Connelly's quality is there. Sadly it's completely stifled by a clueless manager. Be surprised if he doesn't get a Championship gig next season.
Flatters to deceive all too often for me, Agyeman has better numbers than that for us and he's hardly been seen the last 3/4 months.
Not to mention he's our 4th choice winger at the moment.

There was contact, it wasn't enough to take him down but if he doesn't go down it's not given as a penalty. Wouldn't say it was a dive why should he stay on his feet there?

Was almost a carbon copy of the last game at Palmerston. Dominated the first half but didn't take our chances, MacIver misses a sitter of a header.
Thankfully their goal kicked us into action, can get Ross signed up for next season now please John.

Oliver from the start, let's see how much he deserves a new deal.

In a cup no-one cares about where the opposition may not have played their strongest squad or may not have been 100% committed.
All this talk of what we might do next year scares me. I'm sure we'll aim to be competing at the top but I'm worried that expectations might be so high that a bad start sees the atmosphere turn quickly.
As a gauge here's how the last 5 league winners have done the following season in the championship.
Ayr 2017/18 - finished 4th
Arbroath 2018/19 - finished 5th
Partick 2020/21 - finished 4th
Cove 2021/22 - finished 10th
Scum 2022/23 - currently 6th

IMO the midfield is better now with Tait in it. Defensively he isn’t as good as Henderson but technically he is streets ahead.
Better technically but less combative, should be fine against QOS as if they sit in again Tait has the ability to pick a pass through them.

Let's get promoted first. Talk of rotating players so they get a championship medal is arrogant and complacent and just the motivation tool the opposition will use. Case of 'You think so do you'
Even the council can't stop us now.

My ideal would be,
St Johnstone and Livi getting relegated with Dundee United and Raith getting promoted.
Arbroath and Queens Park getting relegated with us and Alloa getting promoted.

I judge Ross for not getting more goals and assists as he's such a classy footballer, very much in the same way I wanted more out of Kucheriavyi last season.
I'd be offering him a deal for next season as in the championship there'll be much more space for our attacking players to go express themselves and that can only benefit Ross with the skill and pace he possesses. FTV commentator sums it up brilliantly he just glides by players with ease without ever really looking like he's out of 2nd gear. Next season you won't get teams coming to the Falkirk stadium and not even bothering to try leave their own half(QOS) leaving very little room for our creative players to work their magic.
To the Raith fan who had a pop at McGlynn's multi year deals, whilst you were signing one of the most sought after young prospects in Scotland off of an Aberdeen team that wanted him to stay, we were signing Brad Mckay on a three year deal and Gary Holt's son on a two year deal. There's levels to the recruitment game, McGlynn's top tier.

He said on commentary at the weekend he was hoping to be back for it but it might be one game too soon.
Keep him in cotton wool, no need to be risking players.

I was having a wee look at Transfermarket to see who's out of contract in the Championship at the end of the season and came up with the following names that will be familiar:
From Raith, there's Sam Stanton, Dylan Easton and Ethan Ross. ICT, Wallace Duffy, who's a RB. From Partick, Jamie Sneddon (G.K.), Jack McMillan (R.B.), Kerr McInroy, Aidan Fitzpatrick and Toni Adeloye who was the Ayr striker that scored two against us in the cup last season. From Q.P. there's goalie Callum Ferrie who was with us for a short time. Morton striker George Oakley, from Airdrie, G.K. Josh Rae, R.B. Cammy Ballantyne and striker Calum Gallagher. From L1 Hamilton there's goalie Ryan Fulton and C.B. Fergus Owens.
Who, if any, do you think would be worth talking too? We'll need a 'keeper and Rae and Fulton are well quoted by their current club's fans. I think we'll need a R.B. as it looks like Finn may be away. Duffy, McMillan and Ballantyne may fit? I also think that Oakley would suit McGlynn's system and is probably more of a goal scorer than MacIvor.
This summers all about quality again as we need to be signing players who are better than what we currently have but we're in a great position given the leagues basically already tied up this early.
Clubs down south also seem more willing to loan players to championship clubs so that opens up our market straight away.
Would love an Akinyemi/Taylor type striker, big physical player who can also shift. Obviously every team is looking for a player like that.

Particularly impressed by Morton left back Lewis Strapp tonight
Was out of contract with Morton last summer and ended up back with them at the tail end of the year so nobody must have fancied him. Think he was on trial at Kilmarnock, very similar to Mccann but has a catapult of a long throw.

Would be great to have Yeats for another 2/3 years as his attitudes fantastic, he leaves everything on the park and with McGlynn's coaching he's only going to get better.

Maybe a silly question, but would we be due a development fee (even a tiny one) for Finn if we’ve offered him a contract and he chooses to go elsewhere?
Yeah we will be so long as we've offered him a deal which is the same or more than what he's on just now.
What that would be is a bit of a nonsense to try work out as it takes loads into consideration. Including how much it cost to provide him with training kit etc.
But given he's been here for 2 years and racked up around 50 appearances I'd like to hope it would be a not bad little sum.

Luke Graham got a chance of being a starter for us next season? How is he doing for you lads? How is he as a player?
He's impressed me in the games he's played against us this season. Not as much as Sam Fisher did for the scum last season but still looks very promising.

McIver is pivotal to the way we play. Think we'd have scored more if he started yesterday, the guys finishing isn't the best but his all round play is fantastic at this level. The winning goal yesterday was a proper old school launch up the park, wee flick on by the big target man down to Oliver to slot it through the goalies legs. Not goal of the season but I sure did love it x
Agree with the start as he's been the foil for our 3 in behind to get themselves goal but in the championship that won't wash.
You can't have a striker missing 3/4 chances a game in that league. IMO we're a much better team than Dunfermline were last season, without looking I'd imagine we've scored more goals, but Wighton managed 16 goals in that team and MacIver's only on 10.
Edit: I did look, 63 goals all season for Dunfermline last season and we're on 67 with 8 games to go.

Bottom line is, we were still the better side in every game recently despite not playing our best. If we’ve ridden our luck in a couple, then same applies in reverse to Annan when we were unlucky to drop points. Swings and roundabouts, nothing rose-tinted about that.
The only game I can think of in the league where we were lucky not to lose was the 1-1 at Queen of the south.
Even in that game if MacIver tucked away a header in the first half we'd have won by 3/4.

Rose tinted spectacles. We were awful for 30mins, 2nd to every ball and our shape was pulled all over by Stirling.
After going to the Stirling Accies game last week I was in no doubt how hard a game we'd get and I thought there would only be a goal in it at most.
we didn't deserve to lose but the win was really fortunate.
So what about the other 60 minutes? As in the majority of the game.

Yes, definitely one worth signing for next season if we can reach an agreement with Hibs, I think he is still under contract with them?
Yeah still got a year left but I can't see them being that difficult to deal with.
