  1. To be honest apart from the announcement for Thriller Thursday which got our hopes up. The twitter feed has been very quiet so I stopped expecting much more as they do normally say a more to get us excited.
  2. Nope. All I'll say is he's been mentioned by sons fans before as a good player in a previous transfer window discussion.
  3. Aye supersons. That is a good signing if it comes off. Sorry lads I'm sworn to secrecy on this one😉
  4. I think that post just put up on our website confirms Stevie's going nowhere. https://www.dumbartonfootballclub.com/news/?mode=view&id=2459
  5. It looks like Gary Locke will be the new Raith manager. So let's get on with our pre-season plans and get in some new signings.
  6. Scored a screamer of a volley against you guys in a 5-1 win for us at the recs in Jan 2014.
  7. It appears Stevie Aitken being the clear front runner for Raith job have been exaggerated. http://m.fifetoday.co.uk/sport/football/quality-names-in-the-frame-for-raith-job-1-4132670#ixzz497P0yRSB Edited to add didn't see the link posted earlier in thread. Doh!
  8. Dumfries is further than Kirkcaldy from where he lives.
  9. Brian Reid would have been a good shout but Queen of the south want him. Gustav McPherson has done a good job with Queens Park. He has a lot of experience and whilst would not be everyone's cup of tea I think he could be a good appointment.
  10. Stranraer coming up was always our best hope. Regardless who folks thought were the better team, Ayr are potentially much bigger than we are with a much bigger support. They'll probably invest in the summer and will be a much improved team next season. Hopefully we can improve from last season though and still be competing to stay in the league. I do think we'll be big favourites for relegation.
  11. Yip that's all it takes. One dictator director to cut right back and there you are. Luckily for us he managed to sell boghead and we had public funding safeguarding our future or God knows where we would be.
  12. Am I missing something here or is your arithmetic hopeless. The distances you have just quoted implies Ayr is bang in the middle between Dumbarton and Stranraer. So none are closer.
  13. Ross Forbes could maybe get into that XI.
  14. I don't think questioning the decision to scrap the development team constitutes me slating the club. Where in my post do you suggest I was slating the club?
  15. I don't agree. Sends out the wrong signals that we are a club that now won't give kids a chance as no way to progress to 1st team. We were probably struggling to attract the best local youngsters the way things were but I reckon we'll struggle more now. Is it just a coincidence that the scrapping of the u-20s occurs when Gilbert is no longer with us? I understand he was a great advocate of our development scheme. I also hear we have withdrawn from the community partnership that saw the new 4G pitch installed at Dumbarton east park. Why withdraw now when our input has resulted in a brand new 4G pitch? Again was Gilbert not heavily involved with this? We maybe need some new blood down at the rock to challenge such decisions and drive us on. What's the trust saying about this?
  16. Folks excuse the approach but some of you will recall George Tibbs a lifelong Dumbarton fan who passed away almost 2 years ago. George had Pancreatic cancer. He was my wife's uncle and her cousin is doing the Glasgow 10K in memory of George to raise funds for a Pancreatic cancer charity. She asked if I could publicise the cause to any Dumbarton fans who knew George. If any of you are interested in sponsoring her I have included the link below. www.justgiving.com/Theresa-McIntyre2
  17. I'd chuck it while you're ahead. Oops you're not ahead. Probably best still to chuck it anyway. You're not winning this argument on this thread. Maybe the Rangers thread but not this one. I agree the flag is offensive but can also be argued to be not and hence it is tolerated. However that idiots rant cannot. Glad they clamping down. He won't do it again hopefully.
  18. I hear we're finished for this transfer window and there's no more to come. Sorry to spoil the fun. In fairness it's not been a bad window for us and i think we've got better than we shipped out. Remains to be seen how they work out but i'm quietly confident.
  19. Our official away allocation is normally 790 or there abouts as that's what the away end holds. There are about 300-400 hospitality and 800-900 home end seats. There has been occassions when home end tickets have been in the hands of away fans normally Rangers and they have been obtained through false pretences. I am aware however of 3 occassions that Morton and Rangers fans obtained official tickets for 1 section in the home end roughly 150 seats or so. This could happen. Hospitality moght be your best bet and is normally £60. Might be a bit more expensive for this game if ticket demand is high.
  20. Damn tooting, Stevie boy likes his Herbalife.
  21. Yip and reporting a slight delay. I'll go and make that cup of tea they suggest.
  22. Should be a decent signing for us. Great story too and as already said hope he does well for us and has a good future. Still needing a striker though.
