and Clarke is bringing in Austin MacPhee to the coaching staff.

His CV looks good but all i can think of is his poor time at Hearts and how badly he handled every press conference.

This seems like a weird thing for the player to ask in the first place unless there was more context to it.
The player and fan have become friends over the years of the sponsorship so the fan had said in a facebook conversation that unfortunately they would not be his shirt sponsor this season, which prompted the question.

Presumably the idea of this scheme, as well as Peterhead's, is that businesses are the target customer, who could treat it as an extra advertising slot.
I've never understood why any individual would want to 'sponsor the jersey' of some squad ringer anyway, in addition to paying for everything anyway by attending games.
St Johnstone have had this scheme for years and the majority of the squad were sponsored by fans. As well as having their name in the programme each week there was an end of season player sponsors night where they had a meal with the player and then and had a picture being handed the shirt.
Our rate went from £260 plus vat to £500 plus VAT this summer which has pissed off a lot of fans but is totally aimed at the commercial market.
I have seen a screenshot of a reply by one of the team asking a fan why they were not involved in sponsorship and the player himself was surprised at how much was being asked.

Just bought my tickets, really looking forward to a game at Hampden, with a busy crowd, on a Saturday! A rarity indeed.
Not a lot of availability left on the ticket site, so would hope that extra sections will get opened up. What kind of crowd do folks think we are looking at?
I can see it being around 30,000

Interesting place Moldova in a dark depressing way.
They are trying to fill the parts of the stands that will show on TV, it also creates a better atmosphere that way.
I am a debenture holder but went via the SSC option as the top tier is not scheduled to open for any of the 3 remaining games (as per the e-mail we were sent) and they planned to move debenture holders to the South stand lower (if open) or elsewhere in the ground.
The SFA certainly are not anticipating any games coming close to selling out.

I went to Luncarty on Saturday and it was a very even game.

I'm going to take in Jeanfield Swifts v Whitehill Welfare on Saturday.
The last time Whitehill Welfare were in Perth for a Scottish cup tie was in the 3rd round in January 1987 when a then 2nd Division Saints won 4-0.

From my early days on the media team when I was taking pics
I was messing about with the settings on my camera when I took that and it almost never saw the light of day as everything around it had that funny circle around the images. I was scanning back through to decide what would go in the album and that stood out.
That and my Liam Craig montage at Dens always come up and remind me how with zero experience I ended up on the touchline when the media team was 3 volunteers and there was no central plan.

Yes all group stages are 2 for a win and 1 for a draw. https://kassiesa.net/uefa/calc.html
More bonus points available for CL and EL than ECL though.
From a poster on kassiesa.net - here's the projected pots for the EL and ECL. Doubt they'd finish bottom but it's definitely harder than the Conference.
When when you compare the pots to last season: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2020–21_UEFA_Europa_League&oldid=981376372#Group_stage - of course it had 12 more teams, so the weaker teams have dropped out and the pots are a lot stronger.
Aberdeen (7.500) or St Johnstone (6.675) would surely be ECL pot 3 which would prove useful in helping to pick up some results.
Should we overcome LASK i honestly don't fear any of those teams in pot 2 and 4.
A lot can change in a week and whether we can finish the job off next week is the big unknown.

I decided to take this game in as id never done a game at Annan.
Cracking little ground and an enjoyable game.
Possibly the best small ground in the country.

Thank you.

Apparently, although not confirmed, some restaurants in France are not accepting the SG paper version.
If so, this puts the pressure on.
Thank goodness we didn’t join their vaccine system.
The staff at our hotel in France confirmed this to me this week as everything needs to be electronic for the Pass sanitaire to work.

Tonight will be the first East Fife game where half the replies on twitter will be in Turkish.
Galatasasay fans and their strange sense of humor follow us everywhere.

Agreed.
I remember the roar when Rosenborg took the lead at Mcdiarmid to get behind the team. We need to be at our loudest for this match."Double your noise for the double winners" as was said on Sunday.

I caught the tail end of a news report so I may have this wrong, but masks still required in places of worship for singing? I think all religion is a crock of shit but jeez why isnt that "safe" yet snogging the face off of some random and doing karaoke on a dancefloor is? Its beyond laughable now
A lot of the issues are due to the Church of Scotland being ultra cautious and adding in their own add on's . Yes its still masks for singing.
We are still working with 2m distancing at Kinnoull in Perth and trying to get to 1m when in fact distancing is now gone.
There are so many regulations and a lot of the members have got used to watching at home online so will probably only return to the building for their own funeral !

We will have those who filled the bench against Galatasaray on Thursday playing tonight , then they go back on the bench on Thursday.
A week to tell the grand kids about!

I have just helped my Dad out by booking his group of friends.
As others have said the East stand is down to single seats
West filling up nicely but it does look like they are holding A and B (maybe they are selling these from the office)
Lots of space in the North so that's where i put them.
This system will work well as it fits the UEFA requirement and will put most of the tickets on sale online.

I am astonished that we are still playing in this
Someone better warn East Fife what will happen to their social media tomorrow night when the Galatasaray fans who are commenting on everything Saints related start on this game.

I read on another forum of a large numbers of fans travelling to away games all over central Europe so far, sometimes outnumbering the home fans.
UEFA are not happy with this and don't want to be seen to encourage any travel just now (After a pan - Europe Euros) so are now cracking down on all further rounds in the qualifiers.
You can bet as soon as the group stage start this ban will be lifted.

East fife are having to sell tickets and follow covid rules for next weeks Trust cup tie v our under 17's as until the league tell them they cannot operate under an other system.

I don’t see why domestically at least
People are allowed to travel now.
Edit: From my own experiences both Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres are packed again, including the trains between the two
For the majority of teams i can see this , but i think if they could get away with it the old firm would operate home fans only and use Covid risk assessment as the reason.

I still do wonder if some stadiums will remain home fans only for a while.

Nothing on the first question for either leg yet, which makes me think that either too much money was asked for the first leg or commercially it just does not add up for the likes of Premier Sports.
The second will be determined by what the Scottish government say today.

Perth also seems to be offering 2nd jags less than 8 weeks after the first
A mate got a text on Saturday offering his at just over 7 weeks after the first so i assume this is the start of "lets just get this done" time

Only over 18's are getting vaccinated by default. Under 18's are getting jagged if they have some other condition that makes them vulnerable.
One of our media team at Saints is not 18 until mid September and had his first last Monday. He said a lot of his friends who left school last year but who were not yet 18 were being invited now.

I guess of the three games that would make sense but does Clarke not like to keep the team as consistent as possible.
I guess the management etc will be glad this is the last 3 game in less than a week window we face for a long time.
