  1. Thought Konate should have been sent off, was a good example of a player getting away with a yellow card on account of already being on one
  2. Think it's just a tough group. England are on it and Ukraine must be up there for toughest pot 3 teams. Thought Italy looked decent and competed well at Wembley the other night
  3. Travel thread for this pish
  4. What do you mean still? We've only conceded 3 goals in qualifying. 2 against an elite side and 1 was a penalty
  5. Still a long way to go, that projection has Israel and Croatia qualifying which I don't necessarily agree with. Apart from that things are starting to settle. I think we'd want Italy to win against Ukraine to take them out of a potential 4th seeding spot. I can just picture France/Scotland/Netherlands/Italy
  6. Sticks in the craw a bit that we'll likely finish on more points than a lot of the group winners. Spain losing either of the games against the diddies is never going to happen really The league A play off is currently set to be Poland/Italy/Croatia/Estonia League B Israel/Bosnia/Finland/Iceland League C Georgia/Greece/Kazakhstan/Luxembourg
  7. I don't understand people saying we didn't get anything from last night There will be loads of patterns of play that will be analysed by Clark and the coaching staff. France were absolutely deadly in the transition so if we can learn when to try and use the ball and when to just not lose it that will help. Eventually we want to be able to actually stand a chance of beating these teams, pumping Sierra Leone or whatever isn't going to help us do that I want to see us play a team like Croatia or Czech Republic at home. Those mid size teams were our undoing at the last Euros.
  8. San Marino almost got a draw with Denmark last night
  9. Could maybe even challenge Adams and Dykes for the main striker role tbh. Wasn't expecting him to be that good and he is playing at a higher level currently
  10. England will be in pot 1, Hungary pot 2. No other real changes as far as I'm aware. Denmark are on a bit of a decline and almost lost to San Marino. There really isn't going to be much between pot 2 and pot 3 teams
  11. Don't think anyone disgraced themself. Taylor shower why he's 4th choice, cooper was a bit off it and Patterson got slaughtered at times. Thought Ferguson looked good, pressed well and clever enough to avoid a booking for breaking up attacks. Looks like he can play anywhere across the midfield which is good for us. Brown looked lively and we had some nice link ups at times. Aside from that it's good experience for these boys. Gives Clark something to work on when we have similar fixtures in the NL or Euros proper
  12. Can never get over the negativity of some folk. We've done it where it matters, got the cigars out in qualifying and sent the b team out for a horsing against the best team on the planet Who gives a flying f**k about the result or performance
  13. Still only 22, not played that much first team football. Still have high hopes
  14. Great build up on the right hand side but he's got to cut it back there
  15. Did we not get the memo about var being in operation? 2 pens there, take your pick
  16. Good test this for Patterson and Ferguson. They're getting pummelled down that side but what a lesson
  17. Malta's previous 4 games before tonight have all been at home Played 4, lost 4, scored zero, conceded 15 Somehow almost get a score draw away to us Get Scotland gemmill so far to f**k
  18. Georgia will most likely qualify for this tournament Wouldn't bet against Norway joining them No one said it was a kind draw. Norway were the clear best 3rd side, Georgia the clear best 4th
  19. Should be a separate thread for fitba/travel arrangements imo
  20. It uses the chess ELO system now which means every match there is a multiplier applied to your current rating based on the same factors as before. It means there is no timescale or drop-off of previous games, so yes I think that will mean that it will take a long time for historic matches to level out. We're certainly gaining on them though September 2018 Scotland 1448 Sweden 1550 September 2023 Scotland 1522 Sweden 1538
  21. Read this thread last night and found it quite interesting. Reasons given for Scotland never being good again: Xbox Public facilities being too expensive Coaching Being technically inferior to Lithuania Lack of poverty Not being middle class enough Jobs for the boys Lack of indoor facilities like Iceland Project Brave Playing on big pitches at a young age Celtic and Rangers signing all the best players Not capping young players early enough so they don't have enough caps Not completely disbanding the team to give youngsters a chance Armstrong, Tierney and Robertson not being technical enough It's good to see we've sorted all of that out in the space of 5 years tbh
  22. Would have said the same about Robertson's time at Hull in the Barclays but it worked out to be a great education. Fairly sure he was in and out the team at the time and was considered not good enough defensively to begin with. Hopefully Patterson is just getting a similar education from Dycheball, maybe relegation to the Championship would work out well for him as well tbh .
  23. Current overall rankings based on last Nations League Only Poland, Netherlands and Croatia would need a play off if the same criteria was used this time around
