  1. I think we can progress from this section but we wont have to win every game to do so as i see a few teams capable of beating each other in here. This section has more quality than last years EoS so LTHV will not win every game I am sure Boness, Dundonald, Sauchie etc will have a big say.
  2. I must say i had been for the idea of a pyramid for the last few season. I wish the junior clubs at that time the LL was created showed a little more foresight and engaged in the process earlier as it would have made for a stronger set up from the outset. Unfortunately that didnt happen and i did think we were only delaying the inevitable. Here we are a few years later and the tables have turned, i am happy and a little sad about leaving the juniors and in particular Scottish Junior Cup days (especially away). I would like to wish all clubs well whether staying/going and look forward to next year with anticipation and belief we are moving in the right direction. Onto new grounds and new friends. Wouldnt mind being in a conference with Lighty, Nitten & Boness though
  3. Posting on a fitba forum about boxing is suggestive that we are all a bit casual as fans, to a certain extent. Difficult for taking moral high ground on a sub forum of a fitba site. just saying
  4. Hearn put the boot into Snr there, rightly so. He isn't allowed to speak to Eubanks jnr lol Honestly what planet does Chris Eubank Snr live on
  5. On the George Foreman thing I seen him on Sky Sports talking about their fight and he said something along the lines of. " I beat him in the 1st and 2nd I really beat him in the 3rd I beat him in the 4th and 5th and beat him bad in the 6th then he (Ali) leaned to me and said "is that all u got George" (at this point Foreman rolls his eyes) I thought yup thats about all I got "
  6. With respect to the professionals allowed to qualify to compete in the Olympics, this had to come. Why would they allow pros to compete in every other event but make boxing different? How do Britain select their Olympic team? Is it not from the ABA`s so if this is still the case no pro could qualify for British team anyway, under current criteria
  7. Wiz just catching up on thread and thinking either he has been woooooshed or I have. Dave Box Office
  8. Haye is fighting on Dave, not sure casuals would PPV for that
  9. Loved watching Tyson!!! Lewis aye but not as much. Are we talking about Tyson or Lewis after 16 fights or Tyson or Lewis after 30 fight here though?
  10. Lets be honest he is only been hit once in his pro career. He dealt with it, I am not saying he dealt with it well but he dealt with it. I too want to see him extended and hopefully see how good he can be and see if he is out of his depth and cant deal with combos or fancy footwork then fair do`s. The next 18-24 months should be interesting, hopefully we dont get anyone ducking fights. fwiw if Wilder fight comes first for AJ I will be well excited and 2 big bar stewards in the ring wanting to take the head of each other does it for me. I can appreciate the Mayweather type boxer but it doesnt get the juices flowing for me like the big boys taking each other oot. Away fi the big boys, November 19th canni feckin wait, now we will see just how good Ward is. Am not saying he will lose but this is a genuine super fight that hopefully lives up to the billing.
  11. Guys ffs you can only beat what is put in front of you. AJ is still young and relatively inexperienced "big" fights will come his way but in the heavyweight division where almost all (apart from Hughie Fury it seems) guys possess knock out power how can anyone say that fights are not dangerous? Hasim Raqman, Buster Douglas, Oliver McCall, Corry Sanders.... need I go on? These guys have sparked oot champions when totally unexpected so it does happen, more so at this weight than any other. But really what I am trying to get to is who do you need to beat in this division to get any credibility from the boxing experts on this forum? edit I do agree however that AJ has in no way fought the best in the division but I do think it will come in the next 2 years
  12. Sorry I was replying to the post before yours. But this is an open forum feel free to wade in, question I was asking was in response to D_F_L saying Hearn wont let Joshua fight the real danger men. I mean I am sure everyones list will contain same 4-5 fighters maybe but might be a few come in from left field.
  13. Out of interest who do you see as the "real" danger men of the division just now?
  14. Do you think it was "brave" of AJ and probably more importantly Hearn on taking the Whyte fight? I actually do as that could have been a banana skin for them and so many on here said that fight wouldnt have happened then, but it did. I think, no basis just a feeling, AJ wants these big fights and other promoters see money in the AJ fight so whats not to like. If/when he beats Parker I can only see a unification fight after this I still think Fury would be maybe 4/5 fights away from now. That is if both keep hold of their belts until then. I said it in the previous thread (anybody find out who pinched it yet) Haye is the one to be avoided as I can see him taking out the very best in the division right now. He works his way to mandatory shot then whatever champion he fights is going to have problems. Dont see anyone giving him a voluntary thats for sure. Would be great for Haye to be mandatory to Fury after what has went in the past.
  15. I am a Joshua fan, not biggest Fury fan but appreciate what he did in his last fight and deserves respect for that even though he is a clown. For Joshua to get to where he is and having taking the coveted 0`s from his, what, last 3 opponents, come on??? 16 fights and world heavyweight champion?? His first voluntary defense is against someone not that great so what, he will then have to face another undefeated fighter in Parker then early next year he should be looking at Wilder. So in his 19th pro fight he attempts to unify belts. Has this been done before? (serious question) Also should he get knocked out and his ass kicked by anyone for the reasons people state above then at least when you watch him you know you are going to get a fight, which I like. My opinions only but right now I will ride the AJ hype train and see where it takes us
  16. A would put myself in "casual fan" bracket but still want to see the best fights out there. Haye has come back from a long lay off so fair enough the last fight this fight is a stretch, the Briggs fight next for him is a step in the right direction but he needs to get looking up the way not down the way for an opponent after that....Dillian Whyte??
  17. Watched Haye fight, pretty poor show dont think the guy landed one punch in the whole fight. If you r back then fight someone decent absolutely no point in digging up these guys who dont even want to throw anything back. There must be someone in the top 10 rankings that would fight David Haye, get it done and stop wasting fans time and money.
  18. Once saw a shuttle heading up when over in Orlando, was a proper wow moment. Wasnt anticipating it just noticed it in the sky one afternoon (couldni fvckin miss it tbf)
  19. I pay £125 per year at Kings Acre but still have to pay to play (at reduced rate) suits me when you only play around 20 games per year. Think full membership is around £650 with a £650 joining fee, if they ever did away with joining fee i would probably join as a full member. If nothing else it would encourage me to play more. Very frustrating year played much better last year. Hcp 17
  20. Anyone selling a SLDR driver? Looking to buy r/h 10.5o loft stiff flex
  21. Is that her ma or just a bad picture of her pal, either way wid, wid
  22. Any pictures of said daughter going about??
  23. Hows everyone getting on with the golf? How crap has the weather been this month!! I have been playing 2-3 times a week with football season being off and really enjoyed it. Few changes in the bag recently. I have had Callaway x hot irons for 2 years, not played alot and switched from Mizuno t Zoid to them. Never really "felt" them so started looking for new irons a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to go back to mizuno. Heart set on EZ Forged, not eveyones cup of tea but they actually look alright. Went in to hit them and it totally burst my bubble, they were not a good fit, lost about 2 clubs with them but if I am comparing like for like with lofts etc the EZ forged is a club behind the Callaway anyway taking that into consideration I am still a club down. I really wanted to like these clubs but they have a sustantial offset so I was throwing everything r to l when my irons are normally very straight which is weird as I checked offset on my Callaway clubs and turns out the have MORE offset than the EZ Forged?? I was very disappointed, even the fitter told me to forget these irons. He said he would go and get a few other irons/shafts, he said not to have a look at the sole or badge and just hit them. So hit 5 balls with each (4 different clubs) with varying result. Narrowed it down to 2 which I found out to be Titliest AP2 714 and Mizuno MP54 I hit more balls with each of these checked data etc Long story short I ended up with a set of Mizuno MP54 with DG S300 shafts which I am over the moon with. I have "lost" a club length but the fact is these irons are more than 1 club weaker than my X Hots so although I have not gained any distance, maybe about the same as before, more importantly distance is defo NOT the reason I bought them. (AP2s going on average 4 yard carry more hitting 20 balls each) The feel of Mizuno forged clubs is better than anything else in golf that I have experienced. So soft and responsive it took it to a new level for me and was a real discovery having not hit a club with anything like this experience before, I played a round last night and ended up hitting 4 iron off some par 4 tees to get better use of mid irons into greens lol Happiest I have been in ages with an iron in my hand, plus the looks are classic Mizuno which to me are amazing. I would urge anyone who is thinking of a new set to at least hit a mizuno forged (MP range I would recommend) The hardest thing I found and it did catch me out a few times is although I know they are a club weaker I was still trying (stupidly) to hit same iron as X Hots thinking I can do this for it to drop short. Its in my head but I think it will take a few rounds to get used to this, especially when someone your playing with brings out a cranked 7i on a par 3 and hits it 170yds up a slope and you say I might struggle with a 6i here and have to take the 5 and you get all funny look as if you have not eaten your wheetabix. All lofts/lengths are not created equal! I know they have been making these types for years and years and I am late on the bandwagon but just had to share this experience. Also purchased SLDR 5 wood 19o loft and 7 wood at 23o loft, not got them yet but will have them on Monday and will be gamed early next week, maybe even Monday night. FYI shot 81 last night with a 6 up the last which broke my heart as I though I was breaking 80 with first round with new irons. Putting and driving was the problem a mid 70`s round is defo within reach. Happy golfing
  24. Got my ticket for Sunday at St Andrews, looking forward to this already, hopefully the weather stays ok. Cant see past Speith for this, especially if there is not much wind. If its a bit blowy then Rickie Fowler has shown he can handle these conditions so has to be up there.
