  1. I think the dead leg was after the Kelty player kicked him off the pitch. Strange that both the ref and assistant missed that one, but spotted Lyon everytime he fell over
  2. Yeah i think smudger has now confirmed in interview he took a knock. Sensible thing to do!
  3. I think he went down about 5 mins before clutching his back off the back of a tackle. Physio was on so maybe its just mcglynn thought he didn’t want to sub off someone who was 100%
  4. Falkirk daft are going to need at least a few hours to review this one
  5. Exactly that @ShaggerG , we could have scored 100 goals and conceded 1 and someone would still be saying how terrible we are defensively. There are some who are determined to pick fault regardless of what we do and where we are, after a terrible 8 seasons we’re on the brink of a memorable season and we should be enjoying not complaining that we haven’t blown teams away every week.
  6. Still too many trying to put players down despite an unbeaten season, the guys aren’t robots and will have peaks and troughs particularly with the tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday run we are on. All of the players have contributed massively to our success this season and it’s embarrassing seeing some trying to pick holes in whats been our most successful season in quite some time. Lets just enjoy the ride while it lasts
  7. I think the reason so many are struggling this year is that there aren’t a lot of players who haven’t contributed something. Yeats has been immense on his 2nd choice position, Coll and Tam outstanding at centre half amd a massive shout to Coll for proving all the doubters wrong. Leon is absolutely Mr Consistency and is a guaranteed 7/8 out of 10 every week. I love Big Hendo for what he brings as a player and you can just tell he is a massive asset to the dressing room. Spencer is a class act and can thread a pass through the eye of a needle. If Morrison and Calvin aren’t in the top 10 for the overall division awards I would be surprised and both will continue to contribute massively next season. Aidan and MacIver are dream team mates, they run themselves into the ground and give everything for those around them. The 2 keepers have both had excellent seasons and Tait, Shanley, Alfie, Oliver, Mackie and Ross in particular have all offered something off the bench. Really pleasing to have a difficult POTY decision and genuinely hope most of the awards go to the full team as they have been outstanding.
  8. A massive day yesterday, 2 players who have stuck with us even when it would’ve been easier to walk away. Leon probably had more reason than Cal but hopefully they have been rewarded- delighted to get both signed up as they are both massively important!
  9. My favourite part of it is undoubtedly the guy in the background looking for a way to insult Rankin and managing to come up with is “Rankin your a f***ing balloon”
  10. I think we’ve learned our lesson. Same team as today for me.
  11. All in all, not too bad a week. Not going to say I’m happy about going out of the cup but seeing the draw, i’m not disappointed as it would have been a big ask and another midweek game. Today was tremendous and we’re back on our game, its a pleasure to watch and anyone who had any doubts about McGlynns ability to build a team must be eating their words.
  12. Penalty was soft but as others have said, you scream for it if it happens to you and unfortunately for the young Edinburgh lad, he’s given the ref a decision to make by raising his hands. I get why McGlynn wanted to rest players, i just think it could have been done without the tactical tinkering. Bring Bisland in for Finn, shanley for McIvor and rotate the front 3 out to the 3 who finished the game last week, keep the formation the same as the guys are used to. Same effect without trying to shoehorn players in
  13. A team who we’ve struggled to beat and we clicked into gear and absolutely destroyed them. Hartley showing that he has no plan B, I’m expecting his usual shite in his post match interview but we were streets ahead. Momentum is on our side, hopefully the injury to McIvor was just a niggle and he was withdrawn as a precaution
  14. Calvin having a rare off night, may be a night for Alfie’s strength and unpredictability.
  15. Only danger we’ve been is to ourselves and Hartley’s tactics being long throws or hoping for a mistake. Need to keep up this level of intensity and we’ll be ok
  16. It felt a bit to me like Bartley’s main hope of getting anything was an aimless lump up the park and hoping Coll or Tam would slip or make a mistake. I feel for Queens fans as we’ve had our fair share of set up not to get beat merchants in this league. Defensively you look sound but I just don’t see where the goals are coming from.
  17. Williamson a straight swap for losing their captain and their best player so he’s going to have to hit the ground running. I would also expect Stirling Albion to be a different team to that who faced us as I can’t imagine they would be a happy dressing room after last weeks performance
  18. As impressive as Morrison has been, if he does leave, it will be for a fee as he is under contract to the summer. I’m also confident that John will find us a replacement and Calvin has enough to step into his shoes. Its would be a blow but not the disaster it would have been in previous seasons
  19. Draw has already been made from what I know, Falkirk get the winner of TNS/Arbroath
  20. I genuinely feel for you guys. People will want to laugh and point at a club at their lowest ebb, but I’ve always enjoyed our games and thought of Queen of the South as as a team who likes to at least try to play football in an entertaining way, I can only hope that this is exactly like where we were a couple of seasons ago and it can be used as an impetus for feeling that connection with your club again.
  21. As a Falkirk supporter, we’ve had our fair share of pain in this division and sadly for you guys, it feels like your club have went down the same route as us of appointing someone who was a really good assistant, but unproven as a manager. The risk in this league is that you really need someone who can bring the right sort of players to the club to get you out, and Queens seem to be repeating our mistakes, too many gambles, that when they don’t work out leave you with a team that you have no connection with and at best see you finish in midtable. I’ve always liked the way Queens were run and the football you attempt to play, hopefully it gets better for you soon(although obviously not if you are playing Falkirk!)
  22. On edge? I’ve been a Falkirk supporter for far too long then i’ve witnessed games where we’ve been 2 or 3 down at half time and the players haven’t been booed off. I do think there are a a small element of our support who think we just need to show up. Booing a team at nil nil 45 minutes into a new league season certainly qualifies as wild in my book, considering how many surprise results you see this early in a season, to be displeased this early on is to be honest just strange.
  23. Thats my take on it, booing is ok but only in circumstances where its been an absolute disaster and the players need a wake up call. Booing at nil nil at half time in the first game of the season is absolutely wild, if we’re going to boo everytime a game is balanced like that, we could be doing it loads this year. If teams rock up with 11 behind the ball, we are going to have to bide our time.
