm starting to think he actually has.

    Who's got the inside scoop?
