I think the point is; the fact that Labour are up against the most incompetent Tory Government, certainly in my living memory, and the polls are even close, let alone Labour trailing gives an insight into how lowly the British public view them as a party, in their current form.

Recent polling seems to be suggesting Labour tearing itself apart on this has had an effect. Without getting into the rights and wrongs on the issue, in political terms Labour are, and perhaps forever will be, completely ineffectual. Continually grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.

My knowledge of it is that all nurses, midwives, paramedics etc. were to receive the 3% increase, which is actually a 9% increase over 3 years. I’m not sure if that answers your question or not. I’ve recently been to visit Highland Hospice who say they’re struggling to recruit staff because money hasn’t been made available to them to increase pay scales in the Hospice sector. The Scot Gov have argued that the money is available but the NHS are the ones who need to pass it across.

I have my doubts though, the thing is that people like Rob are ideologically against an Independant Scotland, They’re emotionally attached to Great Britain (which I don’t really have a problem with btw, despite not understanding the rationale one bit) and those feelings run deep. I probably agree with Pep on the chances of an election actually but not strongly enough to be sure about it. I have for the past few years steered clear of political predictions because to be quite honest in the current climate, no-one knows anything about anything.
