  1. Can anyone recall how much we got for John Boyd when we sold him to St.Mirren? I recall being annoyed at the time as he was one of our best players.
  2. At that time did we not draw Rangers 3 times in 2 years in cups??
  3. In those days we sold players too. But yeah there was a bit of local businessmen stumping up cash now and again.
  4. That's me ordered a couple if tops. One for me and one for my boy. Like PWL my strip wearing days should be over too in terms of physique, etc. However I'll give it one my try with a 4XL and see how it goes[emoji6]. In fairness the Joma tops are really neat and designed for a more toned body than tops of old.
  5. The badge is that orangey colour on the tweet as well. Did anyone notice the season tickets were orange too?
  6. Folks sorry to disappoint but the woman in the Morrison's fish counter informs me that the strip unveiling got postponed today. Maybe need to wait until next training session.
  7. Not sure what's happened to the new strip claxon. My sources?
  8. Strip being unveiled before tomorrow's training session. Maybe around 11a.m.
  9. I went to a DFC video night some time in the early 90s. It took place in the old presidents club bar at Boghead. They showed footage of 4 or 5 games one of which I'm sure was the Scottish cup semi final against Hearts. If I recall the night was organised jointly by the old presidents club in conjunction with the supporters club which at that time was being ran by Alec Dixon. I can't recall exactly who was there to verify. Of those i remember were George Tibbs, and both Alec and Jean Dixon of all of whom have passed away. I'm pretty sure John Wailes was there who was a councillor for a while and wrote with the local paper. Not seem him in 20 years or so. Big Jim Cunningham and Cammy Bruce were there too I think. Can anyone recall this evening of Dumbarton TV footage entertainment?
  10. I still can't get my head round Locke loaning him out to us. Totally bizarre.
  11. I thought he got some game time against queens park in the cup when they put us out after extra time at Hampden. Or did that game go to extra time? Seem to remember Fleming missing a pen right at the end of the 90 to win it and we ended up getting put out.
  12. I see stiker Josh Peters has signed for Livingston. Did we not trial him last close season?
  13. So is there more? I can't see any tweets with another klaxon.
  14. What's the deal you then drifter? Do you work within the media? I initially thought you may been involved working with Queens but then you wouldn't be posting as much as you do if that were the case.
  15. Aitken definitely brought in Stuart Millar.
  16. I think you'll find it's not typical. His 2nd team is a big rival of Hibs.[emoji6][emoji6]
  17. That was a very good interview. Wee Stevie always comes across really well. He is a genuine top bloke. I like the way he answers the questions and he seems very honest and realistic about things. That interview certainly gives us some confidence moving ahead.
  18. That's right Supersons I remember. You were sitting down from me in the 2nd half when he ran the show. Was it 5-0 we won?
  19. That's right give us the Dobster and all is forgiven.[emoji6]
  20. Not a lack of ambition. We are skint. Least income In the league bar Brechin. To increase the budget beyond expected income would mean going into debt and our owners will not dip into their pockets unfortunately. Let's be clear also our board are not Brabco and I don't see much blame on them for us having less budget than last year. E.g no Hibs.
  21. I suppose when some good news does come we'll be all the more grateful for it.
  22. I'm getting impatient now with the lack of anything happening with the club. I know it's early days but no positive news has came through since the season ended. I mentioned the other day folk need to calm down. I'm not calm any more. Need a positive news story to lift my close season blues. This is torture.
  23. I understand the Raith fan that quoted Stevie being in the shortlist of 3 is indeed bang on and we will just need to wait until an appointment is made by Raith which I hope will be early this week. Clearly we can then move forward whether it be arranging a new manager or with Stevie. Not ideal but as I said before it's the price you pay for success.
  24. Yip sums it up that does. It would be really great to have a sugar daddy but we don't and there is a price to pay for over achieving every year. I do think season ticket prices could have been subject to some consultation but would that have made any difference? Who knows? I would however rather pay more for my season ticket than pay less and be in league 1. This season will potentially be the most challenging yet despite a poorer looking all round opposition due to funding issues. That's when your sugar daddy could come in handy. Or maybe the good folks of Dunbartonshire could see our plight and come out in numbers, probably better chance of pigs flying. The reality is we're from a small town and are punching above our weight. I just hope it continues and we somehow manage to keep this run going for the foreseeable.
