  1. Good result against a really stuffy Alloa side who set up to make it difficult for us although aside from a short burst, we looked largely comfortable. To the idiot who decided to shout abuse at Brian Rice about his betting addiction, going to quit that sh*te please?
  2. Its the sentimental nonsense that goes with it. Outwith the fans of the club, no-one really cares about a giant killing other than to laugh at the club it happens to. I’m fully prepared for whomever of us or Ayr get through to be given the same treatment by the media.
  3. If either of those are red cards, we’d be as well giving the game up now. Donaldson’s was a tackle you see at least once or twice a game, a good tactical foul to disrupt play and he got the ball. Clyde one Hynes tries to pull his leg away and is going for the ball, both arguably yellows but neither reds. Smudger even turned to Duffy and said as much about the Clyde tackle. 2 weeks on the bounce the referee has ruined the game with no consequences for them whatsoever.
  4. Genuinely nice guy who it just never quite worked out for with us. One thing that can never be faulted was his effort and anytime I spoke to him in hospitality, he came across as someone who wishes things were different and cared about the position the team was in. I hope he gets time to play with a team who play a bit more to his strengths.
  5. I think Ola had picked up a knock, or was knackered having not played that much football in a while. What a game him and McCann had by the way. On that showing we should be taking up the 2nd year option on Ola’s contract now
  6. Do I think it wasn’t a great statement? Absolutely Do I think there was any malice intended in it? absolutely not As a fan base we’ve complained about a lack of transparency in the past but reading those messages tells me we are struggling for cash and struggling to make up the shortfall. The timing couldn’t be any worse and I think what we are seeing is a well intentioned statement from a group of people who are definitely not going to get a career in PR. I get why people may feel it alienates a proportion of the fan base but I don’t genuinely believe, unlike at times in the past that anyone is trying to divide us. If I think logically would any of our previous boards went on a podcast 3 days after this statement? They would most likely have tried to front it out.
  7. Its on the app and I’m sure there were a fair few posts about hospitality options at the time. I don’t think this is one thats been hidden away, probably just that not a lot of people want to pay £1500 a season so not a lot of chat about it.
  8. Nice to see the usual moaners back! Was anyone delighted with todays performance - no, but there are definite improvements from last season, defensively solid, McGinn is a class act and with the right partner around him Oliver will bring others into the game. Yeats is going places as well. make no bones about it, we would and did lose games like that fairly easily last season. McGlynn knows where our problems are and I trust him to fix them.
  9. Not much chance if we get beat unfortunately, traditionally 9 points is whats requires but with one less space this year, even that may not be enough
  10. I think we’ve seen enough so far this season to know it sometimes just takes the right manager for things to click. Hopefully McGlynn and Alegria click and we see some of the ability that convinced Sevco to sign him.
  11. I’m glad the club have taken a stand on this and the comments on the post by the directors sum up exactly why it needs to be tackled head on between the “boys will be boys” brigade to the “everyone is a snowflake” crew we need to start to accept that there is a small section of our support who continually bring this on the club and we’ll probably rightfully be national news again for the wrong reasons. its about time that we called it out for what it is - its homophobia and there is no place for it at our club and I for one am glad that the board are showing they won’t stand for it. its not throwing our fans under a bus if it happened and there are plenty of people in the stadium who heard it.
  12. What chances of a wee signing today? It would be good to have a fullish squad by the time we hit the Crunchie game and by my reckoning we still need a few more to give us balance.
  13. Man takes higher paid job - shocker! Find me someone in Scottish football who wouldn’t want to get paid more money- it will be a short list. we seem to have a habit of belittling the achievements of people- Housty got it right at the end of his tenure and the fact that Totten left to go to a higher paid job, shouldn’t take away from his achievements when he was manager or the work he out in for the commercial side of the business. I’m not advocating that we name a stand after him but no reason to downplay all he put into the club.
  14. Is he not ex Falkirk? I’m sure he was part of the academy at some point
  15. Hoping we can hit a winner in the Centre Forward lottery this time, feels like its been a while since we’ve had options up front that have been any good or offered anything different, maybe since the Houstie season that we had McHugh, Baird and Miller as options
  16. Just ignore the Clydebank/Airdrie fans, its a desperate attempt to make themselves relevant and by reacting you just encourage them. Anyway, who are we looking for next, a centre mid or an actual centre forward?
  17. And i think herein lies the problem, we are a fanbase divided. When people ask why there were no protests about the old board, its easy to see why. Continual blaming of everyone and anyone associated with the club- so far in the last 2 days we’ve had volunteers, long serving and hard working(in my personal experience) members of staff and Mackenzie Lemon(why anyone would have an 18 year old laddie in our worst defence of all time is mind blowing, he only started about 6 games all season, most of them alongside Brad McKay or Ben Hall) This is not a supporter blaming post or a director defending post but surely we need to draw a line somewhere, if we see more transparency after the season ends, does that change people’s position? Sadly not I fear as I get the impression that some would moan if we were top of the Premiership that the pies are too cold or its a bit windy at the stadium and why hasn’t someone done anything about it. Think about the times it felt good to be a Falkirk supporter and chances are you will remember most being on the same page, and being willing to be patient to get there- if we call that out now some of us are subjected to nonsense about being willing to accept losers managing or playing in the team, with the position we are in now, we’re not going to win every game. I would love to be proven wrong and think that a hard working team who got us to 4th would be well supported, I find that hard to believe when people were calling for managers heads when 2nd and 3rd in this league, even if the football on display was rotten.
  18. I think its 100% clear now that there is no short term fix here. With the rumoured mess that the new board are having to deal with, 13 players of who most of us would keep 4 if we are being generous, long standing volunteers walking away for a variety of reasons and a perfect storm in terms of our supporters finances, where do we go from here. Some in our support want to treat some of those who have given their time freely to the club with disdain, almost an”if your not part of the solution type approach” but I think its grossly unfair considering the large amounts of their free time that they have put in to the club and quite often haven’t been treated well by those running the club(see Davy Mac last summer for an example) its likely that any new manager coming in is going to see us as a rebuild project, we don’t have the same draw anymore and we’re going to need to accept that no-one is going to be able to change us overnight. With that in mind, what does success look like for us? Top 4 is probably more realistic than winning the league but would some of our support accept that? If we bring in an Ian Murray does it stabilise us but without turning us into title challengers, if its Rice does it just make us difficult to beat- i just don’t see an outstanding candidate for us unfortunately.
  19. Same s**t different week, can’t score, can’t defend
  20. McGuffie with pass marks so far, the rest are showing why we need most of them emptied in the summer.
  21. I’ve heard a similar allegation about the volunteer @LatapyBairn., the idiot element at our club can join some of the players on the way out as far as i’m concerned. Abusing volunteers who have put their heart and soul into the club because we are shite this year, what a mess we are.
  22. No thanks, we’ll just concentrate on raising some funds for 2 well deserving charities than engaging with this nonsense.
  23. Logged on to 5 pages- thought i had missed something interesting but a brief summary is- someone abusing our supporters for raising funds for charity and some idiot posting a picture of one of our better posters. Don’t leave on account of 1 idiot BPM, whilst we all disagree with each other from time to time(as is normal on forums), there’s no need for people to make it personal.
  24. Aye thats what we need the fans to think like winners, that will solve all of our problems
