  1. Rangers fans can buy tickets on the day so i see no reason that away fans can't. In saying that our club would not sell away tickets on matchday putting it down to the away teams responsibility. Surely though that's different circumstances when you consuder ticket games at the BBS are due to the chance of a sell out whereas ibrox will be less than a third full tomorrow.
  2. Jordan Allan maybe. He's only 19 and out of contract in January. Doesn't seem to have played many games for Morton but is ex Dundee utd youth.
  3. Thats a bit of a turnaround from you but a fair and sensible post. What it shows is that there's pro's and con's to both arguments and we shouldn't dismiss either out of hand until we know all the detail. As well as many of you, i have yet to be convinced that moving is required. Yet i can see that a 4000 capacity ground with training facilities, if delivered witbout the need to move until completion, and debt free is a fairly attractive proposition. However there are many ifs that need to be answered prior to me accepting this proposal as the right way ahead.
  4. There's loads i could add to this debate but 1 point that Wilf makes about weddings. The club want to maximise it's wedding venue capability. As o'kelly says we are a football club first and foremost. Also has anyone from the club considered that the BBS may well be desirable to some as a venue due to its central locality and castle as backdrop. Who wants to get married in a Football stadium just off the A82 with no scenic back drop for photos, etc? Also the main wedding season runs May to August so we have availability for the majority of that period.
  5. Well done Balloch sons fan for a great update. I'm going down tomorrow and am as concerned as most of us seem to be about this.
  6. Yes but the trail of the thread was related to complaints about getting to the ground to exchange a season ticket voucher for a match ticket for Rangers cup game. So not sure of your point here?
  7. I don't believe that is likely. How would rangers fans be able to verify you season ticket seat number and name and address.
  8. This is true but was only officially communicated to fans today after the outcry on P&B and several emails to the club. At least common sense prevails on this and the club are actually now taking payment this way and telling us they are.
  9. Supersons bumped into him on Friday night and he says he's still a few weeks away from being fit.
  10. It's £80 for both Dumbarton and Rangers fans unless you are a season ticket holder in which case it's £70. All the tickets for the Rangers part of hospitality were handled and maketed by Rangers so if the chap that claimed to pay £100 is correct then perhaps Rangers are charging a surcharge for their part.
  11. There's no way it will be at the rock. Anything going there will be residential. Hopefully they take a unit at the Artisan centre.
  12. I think the answer to your question has already been answered by Howlin Wilf. However as the question was again my post i'll give you my answer. I didn't assume anything, I said apparantly they getting it for nothing, maybe as wilf says not nothing but very preferential rates. It might be something to do with who currently owns that land and no they're not stupid.
  13. There's only one reason we are planning to relocate to a slightly bigger more out the way stadium and it's to give the Brabco directors a return on the money they invested when Neil Rankine sold up. Yes they've tried to dress it up with other facilities including 5 aside football pitches but if anyone thinks for a minute it's to take the club forward then i fear you are mistaken. It's only a coincidence we are doing well just now when this was announced, the club have been waiting on the real estate value to increase again as the sale of the ground is where all the money will come from. Apparantly we'll get Youngs farm for nothing so if our current site was worth around £6m and we could build our stadium and pitches for around £4m there's a nice wee earner for our Brabco friends. If the other facilities were built i think they would be from private investment and not the club I'd love to be wrong about this but very much doubt it.
  14. Agree this is something many if us were suspicious about when he was with us. Im not actually sure he got involved with livvy until after us but he was certainly involved with East Fife. So glad to be rid of him, as dodgy as they come in my opinion
  15. My view on this is: Lumsden won't be near the 1st team and is for under 20 squad so only really 2 1st team keepers signed. Out of those 2, Ewings has an achilles injury and could be out for a bit. Also Grindlay is due a testimonial so would be pretty rotten of murray not to sign him up as he still a decent keeper at this level despite what some fans may say. Still a bit strange he never assigned the no.1 jersey to anyone but he does seems to want a better keeper than those signed up.
  16. Yip he was definitely injured for a decent part of season. Perhaps a Ton fan can confirm? He'll no be coming to us anyway so probably doesn't matter much.
  17. Totally agree with you and was just going to do a very similar post. Anyone any ideas on which players we may be targetting to fill these positions? Craig Gordon would be a cracker but extremely unlikely. Kane on loan again would be nice, again unlikely, how about someone like Craig Beattie? As for a centre half, no idea who's available.Regards Ryan Donnelly, i know the early promise he showed at Airdrie hasn't materialised but does no one think he's worth a punt?
  18. Fair enough but if we really wanted to put temporary stands up we would have found a way. I believe there just was not the will to drive it forward. Planning was a hurdle but was in no way the reason we have no additional accomodation. Maybe i'm a cynic but to me it's so obvious whats going on here.
  19. Just think if we had sorted temporary stands. We wouldn't have such problems. Of course all these issues are linked to the same ploy to get us out of BBS to young's farm and prove the point the stadium isn't fit for purpose, albeit for one season only.
  20. I bought my ST the day they went on sale. However if you recall there was a bit of an outcry on this very thread about the price increase and im not sure everyone anticipated a huge increase in ST. Yes they would probably go up but no-one expected this particularly not been forewarned. So there's no excuse really.
  21. Agree with the majority on here that this is an utter shambles and a punch in the face to any loyal sons fan who hadn't had the opportunity to renew yet. To state several times that your seat would be held until 20th june but make no mention there was a cut off number is not the 2ay fans should be treated. As has been said several times a quick update earlier in the week would have sufficed. In many ways i'm not surprised by this latest balls up and there will be many more where this one came from. I only hope the trust has as big an influence it has in past seasons on some of the decision making or we may well see more.
  22. Why is the sons sorrow thread being turned into summer football debate much of which is coming from other fans that have no interest in Dumbarton. Stop it now and lets get back to discussing potential signings and stuff more specific to Dumbarton.
  23. That would be telling. I do understand however that they are happy to sign new contracts and its just the paperwork that needs to be complete. Probably explains the earlier posts about Meggs signing. I think that was meant to happen but for some reason didn't although he has agreed to sign.
  24. McGinn says on Dundee fc website he was blown away by how the dundee game on the last game of season. He also says a number of clubs were chasing him but after speaking to Paul Hartley that made his mind up.
