  1. Ah its nice to see we have the South Stand Houstie GTF crew still on these forums. It won’t change and it never will, boo down anyone who disagrees with your opinion. At no point did i say it was the fans fault, I merely pointed out we’ve become a group who want instant results even with the mess we find ourselves in!
  2. Why don’t we just change managers every week? Get someone from the South Stand to do it because they once got us into the Champions League on Football Manager. Their is a sickness at this club and its not a short term fix. Sack anyone who doesn’t improve things in ten minutes, sack the board if we aren’t in the champions league by Christmas, they over communicate ands its still not enough for some on here. Who would want to come anywhere near us, booing when its nil-nil at half time, shouting abuse at our own team, fighting with each other away at Montrose, what a club! The new board deserve our support, we wanted Falkirk supporters and we have them, if they have belief in MR and KM, they should at least be entitled to a summer to try and build a squad and see where we are in October. Our problem is we don’t have the patience and we always want a quick fix, no matter what we do here it ain’t coming.
  3. Ah the irony on this forum at times gets me. We want youth development but lets pan an 18 year old laddie who gets into the worst team in our recent history, boo him every time he plays a backward pass and blame him rather than McKay and Hall for the rubbish we were served up at the start of the season- i wonder why young players aren’t queuing up to play for our team? Lemon looked like a decent player on the rare occasion where he had an experienced pro(Dixon). I’m not excusing Rennie for anything but how long is fair to give someone after 7 or 8 years of continual mediocrity and a board desperately trying to remove a sense of apathy thats been hanging around the club for the same length of time. The same squad albeit with some additions wasn’t good enough before Rennie came in but I’m sure the BOD will need a bit more that 3 months to turn the ship around.
  4. I get what everyone is saying about Houstie but you have to ask yourself if he would be even remotely interested. He put a large chunk of his heart and soul into the club only to be greeted by chants telling him to GTF from the South Stand- if i was him I would stay as far away from our basket case of a club as i could.
  5. Some of these comments do make me laugh, “Murray would get 2 attempts at a rebuild” we’ve barely given a manager half a season in the last 5 years without calling for his head. Genuinely how long do people think we should be given to turn around 10 years of malaise at our club. We’re starting to write off a new board after less that 3 months and whilst i agree that Rennie may not be the answer, he’s only been in role for 3 months. People need time to build a proper side, of the 6 we’ve signed in the winter window, you could argue that 5 are an improvement but its a lot more difficult to turn a team who has been losing a lot around. Genuinely not trying to provoke an argument but surely we need to reach a point of stability at some point?
  6. If we had anyone else, I would drop both of them. Too much is being expected of Ruth, he’s a young guy who has very little first team experience. That’s ok if you have an experienced striker to help him, but we made a mess of that in the summer ‘recruitment’ unfortunately
  7. That interview…. I feel sorry for Sheerin but the we might need to sacrifice something up top to shore things up at the back suggests we had something up front to start with. I think it’s clear from today that Keena for 90 mins is not the not the answer.
  8. Feel for young Paddy Martin being sent out to face Falkirk TV tonight, him and McCann were the only 2 that got pass marks for me today. Looks gutted but with that defence in front of him it’s no wonder.
  9. Or put it another way, misplace a forward pass and get roundly booed or take the safe option? I know as a player what I would do. The booing is cyclical and takes away any confidence a player may have so you end up with Nesbitt trying to do everything and everyone else too scared to make a mistake. sometimes we need to acknowledge we are part of the problem if we are booing our own players when we are still drawing- it must be confidence destroying- we weren’t 5-0 down!
  10. With how many new players and how many injuries though. It’s not an excuse but if you look at Cove and Queens Park, it’s been tweaks to a settled squad, we have completely rebuilt for the 3rd or 4th season in a row. It’s not helping us nor is the constant shouting for a managers head. This isn’t about being a “happy clapper” it’s about thinking about stability and fans and a team pulling in the same direction, and not booing our own players at 0-0 in a game, what sort of message does that send to young players, try not to make a mistake but if you don’t hoof the ball forward, you’re getting booed? if I hear one more shout of hoof it forward, that “tactic” hasn’t worked for us for the last 4 seasons so why would it now?
  11. So what’s the answer then? Bring back another manager who only played his favourites and played exactly the same style of football that Sheerin is playing now only a slower build up. our cycle since we were last decent - Houston is great- Houston GTF- we want Hartley- Hartley is amazing-Hartley GTF-McKinnon in- McKinnon GTF- we need a “Falkirk man”- Falkirk man incoming- GTF and repeat and repeat and we do the same with players! We all want promotion but you need to give teams time to gel and get used to playing together- as I’ve already said- look at Dunfermline. The players are still playing for him, whether he learns from yesterday is a different matter and the Airdrie game will be an indicator of that. The man according to many has already acknowledged he got it wrong yesterday we need to see if he learns from that.
  12. I would argue he has though, we were the better team against Queen Park & Dumbarton but defensive lapses cost us. We outplayed Montrose but again defensive lapses cost us and he’s changed his defence in response to this. Whilst like many I agree we should have signed another centre forward, the game against Alloa and the first half yesterday are the only times alarm bells have been ringing but he gets them in the dressing room and gets a response. for the delusional on here as well who thinks he only brought Keena on because the fans shouted for it, if he was as stubborn as many thought he was, he wouldn’t have changed a thing, remember Yogi when the fans were shouting for riera to come on, that level of stubbornness!
  13. Or maybe, and it’s just a maybe our “supporters” will finally realise that we can’t keep going with this madness. It’s worked out great bringing all these ex players back when we’ve shouted for them so let’s do it again! Booing a team who are drawing 0-0 less than a month after many on here were singing the praises of the football on display shows how fickle we’ve become. I’m not thrilled with how we’ve been playing but continuing to sack managers is not answer. For every, but Dumbarton can manage it, look at the impact at Dunfermline where from the outside looking in their players have stopped playing for the man in charge, I didn’t see any of that from our team yesterday. Sheerin asked for a response at half time and he got it.
