Case in point about hybrid, I am 210 yards out on par 5 last night, I have 3 wood, 3hybrid or 5 iron in bag. 3 wood is going 30 yards over green 3h is about there and 5 iron is dropping 25 yards short. I was playing well, 3h not out the bag (starting to think its a mental thing with 3h) decided I am being silly this is perfect range for it takes it out swings club almost a shank flies to right hits off a tree on the OB line and bounces back in play 40 yards further up than where I was, take out a 6 iron, thin this to right chip on and 3 putt.....KABOOM 7 from a perfect drive! I am taking it out my bag altogether, was going to snap it over my knee last night, a fvckin hate hybrids. 5w will be purchased this weekend and need something to plug gap between 5w and 5 iron which is quite large so 7 wood looks like a must.

I Have got a 3h and its a passenger in my bag, hit it shit and has big offset so tends to fly right to left (hook) more than any club in my bag, fed up with it so decided to look at a 5w, not had a 5w since I was about 15 yrs old so going to try it out. Notice the SLDR has a 5w in 19 degree and also have another wood (7 wood) at 23 degree and without hitting this I am very interested. I have got Callaway x hot irons starting at 5i so I am thinking 5w will replace my 3 hybrid which I bought to replace 3i, and offer maybe extra 10 yards on this and a 7w would replace my 4 iron. Anybody else got a 7 wood in their bag? Anybody else got hybrid they cant see to hit work with?

11 holes in 1, does he play every fckin day? Never had any came close a few times. Anyway played last night, first try of Addidas Gripmore and was very very pleased, very comfortable even for first time on, great grip and support never in anyway felt comprimised when swinging, wasnt a wet round but performed superbly, pity I couldnt say the same about my golf, shot a 90 and had an 8 on the card without losing a ball at the hole, still in shock about that. Also tried Wilson FG Tour golf balls, got sample pack with 2 in it but lost them both by the 8th, this ball is Wilsons prov1 but hasnt done enough to make me change from prov1 to them. To be honest the way I am striking the ball just now it wouldnt matter if it was a Pinnacle Gold or a prov1 I was hitting. Struggling to get any consistency just now. My drives are all over the place one l to r next one r to l then boom one straight. I cant play for particular shape of shot if i hit a l to r then next hole aim it up left I will hit it r to l and be a mile of target, beginning to do my nut in.

Well, bought the Adidas Gripmore shoes today. The Gripmore are far more comfortable than the addigrip £20 dearer but worth it I think. I will report back once I have played a round on Monday.

A take it the grip is good in wet weather etc, a think I am going to buy a pair but just got a wee hanging doubt in my mind that I will slide all over the course, like the idea you put a pair of shoes on in your house and take them of when you get back home, no need to change and carry about another pair. Thats the laziness in me, just bought a Powacaddy FW5 electric trolley as well which I wish I had done years ago, magic tool for the job!!!

Does anyone were the casual shoes with no spikes i.e Adidas Adicross? Are they good, do you get into clubhouses with these on?

Electric Golf Trolleys think of getting one of these, anybody got one? I have a normal trolley but played a medal with someone with an electric and the thing looked great. I am pretty lazy so anything that makes my life a wee bit easier I am all for. Anybody got any advice what kind to get. Wont be getting the ones that are over a grand thats for sure. Thinking about £350-£400 is limit

Anyone on here a member at Cruden Bay GC? If their junior team beats Tayport we are playing them up there in 2nd round of Junior Cup, wouldnt mind a overnight stay with round of golf thrown iin but its £95 a go but only £15 if you are an introduced guest.

Picked a weekend of March 13th, checked out games and Dortmund, Leverkusen & Mochengladback are all at home that week. Flights coming in about £100 and 3 night in Dusseldorf about £120 so under £500 for me and the laddie, pretty sold on this so hopefully out of these 3 games 1 might be held on Sunday so we can get to a game on both Sat & Sun! Good times ahead!!

if thats the game u are going to see would u not be better staying in Hamburg or even Berlin?

Last question, in what order would you place these clubs for atmosphere at games and overall experience, including Dortmund and Schalke?

thanks for the info, had a quick look at flights and there is a company called Germanwings that fly from Glasgow to Dusseldorf of Friday amd return on Monday for about £100 return. Anybody know of any better deals or options?

German Jag you seem to be up to speed on this thread with good advice so wondered if you can help me. I want to take my 8yr old son to a German match maybe around Nov. this year or maybe March next year. Am i right in saying if I stay in Dusseldorf that I could easily take in a Saturday and Sunday game in a weekend without to much travel? He really wants to go to Dortmund game maybe Schalke next on his list, whats chances of getting tickets for this, do I build his hopes up? If not what teams are more realistic in that area? What sort of prices are we talking for tickets?

3 cards in for my Handicap at Kings Acre, 94 and 86 from boxes and 96 from medal tees but this included a 10 and an 8 !! Not received word on handicap yet but I think maybe around the 20 mark??? Was out last night and shot 77 putting for birdie more times that I think ever before, this is 2 days after shooting 96, its a funny old game!

Just joined Kings Acre GC, really nice course. Played it a couple of times a few years back but played it on Sunday and handed card in to get handicap, shot a 94, way too inconsistent, another card off boxes next week and playing in medal the following week and I will have handicap, pity its getting later into season should have done this 4 months ago

Got them at American Golf at Braids Driving Range in Edinburgh not sure if the boy was a pro or not that fitted me but he seemed to know what he was on about, Dont get me wrong I am hitting new driver and irons further but probably has alot to do with stronger lofts and longer length than what I had before.

Bought new driver and irons last night, needed irons, driver was just a bit impulse buying. Anyway was getting fitted using and used flightscope to record data which is first time I have ever seen these figures. Didnt matter what driver i used my spin rate was around 4500-5000 even when i was hitting it pretty straight, wtf am I doing wrong as the boy said I should be aiming for around 2000 rpm. Also was surprised to hear that when u swing over 105mph most of off shelf stuff is too soft. Ended up with Taylormade Jetspeed and Callaway xhot irons, canni wait to get out and hack round with them
