Without checking surely england have never racked up 350+ back to back

I think so too. All the momentum was with england when they went off

Anderson not likely to get a chance for 400 now. Fat lady clearing her voice.

Ali could become the greatest no8 in test history with his batting ability

Must admit thought that was brilliant from root. Stokes inns papers the cracks for england but it was a great knock

If you drop bell to 6 at this stage of his career might as well drop him. Never been a massive bell fan so for me if kp gets a slot it is the one bell vacates. I would take that just dont think that is how selectors will see it.

How long before kp is back. Moores would have been a hurdle. Not that i think kp should be back as 345 takes care of itself now

Been away this weekend so not seen a single ball. 3 day test the result of poor batting or poor pitch?

Last year i built a new fence in my back garden, the neighbour behind my back fence, he took his own fence down and hasn't replaced it, this leaving a gap at one corner. Do i go around and approach him asking him what he intends on doing? ( putting something in that corner). Or just leave it be?
Only one option. Sunbathing in the scud in vicinity of said gap. Battle of wills who gets dressed or builds a fence first.

The interviews seemed heavily loaded. Almost trying to make a statement that KP is not required and that the team is close knit.
Must be getting old and cynical I think.
BTW. Aus batting wont crumble from 200-2 to 300 AO very often. And their attack is far more potent than an injury hampered windies who are average at best and poor when key bowlers are missing.
This wi team to be fair misses the best wi players but for that reason even more so if eng think they are any good they should be brushed aside.

Y but it papers over cracks. The attack is not good enough all round to avoid added pressure to the batting unit or take 20 wkts in the summer.

Wasps1 = fanny. At least one way or the other wont be seeing his shite soon.
Why hasnt mcgurn been getting a chance please

Agree with that. I might have been tempted to stick Rashid in too as a good leggie is generally > the barely better than average offies eng produce since giles n swann.
Ditto KP is wasting time and throwing away money on a lost crusade.

Trott is not a long term opener for me and there is nobody else he would replace at the mo. Might be better for eng to put their efffort into a prospect than trott

Actually. It summed up how money is killing test cricket.
Its all about getting an IPL contract.

That shot summed up how one day stuff is killing test cricket.
Atherton played all day to get england 200 for 3 4 5 in a day and was glue. Everyone wants a swashbuckler to open now.
OK this time windies survived but only coz england are not much better.
Only the last 50 overs did it get to be the true test contest. Other than that modern test cricket showed how it is about who's luck runs out soonest.
When it works they are entertaining but when it doesnt they want 4 day tests. Burger King and McDonalds sport.
Give me 5 days of chess with nothing asked nothing given away all day long.

If you had asked me i would have preferres an england win than jimmy becoming leading wicket taker.
Deja vu the last windies series. England are generally toothless these days and aus and possibly nz will wipe the floor with them in the summer regardless of the outcome in this series

100% what the last two posts said

Strangw watching this. Never want to see England lose but want them to be so bad Moores gets the flick.

Yes but just be careful about fat intake if you go mad with the pb

Fancy brendan to get a mom and win this for the kiwis

All this talk about scotland having a chance makes me laff

A guy in my office has a blue mohican and tatts and must have had them at interview. He is in a customer service role so just proves visual presentation is not everything.

They got bowled out. Reckless overall and while history is in their favour they have given Australia a sniff here.
