  1. Am sure he has enough kids without given more to look after.
  2. And therein lies the rationale behind a 4-3-3 formation - its flexibility to adapt to a particular passage of play. Am sure if you took a still of, say a corner, the players would not be lined up in an easily identifiable 4-3-3 formation.
  3. The formation of choice is a 4-3-3. And not buying into this doom and gloom. There is an effort to do things slightly differently - and it will be a bit of a hit and miss at times with some youngsters. However, they provide something different - something unexpected on the field of pay, rather than the tried and tested journeyman signing. I believe that this season is far from over - Championship here we come (via 4th place Play-off slot)
  4. Securing fourth place this season is now a tall order; however, one that is within our control, at present. We need a run of victories to ensure we stay ahead of those hot on our heels. Winning the final play-off-slot on the back of a fiercely contested final quarter of the season would give us the momentum needed in the Play-offs; and, arguably, an advantage over those who may have secured their Play-off places long before the final games of the season. The first of those victories is coming up this weekend.
  5. Some would argue, I would say unfairly, that First Team have been playing the last few months without any discernable Tactics.
  6. We will turn this poor run of form around at some time; this is as good a time as any - 1-0 to the QP.
  7. Having a reliance on one or two front men to score the goals is dependent upon the style of play. More often nowadays the attacking midfielders are expected to chip in with more goals. On saturday we had a Bob McHugh assist for example. Coupled with service to the strikers being very poor in recent weeks. Perhaps we may see more expectation of the goals to be spread around. The Dutch influence will be interesting; switching to a 4-3-3 on Saturday being the obvious example and it is a more flexible system.
  8. I agree; shown promise in patches, if we can develop his talents who knows what can be achieved. On the manager front, I had heard the name Ian Cathro mentioned; that might be one too many laptops in the background for me.
  9. Am not sure what you mean; Alex Neil could or should be a name to consider.
  10. Evidence: loads if you care to look. As for being totally neglected - that sir, is a laughable statement.
  11. Alex Neil - is he still out of work? Then there is Paul Lambert and of course failing that, there is always Zinedine Zidane; am sure he still has happy memories of playing on the South Side.
  12. The u18's have been scoring for fun this season; its good to see them get a chance this evening.
  13. Quality commentary; we should all be buying the Falkirk Herald this week.
  14. Must defend better. And have less of this excitement/ drama/ trauma for last ten minutes.
  15. Don't panic! Thankfully, your season is not over being mid-table at Christmas.
  16. Should have been a straightforward QP win. However, from the moment we kicked the ball straight out of the park from the kick-off, we were chasing the game. We looked slow to every challenge, poor first touches (it did look hard to control some of the passes as the ball bounced up a lot on the surface. It is a shame that the two good finishes from Bob McHugh will be overlooked among the chaotic ending to the game. Well played Alloa.
  17. May have to miss this one today due to Conference preparation meeting; should be a straightforward 2-0 win for the QP.
  18. I would echo what has posted above. I would also praise the tackling by Montrose; the best I've seen this season; the amount of times we were dispossessed was alarmingly. That said, I did think that look the pitch is starting to show the effects of two games a week being played on it; two this weekend, it did look heavy and we were unable to move the ball with any zip consistently enough throughout the game.
  19. That was an enjoyable game and good to get back on to winning ways after the run of draws. I continue to be encouraged by the style of play, passing at pace and the number of chances being created. Only concern would be that after having looked solid in defence, we lose two goals once again.
  20. 2-1 win for the Queen's; a free kick in each half from Simon Murray.
  21. Expediency is perhaps not correct adjective for the speed with which the redevelopment is moving. My theory is that perhaps the original plans were pulled as they would not match the ambitions/ requirements 10 years from now. Certainly the way the new plans for the dressing rooms were described, would suggest the original plan was not fit for purpose. So rather then rush in and build for sake of building, we are drawing breath in order to get it right.
