  1. As a Falkirk supporter, we’ve had our fair share of pain in this division and sadly for you guys, it feels like your club have went down the same route as us of appointing someone who was a really good assistant, but unproven as a manager. The risk in this league is that you really need someone who can bring the right sort of players to the club to get you out, and Queens seem to be repeating our mistakes, too many gambles, that when they don’t work out leave you with a team that you have no connection with and at best see you finish in midtable. I’ve always liked the way Queens were run and the football you attempt to play, hopefully it gets better for you soon(although obviously not if you are playing Falkirk!)
  2. On edge? I’ve been a Falkirk supporter for far too long then i’ve witnessed games where we’ve been 2 or 3 down at half time and the players haven’t been booed off. I do think there are a a small element of our support who think we just need to show up. Booing a team at nil nil 45 minutes into a new league season certainly qualifies as wild in my book, considering how many surprise results you see this early in a season, to be displeased this early on is to be honest just strange.
  3. Thats my take on it, booing is ok but only in circumstances where its been an absolute disaster and the players need a wake up call. Booing at nil nil at half time in the first game of the season is absolutely wild, if we’re going to boo everytime a game is balanced like that, we could be doing it loads this year. If teams rock up with 11 behind the ball, we are going to have to bide our time.
  4. I think the biggest refereeing issue with this is that he hasn’t made a decision, if he thinks Morrison has went down easy then he should be booked, if its a foul its a penalty. Instead he makes no decision. Similarly with the amount of time wasting going on, there should have been 3 or 4 minutes added on in the first half, instead less than a minute. Biggest challenge I have is just a complete lack of consistency and applying of the rules. Used to it in this league now though!
  5. Some of the absolute panic merchants and booing at half time need to settle. Games are played over 90 minutes and we’re going to have to stay patient at times. Once we got a goal, they had no plan B.
  6. Same as you @Tea and Busquets, couldn’t believe what I was reading and don’t understand why anyone would do that. The discord chat mentioned that it was someone in their section, not them who was shouting it. Seems like it was someone who was angry not that that excuses it in any way.
  7. Donaldson will start as we have no better options at the minute, I still think he is one of the best centre halfs in the league(and potentially league above) when he’s on form, feels to me like he just needs an arm around him and a bit of encouragement. Oliver isn’t anywhere near as bad as people on here seem to think he is. He’s the best player I’ve seen over the piece in the link up role, albeit he isn’t going to get us 20 goals a season, but that isn’t his role. I completely get its a game of opinions but I feel like we’ve got improvement all over the park, I would even argue that Yeats is the best right back I’ve seen in a fair few years, even with it not being his natural position.
  8. You and me both mate. Mental health too often gets ignored and I often think about how anyone would perform taking what the players will take on a weekly basis. I’m all for dropping players if they aren’t going through a good spell but once it gets personal, a line has been crossed.
  9. Oliver offers a lot to this team but is not a striker. Watch his movement and how he brings players into the game, he was a massive of the reason we went on our unbeaten run last season.
  10. I’ll quite happily take a red dot for saying it’s unacceptable for fans to offer to fight our players btw, I’ve seen some people try and defend it by saying but he is playing terribly so deserves it. These “fans” shouldn’t be anywhere near our club.
  11. Agreed, the defence take a lot of the heat but the midfield should take their share of the blame as well. I think Hendo is far more mobile than McGinn and him and Spencer will be a better pairing for me.
  12. I think he’s a confidence player and I don’t think he’s got worse overnight. He’s the player I refer to when I say that I think we are in danger of creating a scapegoat. For me, I think he has an issue with concentration and needs help from those around him as he suffers most when we get over exposed at the back.
  13. Why would I do such a thing I am probably in the minority in thinking that there is a good team in there. Hendo in for McGinn and Miller and Oliver rotating with a bit more communication at the back and better concentration and I fancy us to beat most teams on our day. The challenge for us is going to be maintaining the same level all year.
  14. I swear I must watch a different game to some on here the first half was dire and it was clear to me that communication across the defence was non existent. Peterhead could and should have been well clear by half time. Second half is as comfortable a 45 minutes as we’ll have all year, they seemed to realise that being organised at the back means teams will find it difficult and once Calvin’s goal went in it became a training exercise to see out the game, keep possession and not do anything stupid. This picking a scapegoat for the season needs to stop though, how much confidence can a player have when he is continually getting grief and if you believe what I’ve read on the Falkirk Daft discord also getting offered “outside” by his own supporters, that is an absolute embarrassment, who will want to play for us with people behaving like that!
  15. Same sh*t different week. Let teams start off too strongly then struggle to get a foothold.
  16. The question now is more would we prefer Cove to finish 9th for a chance to relegate Hartley should we get past Airdrie?
  17. I genuinely also think the officials in this league are in some sort of competition to see who can put in the worst display, today was more laughable than anything else, from nearly scoring from Oliver playing handball in the first half, to giving Airdrie a free kick for McCabe shoving one of our players over, I genuinely hope that they get some decent officials sorted for the playoffs. also forgot about the 3 minute stoppage he allowed for someone to tie his lace, do they even have supervisors at these games anymore!
  18. Holy f**k! The attempt by some of the Airdrie fans on here to manufacture a rivalry borders on the obsessive. On the game itself, I think a draw is a fair result but it doesn’t really matter on who it suits best as in all likelihood we’ll be meeting again in the 2nd/3rd play off. Dominated the first half without really creating anything Kai’s goal aside. Our usual 25 minute wild spell where the players seemed to think they were playing in a pre season friendly the way they were strolling around meant we were lucky it was only 2-1. Rumarn dug us out but him and Jordan should have been on as soon as Airdrie scored their first. Not much between the sides, the difference is going to come down to who is more clinical over the 2 legs. I do think Airdrie are probably the 3rd best side in the league, only thing that may count against them is they have a tough run in, although depends what sort of mood Dunfermline are in after today.
  19. Or it could be that its still the easter holidays. Airdrie end is hardly ‘jumping’ either- is that the best you’ve got?
  20. Are we handing out trophies for 3rd place now lads?
  21. Watson deserves an extra years contract for that wind up at the end alone. McPake celebrating a draw like he’s won the world cup is also hilarious. Should have won that, yet another brutal refereeing performance at the stadium.
  22. Are we a 4-4-2 today? Interesting lineup, lets see how Oliver and Burrell link up together
  23. The dives in the first half from their players should be set to dramatic music like the sequence from Saving Private Ryan, it would be a thing of beauty it was attack v defence for 90 mins, always felt like once the 1st went in, they would need to come out and quit the timewasting and the diving, probably the most one sided and comfortable performance I’ve seen from us in quite some time. Fair play to the Peterhead fans who drove for hours to watch that.
  24. Right call today, respect every team in the league and looks like a few changes for Peterhead today as well. 3 points is the main thing and hopefully keep the momentum going into Tuesday.
  25. Its clear for all to see how much that one idiot has impacted him, I genuinely don’t get people who go to the football and think that it’s acceptable in any way shape or form to do that. It does seem like a small section of our support leave their brain cells at the door on the way in. I’m all for rivalry in football but that is not banter and hopefully the club identify and come out with a strong message and ban for this. I hope Brian realises that all real Falkirk fans don’t feel that way and want to see him doing well.
