  1. If we’d just hired him 2 months ago then yes, but he failed last season as well. We had Andy Ryan and still managed to finish as the 6th worst team in the SPFL. People were very angry at that point. He doesn’t have a bank of goodwill to buy him some time with fans. My concern is the board — who I suspect aren’t anywhere near as decisive or clinical enough on footballing matters — will wait until the season is shot and then make a change.
  2. Been dabbling in a 3D drawing package. Did Stirling Albion's main stand first of all. Since I have a few Killie pals I've done the Main Stand at Rugby Park. Feel free to print it out, scrunch it up and throw it at Ayr fans.
  3. That’s us won one of our last 6 league games stretching back into last season. Manager has had a few years now, he’s had decent money to spend and we’re nowhere near as good as we should be. The decision to get rid of Binnie and keep Currie was baffling to most in the summer. By now it looks downright daft. Annan must have one the smallest budgets in the league yet won 3-0 at Stranraer and 3-1 against us. Clearly their manager — unlike ours — knows how to get the best out of the players at his disposal.
  4. Yeah I'm the same -- expectintg Montrose to be a shade odds-on by kick-off.
  5. Mi$$ed a trick! And then you could add the Japanese Yen symbol in place of the y. K£lt¥ H£art$ By the end of the season every letter in their name will be represented by a currency.
  6. Surprised to see Stenhousemuir as long at 10/3 at bet365 (or 16/5 at William Hill) to win at Edinburgh City on Friday evening. Bookies pricing this up like it was last season, but Edinburgh have shed a few decent players amongst rumours of cost cutting. The Warriors are probably marginally stronger than last term. Should be a fairly even game. Again, not sure if Stenny will win but I can see their odds coming into 5/2 or thereabouts.
  7. Almost as quickly as you vanished off the match thread after your defeat last weekend. “lolz” indeed
  8. It’s great how we get interviews with the manager on YouTube after every game but it’s all friendly softball questions. I’d love someone to challenge him on why our home league form is so atrocious, why he released Binnie etc. He’s been given a decent budget to sign a decent team but let’s be honest he failed last season and I’m worried he’s going to find a way to fail again this season. That performance today was so inept, he really does seem to make us less than the sum of our parts.
  9. Watched the highlights of yesterday’s game… leaving aside the infuriating automated camera situation, the commentary duo for Warriors TV do a very good job. Fair play to whoever does this, keep up the good work.
  10. Very hard fought, physical encounter. Not a lot of attractive football, a lot of balls in the air and a plethora of fouls, but one bit of skill and composure created the chance we scored from. Delighted to start with 3 points from a tough fixture. Special thanks to whichever Stenny player was clean through in the first half and decided not to bother shooting. On the whole the Warriors have assembled a pretty decent team considering the volume of turnover. Maybe lacking a creative edge but I expect they’ll be in the top half this season.
  11. Looking forward to this. Doubt we’ll keep a clean sheet as our defence & goalkeeper are probably not our strengths, and Stenhousemuir have a couple of decent strikers. However I fully expect us to score at least once as we looked pretty menacing going forward last weekend. Will be a very tough opening game and to be honest while I’m hoping for a win, I’d be ok with a draw. Defeat would be a real setback with Kelty to come the next weekend. We’ve been handed 2 difficult opening games. Prediction 2-2. Or 1-2. Or 1-1. Or 1-3. Or 2-3. Or 1-7. Definitely one of those.
  12. Aye I just saw that! Just shows how wrong the initial price was.
  13. Two great value prices available now which will probably be much shorter by the time 3pm on Saturday comes: Kelty are 5/6 with SkyBet & BetFred to win at home to Cowdenbeath. Considering Kelty are odds-on to win the league, I'm not sure why they are 5/6 for this game. I think the price will be nearer 1/2 by kick-off. Queen's Park are 7/5 most places to win at East Fife. East Fife fans are as pessismistic as any following their league cup showings. I would make QP about 4/5 for this one. Not promising both Kelty & QP will win, but I'm sure the current odds are value.
  14. Ah ok, the penny drops. As it's a terracing ticket with "no access to the Norway stand", I had assumed (wrongly) it was intended for away fans. So it's actually the tickets intended for home fans on priority and instead it's turned into a free for all. Where were home fans situated for the League Cup games?
  15. A Stirling Albion fan posted on the SA fans' facebook page at 10pm Monday that they were on sale on Fanbase. First come, first served. People started buying them immediately. No idea how that person knew they were there, perhaps a regular Fanbase user. Two hours later SAFC twitter also pointed out tickets were on Fanbase. Main issue is why tickets were made available for sale if they're not meant to be released until Thursday? I am surprised there's tickets still available right now if the limit is meant to be 100, I hope whoever is responsible remembered to put the limit on.
  16. It's that time of year where optimism abounds until the league games begin and the joy is quickly sucked out of you. Stirling Albion looked like having a very strong squad until our best player (and main source of goals) Andy Ryan left for Hamilton. With no sign of a replacement and a manager who arguably made us less than the sum of the parts last season, I can't see us troubling top spot. We'll probably finish 3rd. Kelty look depressingly strong, and I'd expect Elgin / Edinburgh / Forfar / Stenhousemuir to be challenging for the playoffs. Stranraer may regress slightly. Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers, and Annan all have reasons to hope the new season will be better than the last one. No obvious candidate to finish bottom.
  17. We also won on pens at Meadowbank one midweek. Probably the Challenge Cup or something like that. Mid 90s I think.
  18. Hope he does well but not especially bowled over. We've just lost our best player and main goal threat, wonder if we're planning to bring in a replacement or not.
  19. I can assure you that's not my view at all, it was all about perspective and society's willingness to move past an individual's transgressions. You're free to disagree but don't make up quotes which entirely misrepresent my views.
  20. No sir. Not my intention at all. I’m more keen people at least consider forgiveness and moving on, when you consider it’s been done before for even worse crimes.
  21. Individual fans are free to feel however they wish on this, but it's maybe not a bad idea to keep some perspective here. The Livingston manager has done time for drug dealing. The Motherwell captain (and possible Scotland 2020 defender) attacked a man on the head with a baseball bat and served time. David Goodwillie has captained Clyde despite being found guilty of rape. Another Clyde player was found to have racially abused another player. The recently released Stenhousemuir captain is a registered sex offender. Troy Deeney captained Watford for several seasons despite being jailed for a brutal assault on an innocent man. Ray Stewart attacked a man and broke his jaw and did 240 hours of community service before going on to manage several clubs. The purpose of pointing that out isn't whataboutery, but to show people needn't be defined by what they did in their worst moments. I share the view Mackay could do with some public contrition (though several of the examples above showed none). As horrible as his texts were, I personally don't think he deserves eternal damnation for his sins, certainly not when relative to a player who has beaten someone unconcious and risked actually killing another human being. Cancel culture means people are extremely sensitive to any discriminatory issues. People are also scared to speak up and show any forgiveness for fear of being labelled a bigot / racist / sexist themselves. However if Show Racism The Red Card and Kick It Out etc are saying the man deserves his chance, I think as a society people should at least consider it.
  22. Surely to f**k Alloa — a club who usually make sound decisions — have more sense than to appoint Barry Ferguson. He’s an abrasive scrote with the man management skills of Donald Trump. If he hadn’t played for Rangers and you judged him purely on his managerial record, there’s no way he’d be getting considered.
  23. Next week we’re signing Brian Carrigan, Keith Knox, and Joe Miller.
  24. We are missing our best player -- Andy Ryan -- who scores and creates lots of goals. We are also about to play our 4th game in 8 days whereas for Stranraer it's "only" their 3rd game. I will be very surprised if we win.
  25. Oh well, looks like we'll need to liven the big Forth Valley derby up next season. Let's arrange a ruck outside Larbert train station and some pyrotechnics at the game to mark the next hate-fuelled occasion.
