  1. ffs can we talk about the fitba please, the "last word" on "mediagate" was supposed to be aboot 18 posts ago.... Great start to season lets see if we can keep it going, liking the way we are shaping up, particularly impressed with the lad Docherty that cam on a sub on Saturday, very exciting wee player. C`mon the Rose
  2. Another new sub forum, this moving hoose every year malarky is quite exciting. New boys again and we will be looked at by the incumbents to see what we are made of and prove our worth in this league. Reading the last few pages about where we might end up in this league is interesting, surely every team going into the season thinks their team can finish first......no? I would be really disappointed if our aim was anything other than to win the league, we have shown over the games we have played against LL sides that we are a capable side. This isnt saying its easy and winning is expected but we are a good team. Yeah EK must be favourites and rightly so, Bonnyrigg might not even be in the top 5 favourites at the bookies but i am just looking forward to more competitive games and i think we will thrive on the challenge week to week rather than getting 1 tough game in every 5, as per last seasons opponents which left us not as sharp some weeks as we maybe should have been. Will we win it? Who knows, but i for one am certainly looking forward to this coming season as much as i have to any in the last 20 years. Extremely glad to be here and bring on the Lowland League, i genuinely hope the current members will feel we can bring something that adds to the set up.
  3. Hopefully we have a few in the pipeline coming in the way, can see why most of these players would want to leave in search of more game time. Thank you to them all and i wish them all the best.
  4. aye 1 step at a time for these old guys "work done for today guys anyone for the pub and we can defer aocb until say October....."
  5. Hope so but not counting any chickens just yet.
  6. Canni be any worse than the Beith mob we had at our place last year in latter stages of SJC
  7. What kind of crowd do EK get? Edit. Sorry just looked back a page there it was 189 average. Even though near the top in the league in terms of attendance I thought it would be more for some reason
  8. aye he was armed with the leather jacket and tesco carrier bag on Saturday some boy!
  9. That’s the fella. walking past the home fans at HT saying “1/3 on at the bookies you are, ave got £3k on you” at least he is £1k up for team losing also told our gk about 100 times “this is no a diddy team you are playing now” ah the banter
  10. Enjoyed today’s game. Thought we were the better team for start to finish and ran out pretty comfortable. It was nice to see some away fans for a change this season, one in particular with longer grey hair (a bit like the dad from 80’s tv show Bread) was highly amusing. Also fair play to their GK, thought he was excellent for his team was unlucky to be on losing side.
  11. I really dont subscribe to the idea this will be a walk over on Saturday. This is a dangerous time to play Boness and Bonnyrigg will still need to be at their usual best to get a result. Anyone suggesting this is going to be a demolition is delusional. I do fancy us to win but Boness players are hurt and really playing for the pride of the team, their fans and themselves after what happened at Tranent so expect nothing less than 100% determination from them and to make it difficult. My prediction... 3-1 Bonnyrigg
  12. Not pretty at times over the last few weeks but effective. Next 2 or 3 league games are big. Reckon of we beat Dundonald away that will be it all over bar the shouting. edit; sorry Dundonald game is further away than i though. Hopefully should be over by the time we play them.
  13. Seemingly need to have a license by 31st March to play in LL playoffs, hope this is an achievable timescale
  14. The argument about fans is very much my dad is bigger than your dad logic. I never made the game at Boness but have been plenty times before and dont think we have ever outnumber Boness supporters, same is true for Linlithgow. If the statement is remotely true about Boness then their core support must have fallen and our usual away support must have really increased for this game. I remember several season back, Max Christie era i think, and we had a stag doo and half of the team were away from an important match which i think we lost. I remember how pissed off i was at that so if i were a Boness fan i wouldnt be happy at a similar occurence especially in a "big game"
  15. no rush by the looks of things, as long as interim team and players are comfortable with this (looks like they were last Saturday anyway) then i am happy to wait
  16. I would take Johnny, proven himself at the teams he has been at.
  17. on a side note, how good does the park look at NDP Game on Saturday was a non event and i do expect several of these over the season but like someone above said there are tough games in the league section and the players will need to be on it if we are going to be successful in getting into the LL at the first attempt.
  18. Dont know much about him but thats us signed 2 forwards now so looking kind of heavy in that position. Thompson, Lough, McGachie, Swanson, Wilson & Wayne??
