  1. Thank you so much. I now have a real reason to be thankful for watching the game, because I didn't see them.
  2. Utd were by far the better team, but I think it was as much do do with how shite the Pars were as it was Utd playing well. Our defence was queuing up to give Utd chances in the first half. How the feck we took Celtic to extra time, I'll never know. In my extensive experience of being let down by Dunfermline Athletic a great performance has tended to be followed by a pile of pish. I can only assume that they play well and then believe their own publicity and consequently lose all of their focus and intensity (across generations and multiple managers). So far we've played brilliantly and drawn with Dundee., played sh1te and drawn with Queens, played brilliantly and lost to Celtic and played sh1te and lost to Utd. That suggests a season where we'll be inconsistent and win some and lose some, without troubling the top or bottom of the league. Standard championship season ahead, but hopefully some of it will be fun.
  3. Amazing to see Celtic tie wasting at the end. COYP.
  4. Lucky Nisbet remembered the game plan. Don't score too early, it'll only upset them.
  5. Get used to the AJ tactical manual. It's taken me right back to last season watching this.
  6. Yup. Hopeful those two can strike up a bit of a partnership. Nisbet looks like a really intelligent player. Could he be the Brewster to Ryan's Crawford (but with more pace and more goals of his own)?
  7. I know he came from The Rovers, but I have to say I like Nisbet. He seems much more intelligent than your average lino sniffer.
  8. It's going to be an inconsistent season, but it would be great if we were good at home. Pars TV was a bit sketchy last week, but the players look pretty comfortable this week.
  9. The first thing that happens is that the lawyers get their money. Always.
  10. I think I'm right in saying John Potter's family got abuse in the street at one point before he stepped down. The atmosphere last season before AJ went was pretty rank. You were having a go at St Mirren fans for wanting rid of a succession of managers. Pars fans are just as bad. We've had some shocking managers in my time watching the Pars (Jocky Scott anyone?) , but it feels to me like the support is less patient than it's ever been...or I might just be getting old.
  11. I'm not sure Pars fans should be throwing stones in this particular glass house. The treatment of the last few managers has not been a model of patience and politeness and there are a fair few people that were pretty negative about Crawford.
  12. In the train wreck that was the second half of last season the biggest positive for SC was probably the players that he brought in during the transfer window. That's more or less what kept us up. Presumably the board trust his judgement enough to give him a proper season to have a go at. He's cleared out the guys that goy paid too much and/or didn't want to be there. I'm interested to see how he gets on. I hope most Pars fans would be happy to see a younger, hungrier team on the park. Whether they have the patience to stay off their backs is another question!
  13. That's exactly what he was like when we first got him. Then he seemed to turn into a footballer. Maybe it was a one season wonder, but hopefully he can become a footballer again.
  14. I'm not usually in favour of players, or even managers, returning. It generally doesn't work. But...sometimes it does...
  15. Any Dundee fans give a toss about Faiss rejoining the Pars? I'm delighted to have him bak (see what I did there), because I think he can score goals in the Championship and I think he can also improve. He took time to find his feet at the Pars first time round. Has he done anything useful in his time at Dens?
  16. Yes...and I'm sure they cleared the rights to use the music as well.
  17. The first person the GASL had to fool for the con to work was Gerrard, hence the four year contract. "We're totally stable Stevie, no worries there...by the way, do you mind if we pay you in fivers from the pie stand this month, because we don't have a bank account any more?"
  18. What are the odds on Sevco losing all of their games after the split?
  19. Yes, but not the magic pre-season trips to Holland. The sh1tey pre-season trips to clubs in the same division.
  20. Seems like Sevco's lack of success in finding a manager could be concomitant with being totally skint.
