  1. Leishman is a likeable buffoon. His interview yesterday would frighten the life out of me if I was a Dunfermline fan, the situation is desperate and Leishman didn't exactly inspire confidence. I suppose in reality there's very little he can do anyway, he's just a friendly, familier face to front the campaign.
  2. He's been awarded an OBE in the New Year's honours list. Apparently Jessica Ennis (one Olympic gold medal in her career) is more worthy, as she has received a CBE. Work that one that...
  3. Why do people use this moronic phrase whenever people try to play down a performance? Of course you can only beat who you are playing, who said otherwise? The point is that someone has used beating Fulham at home is a barometer for success, when it clearly isn't (or at least if it is then they really have hit rock bottom). It's like me beating my younger brother at tennis and then rubbishing anyone's suggestions that I'm not the next Roger Federer because 'I can only beat what's in front of me'.
  4. It's always an awkward moment opening a card which someone has just handed you, I never know quite what to say. It's fine if it's a humerous one, even if it's not remotely funny you can still just chuckle a bit, but if it's not I'm not quite sure what the expected reaction is.
  5. Yip, facebook is the same, I keep getting loads of things advertised on my page that I've no interest in. It happens with everything that is popular - gets too commercialised and then becomes shit.
  6. Any time I've watched it and there is a politics question they are absolutely clueless. I've always thought my political knowledge was pretty poor, but when I watch them try and answer a politics question on that I feel like I'm Andrew Marr!
  7. But their lack of goals isn't down to a lack of strikers. They only play with one anyway and he is banging them in, their problem is a lack of goals from midfield. How many goals have Sterling, Gerrard, Borini, Shelvey, Suso etc contributed? Next to heehaw. This is partly down to the system and partly the personel. Signing someone like Bent, or keeping Carroll, would only make a difference if Suarez was to get injured. They obviously need to have more depth up front in case Suarez was to get injured or leave, but the reason they aren't scoring a lot of goals at the moment isn't to do with a lack of strikers.
  8. In a weird way the facebook posts that annoy me the most are just the really basic inane ones like 'Just missed my bus, FML' or 'just sitting down for dinner' and other completely pointless shite that no-one gives a f**k about. Why do people actually think that anyone is going to be remotely interested? There's been a couple of times recently where I've felt like I should maybe post something (I haven't done so in months) but can't think of anything to say other than winding up Old Firm fans.
  9. It was pretty spineless umpiring, Federer should have been told stop whining and keep playing. But it was as if the umpire was too scared to tell Federer what to do, so just allowed them to stand around for 10 minutes.
  10. Not always that great to get a bye, especially when you've been given a bye in round 1 too, means he'll be playing a guy with two matches under his belt while Murray hasn't played a point.
  11. Anyone else seen that post where someone has posted on 10 Downing Street's page basically saying that the guy who abducted/killed the Welsh girl should be tortured live on TV? It had over 50,000 likes at the time I saw it. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm geniunely astounded by the amount of complete and utter fuckwits out there.
  12. People who go on about 'our troops' being heroes and how they should earn huge amounts of money get instantly removed from me. Since when did they achieve this god like status? It's a job that they have chosen to do, and they are not heroes (unless they do something heroic by going above and beyond the call of duty - which I'm sure many do, but just being a soldier does not make you a hero).
  13. Have a f**king word with yourself. Where has anyone tried to justify the deaths, nevermind by using Heysel, but for any reason?
  14. Easily Liverpool's best player today. Borini on the other hand is a laughable signing for a club aiming to be top 4, or even top 6. Not convinced Rodgers' 'philosophy' can really be transferred to that set of players, at least not within the time frame that he will be given. If a hero like Dalglish only gets one bad season then Rodgers will be lucky to even get that (see Roy Hodgson). Their main problem is that their star men aren't actually very good, Suarez is very overated and can't be relied upon for goals (not good when you have no alternative) and Gerrard is on a downward spiral, and has been for some time. And now you have Reina who seems to have morphed into Stephen Bywater over the last 18 months. Not looking good for them at all.
  15. It was pretty standard Suarez really, great wee player to watch but has the finishing skills of Ade Akinbiyi.
  16. ''Michael, you're hanging around with a man who uses a collective term for a single vehicle'
  17. It's on Sky Sports. He plays Raonic next, should be a good match with him being a home a favourite and being hyped as 'the next generation'. Never been that impressed with him when I've seen hin but it's hard to tell what condition Murray will be in, Cipolla was like a practice match for Murray so can't really take much from that.
  18. Why is pointing this out having a go at the fans? The fans have done an incredible job, if it wasn't for the efforts of fans of all clubs newco would be starting the season in the SPL, I have no doubt about that. What has annoyed me is the likes of the Raith and Alloa Chairmen giving it big licks about sporting integrity and then going completely against that and giving the newco special treatment just because it's the club formerly known as Rangers. For me the end game here was not getting Rangers in the 3rd division, it is having a game in this country which is built on fairness and equality, and here we are the very start of this new era and already they are getting preferential treatment. I'm geniunely surprised at how many people don't seem to be bothered by this.
  19. I'm quite uneasy with all this back slapping over us retaining sporting integrity. Rangers have been given preferential treatment because they are Rangers (whatever Rangers actually is these days), where is the sporting integrity in that? If the clubs were looking for true sporting integrity they would have made Rangers apply along with anyone else who wanted to for the soon to be vacant SFL place (just like Airdrie had to, like Gretna would have had to if they had wished, just like every other club would/will have to if they go out of business). Instead they've been voted in without giving anyone else a shot because of the financial benefit of Rangers being there. I have no problems with Rangers being accepted into the 3rd division, but it should have been done the 'proper' way. I commend the one team who truly did stand for sporting integrity, whoever it was, I'm disappointed in the rest of the clubs though, my own included of course.
  20. Thomson has nothing to lose by Rangers disappearing, whilst the scottish journalists certainly do, without the Old Firm newspaper sales would fall even faster than they are now, and they might actually have to do some proper journalism instead of filling the rags with Old Firm tittle tattle. They are looking out for their own jobs, I suppose you can't really blame them. It's frightening that Gordon Smith was chief executive of the SFA, the guy is thick as pig shit and an utter c**t into the bargain.
  21. The whole 'transferring the history' thing is a load of rubbish anyway. The only 'history' that matters to me is the stuff which I have experienced as a fan, whether this is attributed to my specific company doesn't make the slightest difference. Reaching the Scottish cup final in '92 and '95 don't mean any less to me because they were achieved under a different company, they are still great memories regardless of what has gone on since.
  22. I thought it was for some reason. A few months back some idiot came flying round a corner on his bike on the pavement and almost hit a few of us just walking along , haven't been as fuming in a while, he cycled off pretty sharpish without even an apology. It's c**tish behaviour.
  23. This 'actions of an individual' thing that they keep reeling out is f**king bulls**t. The only reason Rangers won 9 in a row (and many other titles) was because of the actions of an 'individual' pumping tens of millions of pounds into the club. Strange how we don't hear Rangers fans queing up to hand back these trophies because of the actions of one individual. It works both ways, if you're prepared to lap up the glory then be prepared to take the hit when it comes, most clubs live or die by the decisions of a select few individuals, it's tough s**t I'm afraid.
  24. I couldn't believe he was saying that (well actually, I suppose I could), utterly clueless.
