  1. There's a prearranged function on Saturday. The club must have thought we wouldn't get this far. Which is fair enough given our woeful record.
  2. Seems like it could be a decent signing for us. Hopefully works out and gives us a better goal threat. Regards all the other annoyances this season. They do need to sort out that F****g car park rule not letting folk leave until 5pm. Makes absolutely no sense and encourages drivers to park elsewhere causing other issues and some folk will just not bother going at all. All these wee niggling off field things have got me well pissed off this season. Anyhow I hadn't posted my dissatisfaction since my post on Saturday and whilst I've calmed down a bit I'm still raging. Was going to pen an email to the club requesting some answers but will see if there are any changes this weekend 1st as they must know it's pissed quite a few folk off.
  3. Me too. I'm going to wait until tomorrow when I may have calmed down before posting. Whilst things on the pitch are worrying It's actually the off pitch stuff I am more concerned about just now as the club and fan relationship must be at an all time low. I am livid about today's car park carry on. The club are total amateurs in every respect and are treating fans appallingly. I'm seriously considering a boycott until things improve. As Snudge pointed out the matchday experience is awful. You might get away with it if we're playing well but you just shouldn't be treating fans like that. I never thought I'd say this but things in the post Alan Jardine era are actually worse. Right I'm nipping it before I say something I regret. I'll come back when I've calmed down.
  4. Just checking. There was quite a few fans on here that wanted nothing to do with last night's tie against Rangers Colts. Many stayed away in protest about the leagues inclusion of colt teams in the In Bru cup. Therefore boycotting the game. Now Correct me if I'm wrong here but most seem to be ok with playing a team from another country. Fair enough. So the protest only applies to games where we play colts and other than that most fans are fine with going to other games in the competition provided it's not against Colts? But isn't the whole tournament been compromised in the 1st place and any meaningful boycott should apply to all games in the competition until the SFA remove the colt teams? Don't get me wrong I'm not having a go at anyone here but am struggling a bit getting the entire logic behind the boycott. Btw I didn't go last night as i didn't fancy it but will go to the game against at Connahs quay.
  5. I do recall I was young once and full of idealistic values and the like. Fair play. I must be getting old.
  6. I don't actually think if only a handful of Dumbarton fans turn up it will even register on the SFA radar. They think we're a diddy club with a shit support in any case. So whilst I can admire the stance taken by many of you, I think the only impact it will have is on our beloved club. Financially in a one off game and potentially beyond as no fans to capitalise on a home advantage and you may be more likely to be put out. Having said all that I think it's an absolute shit draw to get Rangers Colts in a cup game and it completely devalues the competition. Damned if you do damned if you don't type of thing.
  7. For Pete sake. I just wrote a big post and somehow lost the lot just as i had finished.Anyone know if a draft post can be retrieved? I'm using the app on my phone.
  8. I would say 11 posts in the last hour qualifies you.
  9. There was me thinking I was going catch up on a couple of pages of some decent gossip on our new signing and it's been highjacked by this minijc tit. Anyhow should be decent signing for us.
  10. I should have added. Fair play to Stevie for being willing to talk to fans so early in the season. He's also looking at a lot more fans being there than is as normal for these things being so close to KO.????
  11. Very strange time for a meet the manager. Being the 1st game of the season additional punters normally come a wee bit earlier than normal for a beer or 2. Have it at 1pm and you get them in even earlier. Making a bit extra dosh for the club from Bar takings. Add to that the team talk, etc already discussed. Strange.
  12. Just to add the club quickly need to act to reduce prices on Tuesday night to £10 and £5. Lucky if they'll be 200 there. 2 wooden spooners up against each other on a Tuesday night in the middle of the summer holidays.
  13. No more injuries is more important than a result I would say. Let's face it we wouldn't have beat killi away so were out on were arse anyway.
  14. Yup but St.Mirren have a good knack of turning good players into bad ones or at least certainly not getting the best from players. Certainly up until the tail end last season you guys have been absolute dross in your 2 years in the championship. We in the other hand are punching well above our weight and Stevie Aitken seems to have a knack of getting the best of players. So you put a bunch of St.mirren rejects under a different scenario and you get a different outcome. Shows how badly run your club has been the last few years. Some previous posters were saying the same because we signed 3 Raith players from last season. Raith turned out more of a basket case than you lot due to the way they were managed. At the time I never thought that was possible[emoji6]. Anyway the same argument applies. We'll just need to wait and see but I have every faith in Stevie.
  15. Aye the stuff on Facebook is hilarious. I actually thought some folk were at the wind up.
  16. Can't agree more. We need to get these issues sorted. A good start would be a statement from the chairman. A kind of introduction of himself if you like. What the short to medium term plans are for the club. Not sure we're to keen on the long term ones. The board needs to be more engaged with the fans and reasons behind decisions should be shared.
  17. 11/5 A great price for Ayr. I would say they have as must chance of winning as we do so 11/5 very generous if we're evens.
  18. Enough is enough. Away and GTF back to your own thread and stop clogging up ours with your pish. You must have loads have time on your hands due the school holidays right enough.
  19. Could clydebank fans now vacate and leave our thread alone thanks?
  20. I agree it's getting a bit silly now. Let's face it Bankies we are in higher league with a superior side. Yeah in some instances the underdog does well e.g Bonnyrig. I get the wishing us well stuff and I wish you well too but let's leave it at that.
  21. Good point. Did you see Hamilton season ticket prices? Over 18s £180, all u18s-£20. Of course they can afford it with all the cash they got from McArthur and McCarthy sell on clauses.
  22. I agree here but surely the best way of marketing the club is the level of football it plays. In our case we have punched above our weight the last 6 seasons and to maintain that perhaps we need to charge a bit more?? In saying that the prices being charged should have been subject to some consultation with the fans perhaps through the Trust. It does Sadden me to see reducing numbers when we have had a good product on the park. It would seem that we have achieved success purely down to a couple of good managerial appointments and various other things the board have done have been more counter productive in some ways. E.g some of the all ticket game arrangements from last season were baffling. Not to mention some of the bad customer service received by some last year when contacting the club. I do think the club needs to engage far more than it does and listen more to fans views. I know fine well the trust has a director on the board which is great and I'm sure things would be far worse without that, but sometimes I get the impression the fact this exists is enough for those in charge and why would they bother engaging any more when they have to suffer this arrangement in the 1st place. Maybe I'm speaking a bit out of turn here or not informed enough. I do think we'll need every penny this year though and just hope the increased prices haven't back fired too much.
  23. I can see Barry Donald and John Wight on there.
