Raith Rovers v Hamilton Academical
Shotts56 replied to baillieinleeds's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Buzzing for when Mimnaugh gets a go. Must be soon. I think I must be due a turn soon, we've missed that many penalties recently. -
Coronavirus and the Scottish Championship
Shotts56 replied to Granny Danger's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Guilty as charged. Would obviously much rather be at the game, but if I can't go, then watching my team on a stream is still much preferable to some insufferable English Championship game on Sky. -
Thistle vs Hamilton 20th November 2021
Shotts56 replied to R&Y99's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Nope, 10 shots at goal, zero on target, according to the BBC. Again. Every game is like bloody Groundhog Day. -
Accies vs Raith…Part Deux, McGowen out or not…
Shotts56 replied to TxRover's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
9 players out injured again. Really really sick of this shite. That's been two years of this pish. -
Super saints v Accies 17/02/21
Shotts56 replied to Lola montez's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
No idea. Before last night, we had 11 games to go in the season, 4 of which would be against St Mirren (3 in the league, and 1 in the Scottish Cup) if they don't make top six. So many games have been moved forward, moved back, cancelled, awarded, uncancelled, unawarded, snowed off or rained off, it'll be a major feat if the fixture list actually adds up to the right number of games at the end of the season. I've totally lost track. -

Was in Erik Thorsvedt, the Spurs keeper ? And yes, there was an incredible noise late on that game. I was in the uncovered North Terracing, and it was my first experience of seeing us qualify for anything -
What are the things you hate regarding fitba?
Shotts56 replied to Bluenortherner's topic in Misc Other Fitba Chat
Yes. Its shite. -
I'll be there. Most countries do something that I don't agree with. If I let that dictate whether I travelled there or not, I would never leave the house. A bit like the last year, in saying that

They had just won Euro 84 and really unlucky to lose in the World Cup semi-final in 86. Which shows what a good result that was for us. But yes, they did lose their way for a few years after that. -

Agreed - two wonderful games. Mo Johnstone scoring the first in the 2-0 win v France, and McCoist scoring in the 1-1 draw with Norway that qualified us. Great days -

I remember going to Celtic Park with Accies when we first got promoted to the Premier League in the mid/late 80s, and the attendances v Accies were usually in the 15,000 - 20,000 mark. A quick google check confirms the crowd of the Celtic 8 Accies 3 game in 1987 as 16,380. Although admittedly, Accies aren't the biggest draw in the world -

Yes, that's true, which is why the seating configuration is completely different from what it was at old Douglas Park. It's like getting a giant lego set with no instructions, so you make it up as best as you can, but it never looks quite right -
Accies v Dandies - 25/11/20
Shotts56 replied to Frank Grimes's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
In fairness, Accies were missing plenty of first choice players as well. No David Templeton, Lewis Smith, Sean Want, Jamie Hamilton, Will Collar, Charlie Trafford or Kyle Munro. -

Heavy and convincing away win, unfortunately. We are so so bad this season. -
Your system is probably fairly accurate. Oakley in 19/20 was half the player he was the year before. D'Acol is definitely the best we're had since MAC. Oggy got better in 19/20 compared to 17/18. Rakish Bingham was fucking rotten, he's maybe a little higher than I thought he would be. And Eamon Brophy had plenty of chances at Accies, and never really grabbed them; wasn't surprised when he was freed/left, and I have been surprised he's done so well at Killie. Your system is pretty much bang on the money, IMO.

St Mirren v Hamilton (Sat 24th)
Shotts56 replied to Ric's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
This. St Mirren will be desperate to get the game on, even if they have to play kids and keepers outfield, because we are utterly dreadful at the moment. In the last month we've given Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Hibs and even fucking Annan three goal leads against us in the first half. -
Off The Ball - Is it good?
Shotts56 replied to Buddist Monk's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Nail on the head. I gave up when one year they said they had no idea how the play-offs worked. They are professionals, for goodness sake, show some professional pride and go and look it up. Pretending to be thick or ill-informed isn't really entertaining - it is possible to be funny whilst still knowing what you are talking about. If they can't be arsed looking up the basics of the football tournaments they are commenting on, I've got better things to devote my time to. -
Hamilton v Heart of Midlothian

Absolute stonewall away banker -
Agreed. He used to come across as intelligent, eloquent and informative. Now he's fallen into the Gerry McNee "saying stupid stuff just to get a reaction" camp. Have stopped listening to anything he's on now.

By the end of June, most of my teachers spent most afternoons in the pub, so I doubt anyone will notice if you're not there.

Kilmarnock VS Hamilton Academical (Betfred Cup Round 2)

You forgot to mention the size of our support. -
If both Scotland and England qualify, it'll be a toss of a coin to see if the game's at Hampden or Wembley. Both countries are guaranteed min 2 games at home, but one of us will obviously have to have 3.
