  1. Playing three at the back against any combination of our front two, would be a joy to watch.
  2. We could easily have been one down after the first 10 minutes, once our defence started playing forward passes, we took control. A lot of games this season will be decided by fine margins.
  3. I would not normally take an interest in such speculation; however, it would not surprise me if this were the case in this instance. A disheartening situation.
  4. A quote from the Cliftonville manager after the game: “We’re disappointed to lose but Queen’s Park are a top side and, if things go according to plan, they’ll be in the Scottish Premiership next season and will be playing against the likes of Celtic and Rangers." Was that the plan? At the start of the season I would have been delighted if we were to finish in mid-table safety. Exciting times indeed.
  5. At long last I predicted one correctly. That was a very pleasing win, it's a game where Marijn's mantra about learning how to win came to the fore.
  6. As a person of faith myself I would prefer a more secular reasoning behind the choice of person to open the new Lesser. Having a competition among the various schools and community groups would garner much positive publicity over a period of time; the wean gets to cut the ribbon and their parent pulls the first pint in the bar.
  7. If seating could be somehow fitted above the dressing rooms, connecting with the Directors Box, then that would go some way to increasing capacity and making best use of the social club bars.
  8. We have improved, no doubt since the League Cup match, OC seems to have settled on formation, selection, and style of play for the most part. Am sure we will not have any hangover from our visit to Dens and are ready for this one. 2-0 Queens.
  9. I think so, so long as we do not give away any penalties; I believe our oppositon have an expert penalty taker.
  10. Must defend better. However, I continue to be impressed with our passing and movement and the number of chances we did create.
  11. I would concur with your understanding that we are not a bunch of cloggers and to be fair, in the games I have seen so far there has not been a bad tackle, clumsy maybe, but nothing over the top. Your midfield duo in the earlier cup game were too good for us then, however, we have improved since and with confidence from the recent wins, I believe we will win this time out; 2-1.
  12. How easy it is to attend a game in Glasgow travelling from Belfast on the morning of the game; does anyone do that?
  13. We deserved to win, no doubt. However, if Cove had equalised near the end, we would only have had ourselves to blame. The passing was not as slick as in recent games and credit should be given to Cove for not allowing the ball to be passed between them. Or team are very inexperienced at this level, at times that shows, however, they are improving and will continue to get better as we progress through the season
  14. Don't worry - OC is not letting me pick the team, this week.
  15. Agreed; however, as a starting line-up it would be exciting to witness. Score a couple early then revert to 4-4-2. The fact we can speculate wildly, for me is evidence that we have an exciting squad with many possibilities of how we line up. Compared with the predictabilty for prolonged periods last season.
  16. 3-4-3: Davidson- Eze- Robson Savoury - Boateng - Thomson - Thomas Kenny-Murray-Williamson
  17. I would. Our confidence is high, and Cove look vulnerable. This could be the opportunity to start with Murray, Williamson, and Kenny up front and blow them away in the first half.
  18. It is a steep learning the club are on. I would hope that the present status of the club is such that no "slavering" is now required as we have an alternative development strategy, and in time a proven track record to offer.
  19. Am as confident of a decent performance as I have been for many a year; which should give us the three points. And provide us with our first clean sheet of the season. Taking nothing for granted though, any slacking will be punished. 2-0 for Queen's.
  20. Looking at our fixtures for our Womens team, Lesser Hampden is listed for a game on 27Nov22; is this test the event? Apologies if this has been raised previously.
  21. Calm down - your pocket money is safe. The rumour I was hearing recently was of investment being sought from overseas. Whether that was for redevelopment as a football stadium, entertainment venue or some other purpose was not confirmed nor denied.
  22. I cannot see us moving from Lesser; as for a new North Stand and sure the idea is for that to be larger due than the other sides due to the size of the land available and to accommodate the larger travelling support. Of more interest is the idea that the SFA will not be redeveloping Hampden due to a lack of funds, selling it at some future date and heading off into the sun with their original preference of playing internationals at various grounds around the country.
  23. Some of the passing yesterday was a joy to watch. It was particularly pleasing to see Scott Williamson play alongside Murray again, he was able to hold up the ball and bring others into the game; getting that first league will be the first of many.
  24. Every manager always wants to bring in three extra players; whether the Committee agrees is another matter. It's also good management, a wee warning to the existing squad to keep on performing at the expected standard.
